  • This is my fan documentary on Rod Temperton, the songwriter behind many of music’s biggest success stories.
The video covers Temperton’s meteoric rise from playing funk with 70s soul band 'Heatwave' to laying the foundation for Michael Jackson and George Benson’s solo careers, among many others.
After leaving his job as a fish gutter in northern England, the unlikely soul genius went on to write such classics as 'Boogie Nights', 'Always and Forever', 'Give Me the night', ‘Stomp’, 'Yah Mo B There', 'Off the Wall', 'Rock With You', and ‘Thriller’.
Despite being considered one of the world’s greatest ever songwriters, the nerdy-looking multi-instrumentalist was known in the music industry as ‘The Invisible Man’ due to preferring to keep a low profile.

Please support my proposed biopic on Rod's life and career called 'Always and Forever: The Rod Temperton Story'.
Film script written and ready to enter production! (when a Hollywood studio finally decides to make a decent film!) ua-cam.com/video/1kCa9L57sdU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=LeeBullen

I feel like it's a shame to hide parts of history that flip the script in ALL directions. Not just ones that that fit what we want to believe. A white guy being the mastermind behind all our favorite songs? I think is an awesome story that for sure deserves all the exposure of anyone else!

@@wabi_sabi_vida I agree. And so few people really know about him, which is another USP for a biopic. Lots of opportunity for humour, great music and a simple story of love, talent and success!

Rod was truly a gifted man. His blood consisted of 100% pure rhythm & funk, and his brain was a nonstop lyrical dynamo.

I was luck enough to see Heatwave perform in a nightclub in Oldham 1977 with the Original line up including Rod on the organ the Wilder Brothers and Bilbo on Drums. Boogie Nights had been released & in the Charts.
I knew then that Heatwave were special closing song Always & Forever. Followed them ever since very sad that only Bilbo remains but Rods music will live forever.Last week was my first time in Cleethorps and found the blue plaque on the wall.
They should have a more fitting tribute when you consider his massive contribution to the Music Industry and his working class roots
Always & Forever Rod a fitting tribute

ROD TEMPERTON, El Debarge, and Norman Whitfield. are my ALL-TIME favorite Music Composers, in just that order too. Rod put his FOOT Musically, in, Star of a story. his band Heatwave version, which is the original. man, that song is so beautiful. I DON'T know any other music team that sold more records than Quincy and Rod.
