I don’t think anybody mention this yet but “As I boil ice” is also another great song by Jinjer it mixes jazz/swing with chaotic rhythms … definitely add it to the list of reactions lol
@@j.f.fisher5318 I think i saw in a interview that they were planning on doing that just like they did with macro .. that would be dope for sure . In my opinion it should’ve went mediator then as I boil ice to end the album
Another great reaction! As others have already stated, the Prophecy is step up in organized chaos. Noah is also a great one that doesn’t get much play anymore. Literally, no matter what you choose to listen to from Jinjer, it will be a treat. More Jinjer please and thank you! 🍻🤘
I love everything of Jinjer, including the way the tracks are mixed, because bass and guitar don't overshadow each other while being extremely technical and groovy🤘
That one is also my favorite currently. The first part is chaotic, unsettling and probably a bit overwhelming, but it settles down during the second part where everything falls into place perfectly.
I love this song. I remember when I listened to it for the first time i felt it overwhelming as well. But now since I have listened to it tons of times haha I have got used to it 😂 now I don't feel it overwhelming and I have found the rythm of the song.
I wish more reactors like you, who are able to dissect, analyse and catch the small things, would give more attention to Roman. His work is one of the keys to Jinjer's sound but he's constantly being overlooked. There are many playthrough videos available either on Jinjer's YT channel or OD Guitars' YT channel but there are also some videos of YT guitarists playing songs that don't have playthroughs. There are a few very good ones where you can see up close how intricate his work is. Anyway, like 130!😀
Well on a blind reaction you can only catch so much on first listen. If I keep stopping and go back over and over to get it all the video will be 20 mins and not very clickable. So we have to decide on the moment where to put your ear and what to articulate into words. I agree with you. He is great and I talked more about him in the last two vids I did on jinjer.
@@DrumRollTonyReacts - Like I said right at the beginning of my comment, it was just a wish. I'm not pushing you into doing it, especially because you're somewhat new to Jinjer and there's always a lot of things to "digest" in their songs on a first listen. Ok, it was more like a suggestion than a wish but you do things at your own pace. 🙂
Hey, listen to „Just another“ … goosebump guarantee 😅 Btw. I love your reactions! You made me listen to some songs differently than before. Love that you can appreciate the musicianship and the art behind it instead of assuming „just another metal band“ … keep up the awesome work
Great call! I love Just Another, and it doesn't get enough love! It has the sickest groove. There's this rhythmic figure in the verse that's so cool. At the end of the measure the drums and bass go "a-four-ee" and then there's a hole in the rhythm. (Drummers have a kind of funny verbal way of counting the notes. It goes: one-ee-and-a-two-ee-and-a-three-ee-and-a-four-ee-and-a. Drummers are odd critters.) So Just Another goes one two three a-four-ee, with that pause. Often the notes that are NOT played are at least as important as the ones that are!
FYI the fast drum pattern you described as disconnected is called a blast beat, so 16ths or 32nds split between kick and snare, with some variations with specific names. It's one of the staples of extreme metal drumming that Vlad uses on occasion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blast_beat
I highly recommend vortex for the drums, the moment the song starts you’ll understand. Vlad also has drum play through videos for vortex and mediator that are so badass
@@DrumRollTonyReacts lol man I even watched it now that I looked back. Been catching up on your videos and forgot my bad. The mediator drum play through is still a good one or the music video, both great.
I really enjoy your insights - thank you for your reaction. This incredible 3 1/2 minute song has no fewer than 8 highly distinct sections. I liken it to heavy jazz overall. The range of vocal styles is amazing, the instrumental work is insane. My favorite two sections are the last two, the one where Tati sings cleanly with kind of a bluesy style over a simple, slow & heavy rhythm, leading into that massively heavy "breakdown" crescendo with intense screams. What an ending! It took me a long time to warm up to this song, now it's one of my faves! It's a lot to take in, but it's rewarding once you get a grip on it. There's a drum playthrough if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/ZDyjh_OqPkE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JinjerMetalBand My comment on your Pisces reaction still applies: "Home Back" (Official Music Video) is an incredibly powerful & creative anti-war song & video inspired by their experiences during & since the 2014 annexation of Crimea & conflict with Russian-backed separatist militias in eastern Ukraine, which is where they're from. You should definitely react to it.
That's me with Ape. I do love those last two parts, but otherwise it's chaotic and not very melodic. I love everything Jinjer, but it's needed to grow on me some. I need to go back and rewatch the playthrough videos. They've been playing it second in their live set for quite a while, right after opener Perennial. I figure if it's that important a song to them, I need to help it finish growing on me! I'll probably need to learn it on bass to fully comprehend.
@@ericpeterson7512 The first, longest section makes me think of avant-garde jazz. It's still not my favourite section, but I can appreciate the groove & mood it establishes, and it plays an important role in setting up the later sections - tension & release.
If you like the blast beats, check out mediator, both Eugene and Roman describe it as their most technical to play. Given songs like this and Prophecy, that's saying a lot.
some math metal going on in this one…. the drummer has a few vids just focused on him in concert. check out teacher teacher or one of the “live in kiev” vids from them- on the top or pit of consciousness
have you done homeback yet?... my favorite is probably teacher teacher but this one is just like... a drug? i don't know... it has more impact than what i enjoy musically in it
Check out this live one take of Ape with the camera roaming around on stage. Some nice close ups of Vlad on the kit. Jinjer does such a great job of sounding great live. ua-cam.com/video/M9jNkqfe98c/v-deo.html
So I assume you have listened to Dillinger Escape Plan since you say you like chaotic... Or Car Bomb... For Dillinger, if you haven't tried them, start with 43% burnt
I'd love to see you react to some Trivium songs (if you don't know them of course) Alex the Drummer he's insane, The Phalanx is from their latest Album. Thank you 🙏
Jinjer is really good as always. But I want you to react to some other musically- and drummer-oriented stuff. Try "Snarky Puppy - Lingus". I'm pretty sure - You'll like it!
Just subscribed. Will be checking this out asap. Based on your breakdowns, particularly the drummers, would love to see you check out Oceans ate Alaska. Chrs Turner their drummer is a monster. "Escapist" "Hansha" or "Covert" are great songs to check out. Chris the drummer also has many HQ videos in studio drumming live!
Lol let me guess you skipped the intro of the video... 15 seconds was too much for you to listen to the creator talk before the reaction. I literally address the volume issue there AND have a pinned comment talking about it.

Ape was the first composition Vlad wrote for the band. 🤘 With Tatiana's great lyrics and amazing vocals make it a killer track. 💙💛

Absolutely LOVE this song! Its like a “music nerd” carnival ride of ear candy.
Mediator is another good chaotic one. Love the chaos to. Many good ones from this band hard to go wrong.

You have to listen "the prophecy", the real organized chaos
"Captain clock"
"Word of wisdom"
"Home back"
Every song is a classic. Take your time and savor the genius...
All of their songs are great, one of my favorites is "Retrospection"
Hey, Tony!
You have to look Who is gonna be the one by Jinjer
“Pit of Consciousness” Live in Kiev is a more intense and clever song than this one but as always in different ways.
Have to recommend Jinjer’s Pit of Consciousness live Kiev a great performance in their country Ukraine before the invasion
Omg I love hearing mathheads react to Jinjer soooo cool. I need to check if you have any Meshuggah.

I love this song and it's always felt like it could fit seamlessly alongside Mudvayne's LD50 album. Very similar and brilliant organized chaos
