I went to CofC a long while ago, I’m geriatric Millennial now, and this has made me so nostalgic for college. Sunbathing on the roof was my favorite pastime. 😊
Hiiii!! It definitely can be a party school if you fall into line with that stuff, but when I moved here, I decided I didn't want to be a big party person and it hasn't been hard to avoid at all! There are so many small niches and pockets of students that everyone can find their place here!
Hey! I’m an upcoming junior in high school who lives in South Carolina and this has been my top choice for years! Can you please give me your best advice on how to get in? What do they specifically look for in your application? Is is hard to get in like everyone says? Tips on how to get accepted would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
Hi!! I'm not too sure about the process as an incoming freshman because I am a transfer, but I don't think it's too hard to get in! Talk to your regional counselor, call the admissions office and show who you really are in all of your essays!
Hi I’m deciding between Cofc and UofSc and I love them both but not sure which one I’d fit in better at. I feel like South Carolina might be too big but I do love the idea of the big frats lol!! Also I’m going to study biology and was wondering if you heard anything about that!
hiii!! my family actually lives in cola so i know both places decently well! the frat & srat life is definitely bigger at usc and is a way larger driving factor when it comes to community. cofc is best when you find small groups that you love. lots of people don't rush at all and fraternities can't really have big parties in chs! i don't know much about the biology department! hope this helps 🤍
Charleston is definitly one of the most beautiful cities in America. It looks more European than any other city. My great grandfather was a German POW for over 4 years there. He was a great carpenter and built many houses in this city. He was so good that he was not released until 1949, making him one of the last Germans to leave America and come back to his east German home...
@@juliathompson what’s your major? are your classes hard? i think that’s my biggest fear with college, obviously it will be difficult at times, but i want to know your experience!
I'm a Communications major!! It's definitely like AP classes when considering difficulty level but everything is manageable and the professors are GREAT and so accommodating whether you're falling behind or whatever! I'm sure you'll be perfectly prepared!! There are also tutors available on campus if classes get hard for you!
YO I was invited to visit in a few weeks too after a virtual tour. Maybe I’ll see ya This is exciting. After loads of research I’m highly considering the school. This video was helpful in a way that I really needed. Ignoring school life- I want a good life outside of school too.
The best breakfast includes waffles😂. Anyways you're about 2 hours a away from Darlington Raceway! I highly recommend getting tickets to a NASCAR race one day👍
hiii. i’m deciding between cofc and clemson and can’t decide which is better for me. i dance but missed both dance team auditions since i was still deciding. is there opportunities to dance at cofc without being on the dance team? also how is the dance program as a double major?
It's AMAZING!! Very intense but so so worth it! We practice every day now because it's nationals season, but usually it's only three days a week. It's such a close team dynamic and this season has already been so strong!! Would love to answer any more questions you have about it!❤️
@@juliathompson Thanks so much for replying, I have a couple more questions! Do you find it hard to juggle school work, the dance team, and work/UA-cam? Also what are some dance skills you think are must have in order to make the team?
@@averyd2699 Of course! I definitely find it hard somedays, but UA-cam is definitely on my terms so I can remain flexible on that front! I think that's what would happen at any school, not just CofC! And you should definitely check out our Instagram for all the information about trying out if you're interested! We mainly require headspring, kip up, advanced turns in second, and aerials are preferred!
Hi i know this video was 3months ago but could you do a video or answer my question about sorority life there. Like about the different houses and stuff. Thanks
I'm a junior in HS and i'm thinking about going to c of c and i have a couple questions... first is it unbearable hot? how easy is it to make friends? is there more of a an accepting vibe ig? and one fun question whats your favorite and least favorite thing about going to c of c and living in charleston
HI! I'm originally from SC so I don't feel like it's too hot - honestly it can get hot but its worth it - you're at the beach! Also since transferring, I've had a really easy time making friends through Instagram, Clubs, and Dance Team! Get involved and it'll be a blast! It's definitely accepting here! So many different kinds of people find their place easily! Hmmmm my favorite thing is being by the beach because it reminds me of when I was little growing up and my least favorite thing is the high cost of living!
Hi! Just stumbled across your page. I am moving to Charleston this summer for work and am super nervous about meeting people my age. Do you have any recommendations? I am 20 and go to the University of Delaware

Hi!!! Most upperclassmen live in apartments off campus so you can usually find good spots if you start looking or you can do an apartment complex like sterling or summit!!
In terms of off-campus living at CofC (I'm an incoming freshman but plan to live off campus next year), do you have a roommate(s) to help with rent? If not, or even if so, what are the hourly salaries like for the jobs in Charleston?
Yes! Roommates absolutely help with rent and make the cost of living here much more do--able. Also there are many jobs downtown that range from minimum wage up to $15 an hour! Lots of jobs and availability for students here, for sure!
Thank you!!! It's called I'm So Swamped by OPI if you're talking about the green lol and it's pretty left heavy!! Same here hehehe there's definitely a good chunk of cofc that aligns with you!❤️❤️❤️❤️
i was wondering the same thing olivia! top choice for college ahahah but a bit nervous about the conservative aspect of it. this was super helpful so thank uu!!!!🧡
