im the same age as you, first year uni, and im going through the samething. i realized im way too addicted to my phone/tiktok and i've been trying to stay off it and be more present in my life. its lowkey been challenging. I have good and bad days, like sometimes my screentime on my phone will be only 3 hours but then other days itll jump back up to 6. and honestly 6 hours is better then what my screentime used to be lmao. but yeah basically just completely understand what your going through and its interesting to see im not the only one trying to change that.

As for the social media part… I have gotten so much happier since i have quit Instagram and Tiktok. My ability to concentrate has exponentially grown. Idk if that is the right word. However, I can now : read books. Be more present. Do more useful things with my time. I must admit it has been quite a long time since i have stopped those social media. And it has truly improved my life. Great video overall. I am always looking forward to the next. Impressive music choice👍
I had the same thoughts about tiktok some months ago, i was wasting way to much time and i wasnt being able to read (one of my favorite hobbies) a lot bcs my attention span was so fucked up. I tried the moving it to another page thing and even putting the time locked function, but ultimately deleted it. Now ive been like two months without it, sometimes I still log in from my desktop but honestly i feel kinda gross after doing that (lol) so ive stopped too. I genuinely recommend everyone to at least try!!
