Hi mate, thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm currently working within one of the Russel Group Universities and looking to relocate to London to work for one of the Universities there. I have a keen interest in KCL and this has been helpful for me to get a students perspective.
01:47 King's is definitely better than Birmingham... as one of the golden triangle university it is comparable to Ivy leagues in the US (King's is Top 50 in all major global rankings while Birmingham is nowhere to be seen).
My partner and I were wanting to both find a good college in London and your videos have helped us look into our options further. Thanks for making these videos ^^
@@xxAbiiixxweeellll i got in, but like i’m an international student it was super expensive for me to pay the fee and there were no scholarships available. I was super sad for a long time since it was my dream uni and the fact that i couldn’t go was just because there was no financial help made me a little angry. But now i’m happily studying in Barcelona, so it worked out!
Hey kenji thanks for the vid literally got offers from KCL and Birmingham for med and this really helped, I Love KCL but i think from what ive heard you and other people i will be choosing UOB just seems like its gonna be more of the classic uni experience. THnak you so much
I want to join the IFP of KCl next year September, so I’m really excited and also nervous about my GCSEs, so prayers and wishes would be appreciated :)
Hey Kenji! I’ll be joining KCL this September for my postgraduate studies and have been binge watching your vids to gain some insight into life in London and at king’s. Any advice / tips for international postgrad students joining this fall?
@@lomimikasa2399 it was great and I would definitely recommend it! The courses were interesting and its a lot more engaging now that lectures are back to being delivered in person vs the online approach that was adopted during the pandemic. And London is beautiful, there’s always something to do and its really easily accessible by public transportation. My advice would be to really benefit from this experience not just academically, but also by making connections and getting to know your classmates and professors better. You’ll get to meet lots of amazing people and it would be a shame to lose touch with them and go your own way. My other advice would be to explore the UK as much as possible! Take breaks and go on roadtrips. There’s so much beauty waiting outside your doorstep so take advantage of your time in London to experience this new life to the fullest.
@@elissamitri7456 that's so nice! My question is, did you find there was much student support provided by the university itself? Was it useful/did you use it? I mean e.g. social/academic events organised by uni, student unions, academic family, personal tutors etc.
As a current student I can testify that NO, best quality isn't even remotely their priority. What you pay is worth half of the money you spend if not less. And those who aren't wealthy, are happily thrown to the curb. Moreover, bear in mind that whatever fee you see now will increase almost twice yearly. And the contents of lessons will not improve. Administrative staff will drive you nuts, and if they make any mistakes you'll be the one paying. I'm getting out of there ASAO. Not to mention that, unless THEY really like you or you are an expert brown nose, irrespective of how good you are, your grades will be affected and won't ever see a distinction. On the other hand, if you are white and/ or wealthy you'll see distinctions coming at you like tennis balls.
i just got my offer as an american student & trying to decide whether i should go? im mostly concerned with the reputation of the school, since i dont know much from an american perspective. thanks for the video!
Its a very good school, it’s like in the top 10?? It’s russel group too which means its research is good :)) KCL also does human dissections which many can’t do!
A girl studied Medicine here, got murdered by Agnesa Mustafa, and the murderer got away with it. The murderer is now a doctor. So yeah, KCL is very, erm, ethical?
Hi! I was wondering how is the community as medical students, currently I am studying Biomed and maybe cause of covid and missing nearly a year and a half, the community with coruscates is very poor and it is hard to find ppl to study with, how did you find that at KCL medicine graduate entry??
Completely the opposite! The community is really great in med school. Everyone is very happy to hang out after the hospital placement and you also might live with some of them
I think their style of teaching and how they treat you as grown ups. Lectures are recorded online and aren’t compulsory to attend and you’re encouraged to do things also outside of the course and live your life!
I absolutely loved this video!! Is there any way i can connect with you for some questions as i am going to be attending KCL from Sept'21. I would really really appreciate it since all this is very overwhelming being an international student!!
Hi Kenji, can I ask what type of accommodation is better for 1st year undergrad international student? Kings Residences or Intercollegiate hall? Also Kings Residences do not have food catering, can you advice where are the economical food places around Kings college?
I’d go for kings so you can meet mostly kings students! I’d recommend cooking at home, since you’re in central London the majority of places to eat are quite pricey
i have an offer from kings. i’m worried mostly about the social life and the workload. i didnt originally apply to birmingham but i know they have places for UCAS Extra and clearing and i don’t know if i should apply?
