@@КарабасБарабас-ю3ь Wobbly stand would definitely be one of the drawbacks. If you change the input source frequently then it might be a bit annoying. There is a setting which helps with automatic switch of source signal but it doesn't always work. Curvature isn't really an issue for me. Just took a few days to get used to it. I am not a content editor or anything, just use it for work (mostly coding) and for playing games and for both it's not an issue for me. Other drawbacks (mentioned in the review) such as viewing angle are not a problem for me as I view it dead on. HDR was immense upgrade for me as my earlier monitor was no where near the same quality (of course earlier monitor was quite old so it's not expected to show stunning HDR anyway).
i'm thinking of the same thing myself im a very new coder and i honestly believe that itsd really preference there is no flat screen on the market with the same quality as the neo g7 so it really comes down to that insanely aggresive curvature so people like it some dont try it out for yourself if you dont like it i honestly suggest you just wait for next year cause oled monitors although good for gaming are terrible for work especially if you do it at a long period of time 4k monitors thsi year although good for work suck at gaming because most have terrible hdr and the black looks like gray the neo g7 and neo g8(but the neo g8 has horrible scanline the the neo g7 is better by value)are the only monitor this year that seem to be good at both but that curvature is whats going to decide weather you're fine with it or not@@КарабасБарабас-ю3ь
LG C3 will drop to $800 around Black Friday time. Last year I got 42 C2 for £699 in the UK. Screen coating on LG OLED TVs is amazing. I recently went back to 28 4k IPS with matt coating, and even in a very bright room, day time I still prefer C2 screen coating.
Thanks for this and all the Monitor videos! My last two Monitors were top picks by reviews on HardwareUnboxed. The Monitor reviews were what brought me to HardwareUnboxed to begin, it was you guys entertaining and informative reviews that made me a fan. Glad to have the dedicated MonitorUboxed channel now. I watch these more than I should, especially considering Monitor purchases dont end up happening as ofter as other upgrades.
I've got the Neo G8, and other than the scanlines at 240hz (which I have noticed but only if I am close to the screen--the higher refresh rate is important to me), I'm really loving it. It looks gorgeous in HDR and especially in games. That ROG 32" 4K 240hz OLED is exactly what I want but I bought my monitor before that was even announced.
Ooooooo finally! I'm gearing up to buy a 4k 32 inch monitor but there were no recent summaries of that. Shame that HDRs like Innocn 32 inch haven't been reviewed though :( Should be available in Germany in October
I already got an amazing price on my 42” C3 as there are 20% off OLED TV’s codes around for the official LG website and I spent less than most of the monitors mentioned
I’m still sat here thinking how stagnant the 4K HDR 27” selection is… I just had a Tempest gp27u delivered to me because it’s somehow still the best option for 4K HDR 27” right now which is quite pitiful given it has more than a few bugs including FALD flickering, HDR signal issues and other stuff. I had packed it away for return yesterday after not being impressed by it only to find out later that same day a brand new firmware patch dropped. I set it back up, installed the patch and it’s actually fixed some of its quirks like low HDR brightness and the signal issues! The FALD seems like it has less flicker also? Not sure if it’s still worth keeping just yet!
I’ve been using my LG C2 for almost 11 months now and I love it! Some work usage running hatch 3 software but mostly gaming and video consumption. No sign of burn in. Wish I could get another one for the price I paid for mine in 2022. (USD$900)
@@imtheonehero9305 I have been gaming on pc for the last 3 years but occasionally I’ll hook up one of my older consoles and game on console. Don’t have the series X or ps5 tho. I have it wall mounted and my desk slightly away from the wall.
I’ve still not seen anything that matches the bang for buck of the Dell G3223Q - 4K 32”, excellent factory calibration, solid motion performance for an IPS, freesync, good SDR brightness, a great srgb clamp option, and £600-630 new in the UK. I think it’s similar in dollars in numbers but haven’t checked. Downsides are the ‘hdr’ it has is very very bad, and can even have backlight flickering if using that plus VRR. Also, its HDMI 2.1 is not full bandwidth. For the price though still excellent - a shame they tacked on the hdr as if they’d left it out and passed on the savings it’d be even greater value.

Ive had a 4k gaming monitor for about 8 months and it's great for picture sharpness and games that have alot of text to read but for the current crop of games it's spoiled with games that are often not optimsed for native 4k and more for upscaler's. I used to think 4k was overrated and after my experience using a 4k monitor for gaming I still think that. Right now I've been converted to ultra wide monitors. I just got a Samsung oled G8 UW monitor and its the best monitor I've ever owned. It's perfect for my 7900xtx and I can run any game without upscaling and high frame rates. 😊
Sorry Tim, to me one of the best large format 4K display is the Asus PG38UQ. No OLED burn-in, no annoying ABL, comes with the right connections and 38" is JUST RIGHT.
I tried friend’s 4k monitor and I can’t unsee the beauty, clarity and crisp of 4k resolution. I really want to upgrade from 1440p to 4k, unfortunately I need to upgrade my pc too (5800x+3060ti).
I have a Hisense 55U8G in my game room. Playing WoW, various Elder Scrolls and lately, Guild Wars 2, my EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 did just fine. I also have a 5800X. I had access to a 6900XT and yes, graphics can be maxed with it. My guess is the 7800XT would be a decent upgrade as the 6800XT was within 15% of the 6900XT. Get a 16g GPU if you do upgrade to 4K. I also have the Hisense 65U8H in my living room and wow!. The still wall sized 55U8H is $700-750 currently. Lots of reviews for both the TV and GPU.
@@carlkidd752 I think I will wait 1 year to buy 4k monitor, and for next gen GPUs. something like 5080 should be fantastic for 4k. 16gb vram is minimum for 4k. Might even consider 5090 for ultimate experience.
The NEO G8 has a firmware update that fixes the scanlines. Mine had very bad scan lines until I updated firmware. Now it's always running in 240Hz. So I believe its now a viable option if you want that 240 Hz 4k.
I was interested in the standard size 4K HDR section of this video, but unfortunately the curvature of the Neo G7 is just a complete deal breaker for me. I've been wondering about the Cooler Master Tempest GP27U, which you reviewed fairly highly, and can be had for a pretty decent $800USD price tag. My use case is mixed between gaming and (mostly text based) productivity in a fairly heavily sunlit room. Do you think this would be a strong alternative for this category?
It's so weird to see people say a curved screen is a deal breaker. I feel that way about a non-curved screen. The immersion with a curved screen is unreal. Flat screens are so weird to look at now. Like they have an INVERSE curve with a big looking bulge in the middle.
I just bought a 55" C2 (smallest size available in my country). I needed to move my desk 1 meter away from the wall... but oh boy, I feel like I need to rewatch all my movies
Why the LG 32GQ950 is not in the list ? Shouldn't it be better than the 32GR93U ? I bought it this summer (thanks for your review, Tim) and it's great.
Probably mainly due to huge price difference when the only true improvement is to ips glow and perhaps a bit of contrast. If it had true hdr capabilities it would be there for sure.
I wish you guys would put more weight behind well tuned strobing features. A sub 1-2ms response time difference really isn't that noticeable in normal usage whereas strobing/BFI can massively increase clarity if done well.
Are you guys planning to review the samsung odyssey oled g9 monitor by any chance? I know it's not 4k but considering the tech and how in depth you guys are, I think people want to hear your take on it. Specially since it's settings are kind of funky and kind of different for the average user.
Which is the better option for Xbox series X LG GR93U or LG C3. Gonna be playing games like Cod, Fortnite and sports games. Had a Samsung 1440p monitor and the 120 felt amazing but wondering if the 120 on the C3 will feel similar.
What about future 4K OLED monitors for artists, for those who work extensively in programs like Photoshop and Illustrator? Won't they contribute to burn-in in static interface areas? And do you think there will be any improvement in IPS monitors when OLEDs enter the market, or will they simply disappear as it happened with screens for mobile phones?
In my experience of using Da Vinci Resolve and Adobe softwares, burn in should not be a problem as bad as you thought, because 1, I work in a dark room (for colour control) so most of the time it is at very low brightness. 2, those static UI elements are usually not white so those pixels isn't working at 100% all the time. Burn-in will happen, it's an OLED afterall. But I won't worry untill those using a OLED TV in bright living room with CNN or ESPN logo started to complaint.

I’d have said the NeoG7 is a good pick for 4K 32” if it’s on sale. Apart from the curve which isn’t a dealbreaker the picture still looks stunning.
Hoping for a best 1440p Monitor update soon. 🙏

What do you think of it so far?
@@chriswebster2216 I'm really happy with it so far, especially since I got it at the sale price.
Why you still ignoring 4k miniLED monitors from ViewSonic, KTC, RedMagic (ZTE)?
Good to know that Neo G7 that I got last year is still one of the listed monitors here. Found it for a very good deal and loving it. Thank you!
Planning to get myself one. Can you tell any drawbacks here? I’m worried about curvature.. planning to use it 50/50 work / gaming

Where are you from and how did you get that 20 percent off?
Really liking the new nameplate art for each monitor. I genuinely love it.
Can't thank you enough for going straight to the point man.
I want a 27" 4k 120hz oled monitor with a gloss finish.... why is that so difficult

I got the Neo G7 for $850 on Prime Day. I'm thrilled with it!
The m27U prices im finding is $900AUD, is that still good bang-for-buck?
I’ve been using my LG C2 for almost 11 months now and I love it! Some work usage running hatch 3 software but mostly gaming and video consumption. No sign of burn in. Wish I could get another one for the price I paid for mine in 2022. (USD$900)
Pc or console? How close do you sit to it?
@@imtheonehero9305 I have been gaming on pc for the last 3 years but occasionally I’ll hook up one of my older consoles and game on console. Don’t have the series X or ps5 tho. First generations I haven’t purchased. As far as distance from screen it’s about 34” or 86 cm from my chest to my screen and 43” or 109 cm with my chair leaned back.
I have the regular G7 32" and I love it! I'm not surprised you chose the Neo G7.

Thanks for the honorable mentions to account for regional price fluctuations, very helpful.
