Great stuff as always!
Really appreciate the outro with my truck 😁
Great information Tacomaholic. You deserve a lot more subscribers than what you have !!
Thanks!
I got JBA due to having 90 degrees of articulation and a heavy duty ball joint lifetime warranty and the bushings are exclusive.
I have heard many guys say overgreasing can be just as detrimental. I have their tubular UCAs and have only greased twice since installation 25k ago and still no squeaks. My Delta joints get greased each oil change but bushings do not need it very often if installed correctly.
Wondering if Heim is a good option. Heard it wears out much faster than the urethane bushings, and I'm not sure how it would perform with harsh canadian winters.
Debating on the Icon tubular, or the billet with heim mounts, or the JBAs.
I just bought element hard UCA’s. Look very similar.
Ok bud I gotta ask something I feel stupid asking..I have the icon tubulars now. I just ordered the icon billets. The tubular kit comes with poly bushings where the arms actually attach to the truck frame with that long ass bolt that's a pain to remove and they have zerk fittings there as well as on the delta joint unibal portion.... The billet ones olmost look like it's just a metal hole where they attach with no insert or anything in there. Like metal on metal or something. Is there like a urethane coating on the inside of the holes or something so it can travel up and down without rubbing a divit or something in the mounting bolt.
Thanks for your time brother.
Great and informative vid.....
I’ve seen videos of them greasing the joint but what about where the through bolt goes through?
You got balls buying those online for that price and trusting they'd come. Glad it worked for ya tho.
I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. 😀
Another great video! Were your SPC's due for replacement?
My SPCs were fine but I saw a huge discount on these so I jumped on them.
@murdock more like he saw Amazon fuck up and have an accidental 70% discount
Any tips/insight on how to adjust/increase caster on these? I understand you loosen the pinch bolts and extended the double adjuster outwards but which would increase caster extended the front or rear of the uca? Thanks!
I had a performance shop do all of that when they aligned by truck after installing these.
Those Icon UCA look great. Do they come with the Tacomaholic decals? I'm planning to raise my 2019 TuRD Sport and I should install these at the same time. Any suggestions or tips I need before lifting? I am planning a 2 inch lift.
Ha ha no but you can grab one of those decals here: tacomaholics.com/shop Why type of lift are you going with?
@@Tacomaholic I want to go with a suspension lift without using strut spacers. Also, I want a Tacomaholic key chain like you had in one of your other videos. Have you installed a cat back exhaust system yet? I installed a MagnaFlow system that uses an upstream resonator. My TuRD now sounds like it has a bad ass V-8 under the hood. I also installed a Rough Country cold air kit. The exhaust now drowns out the intake sounds.
@@dingznthingz I've got a Flowmaster 50 Series muffler on my truck and it sounds pretty good for a V6.
What about the adjustable links on the end of uca? Is that something you adjust or save for the alignment shop?
I'd save those for the alignment shop unless you really know what you are doing.
I’m wanting to get the upper and lowers from dirt king. Lot of options out there for sure though.
A buddy of mine installed the stock length LCAs from Dirt King. Those things are sweet.
@@Tacomaholic do you regret not going with a locker in the front? I like the way you did it so you can save money not having to pay a shop. Just curious if it’s really limited you off road?
cant find the video you mentioned at 3:47 of the shop pressing in the delta joints. I need to replace the ball joints on the ones billet piece i have on the car now. Do i need to buy the adapter if i am taking it to a shop?
Here's a link to that vid but yes you'll need that adapter. ua-cam.com/video/FA5Ca6FDUS0/v-deo.html
i know i need new uca because my stock is now loose. how do you know how much to adjust the uca if I have 33" rubber?
I had mine adjustaed by the shop that did my alignment.
What would be your top 5 upper control arms?
Gosh tons of good ones out there. From what I've seen the best ones on the less expensive side are probably JBA.
dumb question...
why not go with icon suspension if you bought the uc?
did you want a specific shock from king?
Already had the Kings before stumbling across an amazing deal for the Icons.
@@Tacomaholic I am looking at Kings. All of their options can be a bit overwhelming. Did you go with a basic offering from King? Or have them build them to a specific spec? I am also looking at a stage 4 kit from icon. Thank you!
@@sethlover6498 I'm running the King 2.5 extended travel shocks w/resi up front and 14" King 2.0 shocks w/resi in the rear ... but the rear required a shock relocation install.
Are these worth the almost $500 difference from the tubular? How have the rod ends held up?
Mine have been great but they are certainly expensive. I got mine at a massive discount though so not sure if I would have paid full price.
I have a set of bullets that I just took off and replaced with tubular. 30,000 miles and the rod ends are shot. The squeaking has been driving me crazy, so I pulled one off. They came with the uniball, which wore out in about 18k miles. Changed it out to a delta joint, but the noise continued. Billets are OK for a drier environment, but if you're in mud and snow, the tubular ones with the poly bushings, which are greaseable, last longer. Now I have a set of billet ucas for sale. Cheap.
What is your experience in regards to NVH with these UCAs? Mind commenting?
Probably none since I don't even know what NVH stands for. 😀
I’m trying to sound like a keyboard know-it-all 4wheeler dude. How did these UCAs affect noise, vibration and ride harshness?
@@tre408 They ride great and I haven't had any issues with vibes or noise. I do grease mine every few thousand miles though to stay ahead of that.
Must be one bright camera
Can you replace the “ball joints” on this UCA?
You can replace the center delta joint and the end heim joints
@@Tacomaholic you got a link on where I could order those?
@@defectahz6399 I got mine directly through the Icon website.

Are you still liking these?
Absolutely.
