OhmyGod! The lead in to this song was outstanding. Joe is doing fine job on vocals. The song reminds me of happier times and the great music that came out of the late 70's and early 80's.
BEST Ambrosia song EVER, particularly the bridge (?): "When the pain of love surrounds you, and the world may be unkind...I'll put my loving arms around you, take you far from this place and time.."
Though not the original lead singer, this still performance still does justice to the original record. Was not expecting that to be the case. Love this song.
What a great band! Absolutely one of my favorites and one of my favorite memories is having the privilege of buying these guys a round of drinks on their first night back on the 2000 reunion tour at the Radisson hotel in Sacramento. - They were such cool guys to talk to - you'd think we were old high school buddies. 👊😏
Brings back such great memories for me. I was stage crew for Little River Band and Ambrosia in 77-78 for LRB's first American tour and they, Ambrosia and Blue Oyster Cult all played together in Vegas..What a show !
I seen ambrosia/ LRB at Santa Monica civic..I'm a huge ambrosia fan as they are from Harbor area of LA.. where I live.. also las Vegas show but can't remember venue.. thinking Aladdin???..
ahhhh...high school years. I loved this song back then, and after all these years, I can still listen to it over and over again. Amazing performance! Thank you for all the great memories.
I'm such a sap...I love those old love songs...like "Fool If You Think It's Over" by Chris Rea, "You're The Only Woman" and "How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia, and "Green Eyed Lady" by Sugarloaf (MY FAV...BECAUSE I'M THE GREEN EYED LADY)...the list goes on and on.....
I have always admored David Pack's vocals but Joe Puerta really nails this...can't say that I ever heard his lead vocal, whether it was with Ambrosia or Bruce Hornsby's Range...not only is he playing in the pocket but he really knocks this one out of the park...
you know, that was exactly what i was thinking . i like this one version better than the other one . This is the only one i listen to now. Its a shame that they wont put it on a cd or something !!!
Im just now in my 30s and this song is literally my favorite. I was raised on old music, I know more than many people my parent's age... I guess I was born in the wrong time haha
Saludo to Joe P. He still sounds good & hasn't aged a bit unlike most of the old band singers. Would be even better if the original members got together & perform.
Had a chance to see Ambrosia at the Desert Diamond Casino in Sahuarita AZ in March 2020 and all I can say is WHOW...great band that knows how to play...the harmonies are spot on and the musicianship is top notch...if you ever get a chance to see this band before there gone ...DO IT ! ...you won't be disappointed ...another GREAT group from the 'BAY AREA' where a lot of good groups came from...
i was like 3 when this song came out but i goddamn love it and think they’re super talented. also, where did adult contemporary go? it’s like the entire genre disappeared
Was a junior in high school when this came out --- really thought it was a black group until I heard the announcer say, AMBROSIA! Then I knew! I didn't have any money back then, but when I became an adult I got to see them at Coachhouse in San Juan Capistrano! I'll never forget the feeling of singing those songs with the guys that molded my adolescence! #longliveAmbrosia
I think Ricky and Doug are awesome. Better then PAC or whatever his name was. I listen to both. Went to a concert this past weekend, they rocked. Changed my music collection. Great bunch of guys. Joe, Ricky, Doug, Burleigh, Chris. Love u guys Jess
I agree with you. They are good but it's David's wonderful smooth voice that made Ambrosia the great success they were.Without him it's just not the same.
Aspiring musicians this is how you play together as a band!
Indeed!
Freakin killed that song... Total pros
OhmyGod! The lead in to this song was outstanding. Joe is doing fine job on vocals. The song reminds me of happier times and the great music that came out of the late 70's and early 80's.

Man Burleigh is so underrated. What a great feel and the sticks are just floating in his hands. Great song.
Always wondered if he simply HAD to be a drummer, given his name.
He really has a satisying THWACK of a backbeat, doesn't he?
AMBROSIA IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BANDS SINCE THE 70's. THEY ARE FIRST RATE MUSICIANS!
ah... the groove that so mellow and awesome you cant sit still...
Damn , he is such an awesome bass player.
Smooth and light rock. So into it man.
Though not the original lead singer, this still performance still does justice to the original record. Was not expecting that to be the case. Love this song.
Very well said....couldn't agree more.
Puerta is a fantastic frontman
Kicks ass with that bass !!!
So good to see organ-keyboardist Chris North back in the groove (although ten years back)!
Most keyboardist are strange. I am one of em. Lol. Love the passion .
Joe Puerta is a great vocalist in his own right. He's never tried to "be" David Pack. he doesn't need to be.
👊😏
sounds Perfect to me, I miss this sound. Music is just not done like it use to be
Joe Puerta is a great vocalist and one ass-kickin bass player first and foremost. Love Ambrosia.
Brings back such great memories for me. I was stage crew for Little River Band and Ambrosia in 77-78 for LRB's first American tour and they, Ambrosia and Blue Oyster Cult all played together in Vegas..What a show !

Im just now in my 30s and this song is literally my favorite. I was raised on old music, I know more than many people my parent's age... I guess I was born in the wrong time haha
Real musicians are sustained their entire lives by the love of music and a passion to express it.
One the greatests groups ever! This song is so smooth, like a nightbreeze
Saludo to Joe P. He still sounds good & hasn't aged a bit unlike most of the old band singers. Would be even better if the original members got together & perform.
Such a great song !
One of my favorite songs. Wonderful performance

Man. I hope they get to come to Atlanta once this Covid dies down.
Hi, they are from los Angeles " Harbor Area ".. not a 'SF Bay' band..
THAT JUST REALLY TAKES THE CAKE !!
That bass groove really drives this song. Love it Joe

Liked because this song randomly comes into my head many times each year...
This is music👏👏👏
Was a junior in high school when this came out --- really thought it was a black group until I heard the announcer say, AMBROSIA! Then I knew!

Nice, nice, very nice !
absolutely love this version of this song... the tight nature of this sound is refreshing and the vocals are outstanding!
I never knew that I would miss AM radio. where's Rick Dee's? lol
Brings back good fun times, the 70's had a lot of wonderful songs and we can listen to them in the year 2022.. They are legends now ❤
I think Ricky and Doug are awesome. Better then PAC or whatever his name was. I listen to both. Went to a concert this past weekend, they rocked. Changed my music collection. Great bunch of guys. Joe, Ricky, Doug, Burleigh, Chris. Love u guys Jess
LOVE THIS SONG
Always wanted to see Chris rock that Hammond solo. Nice when you can just mash a fist on some keys and still sound damn good :)
Though the original has far more appeal, this was a nice update especially for those who may not know this great group.
Another fav song
I agree with you. They are good but it's David's wonderful smooth voice that made Ambrosia the great success they were.Without him it's just not the same.
Asi es! David Pack, es el sonido!

Joe Puerta here is the founding member of Ambrosia.
