Have Fun, Super Ron!
All the way from south Africa. Good job Ron.
Wish we had you here..
I hear the weather is much better there 🤔 thanks for watching 😁
Amazing work , looks really good . Fuel system is a work of art looks mint . Keep up the good work. Roll on next week
Thanks for watching 😁 Shame the fuel system is hidden, at least we all know what it looks like 😎
You now need to pull your finger out and finish some of those projects of yours Ronnie.
*cough (rwd, turbo astra) cough* 😅
It's still on the list... one day 🤣 glad to see you back!
Good job Ron, the prep work really paid off. Well done!!
Thanks for watching 😁
Mate that's coming along well now.. huge inspiration for my mk1
Thanks for watching 😁
Alpine white?? That might have just been the Golf"s?? Still, shiny shiny, that's fun, now you get to bolt the £4+k in parts back onto it, click your ratchet over to righty tighty and let's go 😂
Good content as usual Ron, I like the way you illustrate the little technical anomalies, like the fuel tank evap not lining up, little things like that take a surprising amount of extra time so it's good your customer gets to see all those bits, plus his Caddy is on the Super Ron channel so it's all stored indefinitely for future reference.
I'm glad you are getting so much attention on this one, but it has to be said, you've done (dare I say it being a dub guy myself) much cooler cars in your other episodes, hopefully some of the new subscribers are digging through those gems!
Keep on fighting the good fight, catch you next week ✌️😁
Thanks for taking the time, I really appreciate it 😁🥇
Perfect! Great work!
Thanks for watching 😁
Awesome 👍👍😎✌️
Thanks for watching 😁
Fantastic work and stunning paint. Well done to you both. Owner will be very happy
Thanks for watching 😁
Looking spot on m8.... fair play that fuel system and the pipe work is mega.
Engine bay looks lush.... not sure my ocd could cope with that looking so good and body not (but I get it 😀)
Thanks mate 😁
Will be attempting a 1.8t next year in my mk1 love the content
Thanks for watching 😁
Nice work!!
Thanks for watching 😁
wow, I.did not know that the brake mechanics is 'routed' via rods to the brake servo in RHD. I mean have seen lots of RHD mk1 nays on video, but just did not realize that the servo has the LHD location . 😊
Yes a strange setup for RHD brakes. A bit complicated but it works! Thanks for watching 😁
Amazing work 👏
It's great watching this coming back together.
Thanks for watching 😁
Paint looks great! Really makes a difference
It definitely looks fresh all one colour 😎 thanks for watching 😁
Nice work. Caddy is going to look mint.
Thanks for watching 😁
Bet your chuffed to bits with it a Real credit to bud well done mate
Thanks for watching 😁 all the previous hard work is paying off now!
Well done man it looks absolutely amazing. Cant wait for the next upload keep up the exceptional work! Truly inspiring. Your content is underrated this channel needs to blow up...your build quality far exceeds other channels on UA-cam 👌👌👌
Thanks very much 😁 i do keep trying 🤞
Smart AF 😍
Thanks for watching 😁
@@SuperRon superb series Ron, never miss a vid! Workmanship is awesome as is the attention to detail! 🔥
Gloss black and white look sooo good! Great work Ron really enjoying these videos.
I noticed you didn’t mask off the mating surfaces on the powder coated parts, have you ever had issues with the coat flaking off after a while due to the vibrations through the part interfaces I.e the bolts holding the hubs to the callipers for example?
If they're machined faces, like hub mounts, caliper mounts, rear hubs, they're cleaned off to bare metal to ensure flatness, the end of the beam is actually taped up in the video and will peel off. but bolting up to the powder coating has never proved any problems for us. Thanks for watching 😁
Actually thinking about it we did have s problem with it all cracking when doing bolts up on the powder coating once, but that was on chrome powder coating and it was so thick it just chipped and cracked. But nothing on normal black 👍
Nice Work Ron. I’m now worried about my caddy tank! 😂
Also didn’t the ballpoint kit say to weld them to the hubs? I’m sure that was a requirement for them to be strong enough 🤔
The ball joint extenders? No they usually are assembled as factory. Thanks for watching 😁
Regards the hydraulic clutch. I would have welded nuts on the inside of the mount. Then threaded a bolt through the thread on the master cylinder and mount. I'm not a fan of drilling out where threads should be
You wouldnt be able clamp it up tight then with double threads. The bolts are the same size so it's only the threads that were drilled out, nothing structural
If i got the money to do this 😍
Thanks for watching 😁
Are you going to rub down, flat, or polish out all the runs in the engine bay?
P.S. I know some of it is paint over the top of the "factory" sealer, but still...
Where are you looking? I hadn't spotted any, but they will be if there are.
Literally in your opening shot, a few seconds into the video. Maybe 50mm down from the inner wing top and 50mm forward of the driver's strut top.
Even if that is paint over sealer, it looks awful (for a smooth engine bay). Not being picky, well I guess I am, but the rest of your work seems to be pretty good on the whole, so it just surprised me..
@@SuperRon sorry, replied above..
@stevehignett5701 the big blob? That's the factory sealer, if you has a run that big it would be on the floor 🤣
hi were did you find your break lines and which one brand is well and tell me also which one airbags did you use for both sizes from your caddy
The air ride suspension is by 'bags' and the brake lines I am going to make myself by hand. Thanks for watching 😁
can you give me some advice because l try to put new engine and suspension for my vw caddy and for sure you know what is the first step to make
@benjaminrodriguezgutierrez2002 first decide what engine you want, performance? Efficiency? Simple? Complex? If it's been done before there are bolt in mounts avilable. Lots of bolt on suspension upgrades available too
Was it only the engine bay sprayed white? Not the rest of the exterior?
We're getting it on the road as it is to test everything and no further mods needed in the real world, then the restoration will be done. 😁
Looking mega 👍🏻
Out of curiosity, how come you have only painted the bay? Is it not easier to spray the entire car whilst it's stripped? I'd be worried about over spray on the nice new shiny black bits.
No it's actually harder as you're leaning over everything you've just painted to reach other bits. We are really fussy on the masking so dont get any over spray 😁
That's me told and it makes alot of sense 😅 my car is in for paint next months but it's in for everything and tbh I was worrying about all the leaning over when fitting the engine again. Lots of blankets and protective films me thinks.
Why are you putting the windshield wipers back on? if you are going to spray the outside
We're going to get it all on the road and mot'd as is, test it all incase we have to modify arches, clearance bonnet etc in the real world, then do the bodywork
What a mess all that SAI stuff is😢 how much was your ocd wanting to throw some arps and forged bits in there😂
Haha, I think it's going to spin enough on standard power 😁
So here did you get the tank and do they ship to the USA
