Loved the improvisation in regards to the hike and adventure! Great to see you were successful in finding your falls! Visiting my relatives next week in Torquay, South Devon (born and bred there, now working in South Yorkshire). One day dedicated to a wild camp during a weekday on Dartmoor. Now cannot wait! Thankyou for sharing! Liked and Subscribed
Laura ,thank you so much for bringing beautiful Dartmoor into our worlds be it in a living room or a tower block or a bed sit , I’ve said it before , I long to be back on the Moors hopefully one day , have you tried the walk up too the Avon Dam , plenty of beautiful pools and Rhododendron lined banks , I used to take my sons wild swimming there in the Jet black pools , my parents took me there for smoky sausage bbq and a swim when I was a boy , one again loved your Vlog 🌟
I’m yet to explore the pools by the Avon dam, there is no a wide footpath up to the dam, I imagine once the pools were more secluded so I imagine you had them at their best
@@lauragriffithsoutdoors It was twenty years ago , so may be , but if I remember correctly , some of them are in deep gourges , terrible spelling sorry , by the path that goes up , I think they cut back the rhododendron quite a lot but hopefully that will grow back , I used to walk a lot on the moors and with the school , ten tors etc , and I remember Fox Tor Miers are very dangerous, one last thing …..their is a leet that leads too Plym Steps , it’s like a waterfall of Jacussi down a steep hill side , you just choose a pool , and it’s like a jacuzzi on different levels down the hill side , as I said happy wild walking , love your Vlogs and your dog .
Great to see you back, I enjoy your vids, that's a great spot although a bit mucky last time I was there from the rocks 😊 Tumble definatly looked happy 😁
Fantastic D365ing Laura! Great to see the route you did rather than straight down from the road. I think this is another case of without D365 one would never have found or bothered to go to this little gem - partly as there is so much to see in that square as well with the aqueduct and the Sarasen's Head (when it was there) and much more! Lovely video and your enthusiasm and sense of awe and wonder for the moor shines out! (Watch out for the ticks when wearing shorts but I am sure you know all about that and don't need me to lecture you!)
Black Tor is about 100 yards from the Yelverton to Princetown road. There are two places you can park opposite the tor. Just walk to the tor and down the hill and you are there. Easy peasy and only take 15 mins. Shavercombe waterfall has a small but deep pool.
I've never heard of that spot before. It looks lovely! Does knowing that we're all watching make you stay in longer and cry from the cold less than you otherwise would? :)
that’s such a funny thought, I actually in every video edit out so much swim time because it would be so boring to watch! I have been swimming in the sea and rivers for years, just need to know your own limits and your body
@@lauragriffithsoutdoors if it gets colder, you should dedicate a full video of you shivering post swim to show the aftermath. I would love to see that. Great stuff though! Thank you for replying!
That was beautiful, and yes, we're really lucky in the UK. So many diverse and complicated eco systems. Oh and you're beautiful too 😁 xx

I hope you get some nice weather next week for a camp, sounds like a nice break
Love the panting of your dog x
She’s such a little cutie 😍
Another nice vid and walk. Keep up the enthusiasm.
Great video as usual, going to get the Dartmoor 365 book and get out there. And it’s great to see more of Mr Tumble too! Thank you.
Another lovely walk. You are utterly charming my dear, as is Mr Tumble. I recognise this walk very well, the latter part. You are very intrepid 🌝👍
Thank you Hatty, I love that word “intrepid”

Think I’ll definitely get that book… what a great idea 🙃

Has the Sarasen's Head gone.
@@screwdriver222 It has but I am not sure if anyone put up a replacement. The old one basically fell apart.

Another great video 😀 would it be possible to add a link to where the parking is for your walks Laura?
I like the suggestion I shall think about the logistics of that

Waiting for some test results then I’m going to spend my last months tramping across dartmore
Sounds like your going through a tough time, I really hope you can get out and enjoy your time out there
Where is this on dartmoor? I put in black for falls however nothing came up on Maps. It looks amazing
Hi Kieron, if you look on the map between burrator reservoir and princetown you should see black Tor and the aqueduct, it is between there
Were you shivering at all?
Hello it’s not that cold yet in the rivers but is getting there

That would probably be quite boring but I could certainly do a video about after drop and how to avoid it/ ride it out and warm up
