It’s such a great walk via tacky cleave, way back is a bit dull but I’m not sure if that’s because I couldn’t see anything 😂 and yes tumble really is lovely 🥰
Devil's Kitchen is a fab swim spot, love it there. On the other side from where you were filming is a big long smooth sloping rock under the water which you can stand on and slide slowly down for 10 feet until you fall off the edge into the deep bit - fab :)
Such fond childhood memories of walking Tavy Cleve - when it looks like it is running uphill - and Fur Tor (my old 1inch Ordnance Survey map still has a proud stamp from the Fur Tor postbox)!
Thanks Laura for another great adventure. Bet your glad you weren't on Dartmoor last night. Tilly and I sat outside our holiday cottage watching the storm which appeared to come from that direction. Later when it arrived here (Slapton) Tilly had to have big cuddles as she is terrified of fireworks and storms. Thanks again .
Tumble singlehandedly lead you to the camping spot, then tended the cattle and so proceeded to ask for more cuddles.. she does it all !! 😄 🐶🍀 I will admit it, your enthusiasm for the outdoor is even stronger than mine. Happy to see you on the trails walking the miles again; Take care and stay safe Laura 😃🙂 👋
Nice video. It’s a slog to get there from the north if it’s wet. Just a shame it never feels that remote anymore. The last two times I’ve camped at Fur Tor there were several other people camping. Probably best to save it for mid week if you can.
Loved your video Laura I have never walked on that part of the moors and as you say it can be remote but also beautiful at times with amazing views. I spend a lot of time in wales and the Lake District however watching your video shows what is on your doorstep sometimes. Look forward to more of your adventures👏
So awesome to see Tumble out with you on this one. What a great interaction between tumble and the pony. Dartmoor always seems to have amazing scenery.
Great video, really enjoyed it. You can apparently cross the Tavy just below the pool where you swam and walk up the other side which is easier (not done it we missed the crossing last time we went that way too busy chatting!). I now take beach shoes with me for river crossing, hubby thinks I am nuts, but they have a bit more grip. Still haven't made it to Fur Tor (our preferred route in is via Lynch Tor) as they seem to be firing much more this year. Hopefully soon. Glad I found your channel. :)
We are going down the cleave this week, there are a couple of bits that are really not fun at all near the top, will see if we can get over but with all the rain! Hoping for one more swim before it gets too cold 😉🤣@@lauragriffithsoutdoors
Whichever route you take, a trip to Fur Tor always seems like an adventure. I think the easiest route is from Postbridge via Broad Down and Sandy Hole but I am also a fan of your outbound route via Tavy Hole and Lynch Tor to Bagga Tor Gate
That looked a really enjoyable camp great experience with the lonies and Tumble ! What a difference a day makes on dartmoor , cant beat a bit of dartmoor wet mist 😅. Have not been to dartmoor for about 4yrs now i should try and sneak one in in looks so great , usually i start at postbridge and head that direction area , thats the only part i know 😅👍
Laura, great to see you back 👍 That was a fabulous hike. Great place to camp and I can imagine on a nice day a spectacular sunrise/sunset. What distance was it?
@@lauragriffithsoutdoors I have the 25-2ul and the T28. I don't have a stand like yours but I'm thinking of getting the Trangia triangle which is similar. I have too many stoves 😅
Loved this! Great video
Nice, I'll be doing fur tor in October, probably north from Princetown or Fern worthy
Sounds great, no matter which direction the bogs are unavoidable
What a beautiful spot Laura...that Tumble smashes those paths and seems to know the route 😀...you're still one of two people I know who use "dimpsy" 👌
😂
Another really good video 😁😁 it always looks like so much fun and you make it look for easy 😅 keep up the good work Laura.
Thanks lovely
Only yesterday was I thinking about a trek to Fur Tor and a swim at Tavy Cleave.😀Tumble is lovely and must be great company. TY

I nearly died slipping off that rock one summer, my friend thought I was a goner! I went in so fast, Emma still brings it up 😅
Has to be the most remote spot in Southern England 😮
30 miles from my house
nice relaxing video, I might be coming to Plymouth for Uni, would love to go on one of these tours with you

Another Laura and Tumble adventure!!
She’s the best adventure buddy
Nice work Laura! I also reached Fur Tor (& Cut Hill) for the 1st time this year, although I didn't camp there!
It's proper remote! :)
Love cut hill for some reason I take that route from Postbridge , a great walk
Fantastic video, great views brilliant work thanks steve
Thank you 🙏

Tumbles cuddles are her best quality! Nice to see you enjoyed the video

That’s a shame that even there you get get away on your own, sounds I was lucky it was a weekday

So great to have a Dartmoor adventure with you again!
Great video thanks for sharing. I've camped on Fur Tor once - and it seems whichever way you use to get there - it is hard going!
Great video!, I’m off to North Dartmoor soon, going to camp at Black tor and Steeperton tor, can’t wait!
Amazing video thanks. Your enthusiasm is humbling and infectious. Dog cuddles are the best ❤
Joyful hiking. Thank you from America!😊

I have crossed and done the other side before but couldn’t find where I crossed, it all looked a bit dodgy! I think the beach shoe idea is great!

I’m glad it wasn’t mizzle both days!
I couldn't do this walk, reminds me too much of Bodmin moor.
Great video Laura
Fantastic ❤
Great video Laura! What tent do you use?
Hi it’s a Vango Nevis 200, my first backpacking tent, had it fir years and still my favourite, and very reasonable price
@@lauragriffithsoutdoors it looks great- might have to pick one up! Thanks!
Laura, great to see you back 👍

Tumble!
I don't go anywhere without my Trangia. They've just brought out a new one, i might have to get it 😅
Ohh I’ll have to look it up, what pot stand/ shield do you use?

Nice one Laura. Out of interest what navigation do you use ?
Hi Steve mostly OS Maps app for GPS
Your cheeks slowly got redder as you got further along from the start 😂 good vid.
free free dartmoor from so called land owners ???? dartmoor from cornwall to somerset should be free
