Oh Adam, I thought our son was gonna be a total athlete, his mom and dad were stars in high school. No. He hates sports, he’s so not athletic, he’s a total nerd, but our daughter, she’s our athlete! My husband finally gets to go to games and yell and scream, lol it all worked out.

I learned in my 20s that my Dad felt like he failed my brother and I because we played some sports but both ended up quitting sports because we preferred academics (like I quit basketball to focus on AP Biology). I had a nice adult convo with him that there's no failure at all! We just like different things. I do like to watch sports though and I did inherit my Dad's bad habit of yelling at the TV when watching football. xD

I was just like your son and now I love yoga, lifting weights and used to do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 7 times a week. Didn’t really get into anything until I was in my mid 20s. My dad had multiple football records and lettered in 3 sports. My mom was a high school track star.

Adam I think this is a great single topic to discuss on the show cuz it is very frustrating for women when men do barely anything and drop weight quickly.

I spent decades training like a body builder, and circuits, all “cardio with weights”. Now I see wayyy more gains when I train for strength. I love putting more weight on the bar. It also transformed my physique so fast. I’ll take a break from this style, but always love my strength/ powerlifting phases.

I seriously commend this group for truly getting into the shoes of this GLP-1 debate instead of only seeing it from the outside. To hear the whole crew is testing it out just to have a personal opinion on it is 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 this is not an easy space and there is so much debate and back and forth. Seriously love you guys

15:52 My 8 year old has a 55mph fastball and is very intuitive with baseball, wanting to play around at catcher. The most terrifying thing as a mom is seeing him in the backyard with my oldest who is 12, throwing 65-70. Thank god for catchers gear 😂😅
this makes coaching a 10U baseball team SO challenging. Some kids are brand new at this age and i maintain if someone is going to play baseball, a kids nervous system has to learn it intuitively. If not, you have some big 10-11 year olds throwing 65+ mph, and brand new kids at the same age, too scared to swing the bat. Get your sons into baseball!!! I thought it was boring until my then 5 and 9 year olds fell in love with it, and now it’s a beautiful part of our lives. ❤

You all are wizards ! This episode came out at the best time!
As I am re-analyzing my workout routine.
What I have done the past two weeks is: doing the big 5 lifts
4 days a week, with slow controlled moderate weight for 3 of the days and on the 4th I go heavy.
Based on this episode it seems that would be optimal to build a solid foundation ?

I'm about to switch over to MAPS HIIT and align that with 4 weeks of maintenance. I hope to do a cut after that... what would be the best programming at that point? I don't have gym access and workout at home with a few dumbells, a barbell, bands and a pull up bar. I also own Anywhere and Bands. Would a bodyweight/ calisthenics style program make sense during a cut? Thanks!!

Can you tell me how to get a GLP1? Every site I go on tells me I don’t qualify for it bc my BMI is 25-26. I don’t need to lose a lot of weight but due to my age (57) and hormones which I now have optimized, I just cannot get it off. I am doing everything you guys talk about. Workouts (MAPS aesthetic) right now, diet on point. Protein intake 1gm/lb of ideal body weight. My mind is healthy. Would really just like to try it and have not been able to get it online.

Hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things an athlete has to do. Just think about it, if you succeed 33% of the time, you're a guaranteed all-star elite level hitter.

Here’s the thing too, you can’t be dumb and be great at baseball. The two can’t exist together. The perception of the eye, processing speeds and intuition is just so incredible. Ive been living it as the mom for 4 years and still have a shaky understanding of it. I love kids playing it for fun (I’ll scrimmage my kids too but it’s not pretty lol)- but one of my kids is highly talented, and he’s on a travel team that’s basically mini-jock geniuses. Playful, wonderful, respectful group of young boys that synchronize like an MLB team on the field, but the most amazing thing is that 8 out of 10 are mathletes 😂😂😂

I agree with the labeling but also it can become insane. California is a good example. Like 8 billion warning labels about carcinogens but it's also on a potato. Like yes, potatoes naturally have a super low amount of lead but now people might not eat potatoes because it's labeled but they STILL don't have the education to understand what that actually means.

42:29 but it DOESN'T. If they come off of it, it's back to square 1. Not to mention that most use it for continuing bad habits and lying to themselves due to reduced detrimental effect while taking it.

Do you guys think you are abusing the use of the GLP-1? I wouldn't be putting this in your body. Do you really need it? What are you doing?

35:08 nonesense. If you had opened the "study" you'd know the the subjects couldn't even maintain 5KG weightloss (not fatloss, mind you) WITH taking the drug. Where 5KG was negligible compared to their bodyweight...

33:20 I appreciate your general intention with the podcast and that's exactly why I'm calling you out: you MUST do better!
That study is nonsense, and here's why:
    1. Funded by N0v0 N0rdisk
    2. Week 0-8 put all subjects on 800 kcal/day - states 'cos wanted to study maintaining weightloss...
    3. Subjects BMI 32 - 43 no diabetes.... I wonder if that's possible at all, but let's say, maybe
    4. Those who have achieved approx. -5KG in weeks 0-8, which is for participants BMI 32-43 meaningless, they were still obese... could continue, we don't know how many, so all groups are most probably underpowered i.e. results meaningless
    5. Up from week 7, 2 groups were encouraged, but NOT controlled for 2x week exercise
    6. Exercise was circuit training and ("vigorous") indoor cycling NOT controlled... so much about "muscle building"
    7. Food intake after week 8 was not controlled, for quality or quantity
    8. Weeks 52-104 nothing was controlled, so much about 2 year study
    9. "Missing data was implicitly handled by maximum likelihood estimation"
...I could go on. What I'm saying is, this is rubbish, NOT SCIENCE!!!
If you talk about a study, at least open it, even if you trust the one who posted....which, by the way in case of Layne you shouldn't.
Whatever the reason is you continue to push GLP-1, reexamine that, it won't go well in the long run, and it doesn't serve the purpose you say you're after: helping people. Educate yourself instead of trusting whoever you're trusting now, 'cos it's wrong. DO BETTER!
