I started my health journey 20 months ago because I received a call from my physician about my blood work indicating I would have a heart attack or stroke in 6 months without lifestyle changes. I was 480 lbs with 6.9 A1C n body fat percentage of 48.7 n on high blood pressure medication. Today, I weigh 299 lbs with 5.1 A1C n body fat percentage 26% n no longer on blood pressure medication. I feel amazing and blessed to have my health. I strength training 5 times a week and 45 minutes daily walk. I love going to the gym and how i feel after working out.

As someone who naturally had a baby after 40, I’m happy to hear that I have a good chance of making it to 90. Interestingly, my grandma had her 6th baby after 40 and she’ll turn 92 this year.

I am a 41 y.o. female I started my fitness journey 15 months ago. I went from over 40% body fat to 23% body fat in that time. I educated myself on nutrition and exercise because I want to be healthy for the rest of my life and not just for a short time. My advice to anyone and everyone who wants to make a change is to listen to this show, get your diet in order, and follow a weight training routine ( I recommend mind pump but you do you boo)

I started a health and fitness journey a little over a year ago. May 1st of last year is when I started. 15 days before my daughter was born. During that time I have lost over a 100lbs. I started this at 270 and I am currently at 145 and pretty soild. I am only 5'7, so I was seriously obese. I started listening to you guys about 3 months ago and I absolutely love listening to yall. I pretty much do exactly what you guys talk about and it has been so beneficial. I'd love to be able to chat with you guys sometime and pick your minds, so I can learn more. I'm 35 so I'm not getting any younger lol. Keep spreading your wisdom fellas 🙏🏾🤙🏽🙌🏽💪🏾

We did the 1000 hours outside last year with other families in our neighborhood and it was so good for our kids. But I think it’s completely dependent on the neighborhood. Our previous neighborhood had kids running around all day and we moved to a new neighborhood about 45 minutes away and we rarely see any kids outside.

I've been dropping weight this year. Tore my pec last July and this January decided there was no reason to weigh 234lbs when I wasn't going to be benching anything heavy for a while anyway. Found you guys around that time and have consumed all the videos on your channel. I've been working out for over 15 years but alot of the info you guys put out is game changing. When it comes to my diet now, I eat shitloads of Greek yogurt every week and believe it's changed my gut health tremendously. I eat high protein mostly from beef and chicken, I eat sweet potatoes often, and the weight has peeled off me. Down from 234lbs January 3rd, to 205lbs today. Haven't been this light in about 8 years now. I feel great, and MindPump has played a big part in re instilling things I knew but hadn't practiced in a while, as well teaching me some of the new research that has come out the past decade that I hadn't heard about. Great stuff. Thanks guys.

Im a new subscriber!!! Thank you guys for everything you do. Ive watched so many videos, trying to put the puzzle pieces together. It was cool to watch the videos from about 7 years go over the MAPS programs- and seeing where you guys are now. I have had a lot of struggle since 2021. I lost a lot of weight during covid in an unhealthy way Looking back on those photos now, I was so shredded but at the time, I didnt see myself as good enough. I understand my own psychology plays into this, it's a work in progress. but it causes me to have a really bad association towards losing body fat and feeling like it has to happen for me under extreme measure for me given that im 4'11. Since then, I have gained over 10lbs(some muscle), thing are getting better but It would mean the world to me to get to ask a question to you guys on where to go from where Im at now which is currently reverse dieting trying to repair my metabolism as much as possible, and honestly just have more peace. I feel like I wont be happy with my body unless it's through extreme measures I dont want that for me, my clients, or my future daughter if im so lucky..... I understand how I feel about myself may become her inner dialogue. Im also a fitness coach working in a company preaching sustainability. I do feel like I need guidance at this point. Thank you so much for everything you guys do. No matter what you have a lifelong fan. :)

My daughter is 8 and I recently participated in a field day at her school. Watching the kids try to do the relay races was a little sad, 10 minutes and most the kids were on the ground, some were crying. There is a serious problem with the lack of activity kids perform these days. When I was 8 we were already starting 2 a days in full pads during summer break and running through the woods and climbing trees the time between practices.

My advice is stay active everyday, walking, stay away from your fridge and fast food, drink water more often than soda, build muscle.

Great advice- now follow it!! Summer is around the corner. Start walking! Kilo by kilo the weight will start to move. Think about fitting into your old clothes and how you felt about yourself then vs now. The vast majority gained a ton of weight during the pandemic and that’s okay. The whole world flipped upside down. Try to get back on track- it sounds like you’re ready !

I need help PLEASE. I don’t know which program to buy. I am torn between maps 15 and beginner. I want 15 because it’s 15 minutes a day, at home. I am only able to make it to the gym on Sunday and Monday. However, although I’ve lifted over the years and know what I am doing while lifting, I lack knowledge on a lot of the basics. Also, I have only just started working out again in the past 4-6 months, progressively becoming more disciplined getting it done. (Still could use work on that though) I feel like I should do beginner but my daughter feels like I know “enough”. I am 58 with menopause belly. My arms are becoming more defined but I’m not shedding the fat. I have many clean habits but nutrition definitely needs work because I get weak.My concerns with 15 is it will be too hard for me (yet I need shorter workouts) my concerns with the beginner is that they will be too long. (Haven’t seen anything on how long they are). Can you please direct me on which route to take. If I get started and “feel” as though I can’t do something, I tend to give up. Please help.

I'm 37 yeara old, and im stuck in a pretty awful situation with my current body image and my relationship to workout and food. No matter what i do, i haven't been able to lose the 10kg of weight (mostly fat) which i have gained very rapidly out of no where. To cut it short, i really need your input on the diet im thinking of starting. It involves a toral of 93g of protein (all from natural source) and no grains as i feel thay quitting them may help with relief iny early hypothyroid symptoms - a total of 1200 calories approx, daily. Im want to reverse doet as my calorie intake have been pretty low for the longest time, and also very inconsistent . So ill start with this 1200 diet and increase 100 cal per week. Since this is the first time im starting reverse dieting and i feel like i struggle with understanding the concept fully, i want to know from you guys if this is the right approach and strategy? If not, then what do you suggest. Would really appreciate your response.

If you feel totally lost or aren't getting the results you want, it may be time to visit a medical weight loss clinic run by a competent doctor who specializes in integrative medicine and body recomposition. I get where Justin is coming from about kids playing football, but I'm still never gonna let my son play. It's crazy to me that kids are getting ACL surgery, and concussions before they can drive all because the adults in their life want them to "be tough." I get there's a risk of injury in every sport, and I'm sure I will get a bunch of comments talking about "how I never got hurt blah blah blah" cool story, don't care.

0:35 yes, but that's not the end of the story. Less muscle due to change in macronutrient make up of the same MASS of food (you can't consume calories, still), increased amount of ultraprocessed, shelf-stable, plant based slop, increased consumption of seed oils causing inflammation and reducing structure healing abilities of the human body

When you're lost, you absolutely need personalized guidance. And that's going to cost money. Either a personal trainer/dietitian who'll work with you or a doctor who specializes in medical weight loss and body recomp. Or both. Look for local services if they're available. Some medical weight loss clinics can offer telemedicine if you don't live nearby. The cost of treatment will surely be less than the long-term cost of medical care for multiple degenerative diseases of poor health. Your choice in the end.

It's the year 2024 so it is time to accept that around 20% of Americans are interested to care about nutrition and exercise.
There is under 10% chance imo that's an obese person will change. They "went sedentary" probably sometime around 8-15 and put out the fire of interest in movement. So they quit more than it looks on the surface.

Isn't it interesting that every time we solve what we consider problems we create more? I mean air conditioners are great and all but we need to sweat if we want to purify certain Metals out of our bodies just like having cars are great but we need to get back to walking and carrying and having that time to process and I say that because anytime I go hiking or jogging or rucking all I bring is my keys and I don't need music or anything. If my forefathers could do it, I can do it

You're possibly not eating more but people are definitely drinking more of their calories. The average Starbucks is 700 calories most of the people that I know and associate with on a day-to-day basis go out for two coffee or lattes a day. Right there is a full calorie intake for a woman everyday. Not to mention that we eat out at a far greater rate than we used to which is a calorie cow, so there is no possible way that those studies are accurate. I don't disagree with you in that it is absolutely a lack of muscle problem as well but I don't think you're changing the obesity rate by sending people to the gym and not changing their diets drastically. I know I didn't get fat because I was eating so little but was a huge wimp, I got fat because I was eating out everyday for lunch at 1800 calories, then going home and having 2,000 calories for dinner and then drinking 2000 calories of booze in between. Eating more calories to build muscle wouldn't have solved my issues.
