This is especially true of a nation with a historical record of rampant injustice from its beginning, whose list includes murder, mayhem, mischief, and misery.
In the game of geopolitics, there are no permanent friends...only permanent interests. This is significant in understanding US foreign policy. It's all a game of soft power for the world powers and Africa is left picking up the pieces. Unless there's significant infrastructure investment in Africa like the US did for Europe post world war 2, there will always be a contention within the consciousness of Africans across the globe against the west due to the continous attempts at exploitation. Modern science and historacal facts cannot be disputed. Way too many wrongs against a group of people who are the fundamental ancestors of all humanity. I feel the west assumes that they've done a very good job of conditioning and people arent particularly cognizant of the wrongs that continually normalized. The atrocities commited against Africa caused the continent to miss out on the industrial age and every significant attempt at catching up is somehow sabotaged. How do you expect to keep a group of people in subjagation in perpetuity? if they are indeed human like you, you'll reckon differntly ...
@Diddancing: Thank you for posting this. The west loves to focus on "corruption" while downplaying the destructive effects of generations of colonization, apartheid, and neo-colonization. Niger and Haiti are typical end results of long term domination by the west and those examples are the desired end results for the rest of Africa outside of those places with white settler populations. The normalization of the subjugation of black people has been globalized and normalized by the west to the degree that many black people see it as a permanent and acceptable and unchangeable norm.
