Same here, new Zealander with euro ancestry and have often wondered since childhood how places here in nz got their names from the other side of the world!! The indigenous māori names are so much more beautiful and are connected to the land as I'm sure the same goes with other indigenous around the world including Africa.

They are invaders, intruders, infiltrators and incestuous inbreds. The Oriental people, the Hispanic people and the European people have psyched themselves into believing that there are separate races of people in the world. We're all humans. Our perception of human life should not have this level of ambiguity. We humans must not forsake our purpose for being created. We must be in service to one another for the pleasure of our Creator. That's all.😇🤔

As a Gambian and spending time in the village every summer, I learned that we have names for almost all lakes, tributaries, rivers etc. that are not colonial. Some places have two/three names because our people refuse to adopt the colonial names. Example. Janjabureh was named after British guy named McCarthy and the later renamed Georgetown.

No group of people in the world is more educated than Afro-Americans concerning the European escapades to conquer, indigenous people of the world.
American black revolutionaries have been in farming, black Americans of what and how they did their thing for years
I am very happy to see that African people are catching up or educating themselves to the tactics of colonialism.
I wish that I could go to Africa, and demonstrate the depths of what they did, because if I could
The Africans would not let me come back.

@@Odin00 The answer is no, however the black revolutionaries i was referring to are all in-alive.
Nevertheless , I support all people who are in the struggle against oppression.
However, my point was that African leaders/people find it difficult to understand white imperialism because they were oppressed by their own kinsmen who actually promulgated governmental policies.
Here in America we are still actively fighting against oppressive regimes that still foster white supremacy culture and ideologies. African still has a long ways to go but I am proud of the progress.American culture systemically
keep black people divided while African culture keeps African people divided.

And because of slavery, most black Americans do not completely know their ancestry. We do not know the country of our ancestors. But ask a white person this and they will gladly tell you from which country their ancestors came to US.
The US tells us to Let It Go, to let go of the past, to let go of slavery. But in the US you will find annual Civil War reenactments, as well as reenactments of other Wars. But they tell us, black Americans, to let it go.

Don't lose faith in the scriptures written by our ancestors just because former colonial powers and their friends added images of themselves to these scriptures to ensure their people can benefit from them without knowing Africans had anything to do with them. Just because they call Lake Victoria, Lake Victoria, it does not mean we should drain it out and take it out of existence. Simply changing the name is enough. I am really envious of how my mother practices her religion as a Christian, using traditional African religious practices white people may call voodoo or witch craft. I wish I could do the same. Great stuff as always. Thanks for the updates. Peace and love

As a Human Being of mixed descent and a child of apartheid Sth Africa- they tried to make me think poorly of my Afrikan roots. Apartheid tried it's hardest to divide our Family and succeeded in some areas and failed in others.
I too was fooled by the history they indoctrinated me with. I have always been proud of my Afrikan Ancestors and Honour them. It pains me to see now what my Europeans Ancestors did to the Afrikans. And I call for Reparations to be paid by those Colonialist European Nations to Acknowledge the Wrong, Destruction, Devastation, and Theft they committed. That they Apologise for the Inhuman Acts they perpetrated on the Afrikan People and Economic gains they made and continue to make because of a Selfish, Sick Exploitative ,Divisive Economic & Psychological System that at its basis lies Disrespect of Human Beings based on the falsehood of superiority, race, colour and greed. A system of Evil design, devised to exploit the Afrikan Human Being from whom we are all descended. That was the Height of Disrespect and needs to Be made Right as uncomfortable and hard as it is.

Grievances, grievances, and grievances. We know all this already. We have been beaten, abused, etc... How do we get up? That is what I want to know. It is not the White Man only. Before Him were the Arabs. I would like to know why Africans absorb everything that outsiders put in front of them. In Nigeria, the Hausas are willing to kill their neighbors, Ibo or Yorubas who are Christians, and vice versa. I believe we find these types of situations all over Africa. As for myself, I chose to become an animist, trying to understand Africa's ancient beliefs.

If you don’t know the original name, give it a new name that has cultural meaning to the people. Also stop speaking the colonizers language as your main language. Now that’s decolonization for you. We all have found ourselves somewhere we called earth, world. We are surround by mysteries. If despite all these, you have perceived and conceived yourself in a such away that it becomes a contempt to the beings around you, you are not only writing or rewriting others' history in a negative light, you are writing or rewriting your own history too in a negative light. Because what human beings is called to achieved and that they can only achieve it by making themselves as disruption not only to others but also to the balance?
What is the greatness and pride of human beings as specie in the universe when the content of that greatness and pride equate the misery, suffering, pain, dehumanization, etc of others who belong to the same and unique world they all have in common?

Africa doesn't need special Ed services they need independence like they don't know who's against them my only problem with the country slash continent is all the individuals FLAGS given by coninizer and when it's trouble I hear look how they are treating Nigeria south Africa Kenya and the rest but in the same breathe say as long as they don't touch Ethiopia so that doesn't sound like all for one and one for All peace ✌️.

The problem is the clarirty of thinking on the part of the oppressed.
Consider that European history is replete with examples that indicate more than 3500 years of continuous wars and oppression. Nearly 1700 years ago Constantine united the 2nd Roman Empire under the umbrella of Christianity.
Unfortunately, the adoption of the new religion did not stop the continuious wars and oppression, or the torture and false imprisonment of common folks, or the stealing of land and control of natural resouces, that European common folks relied upon.
If they would not treat their own common folks well, the it is ridiculously delusional to think tha they would treat others well.
How has Christianity and the various modifications of improve them as a nation or as individuals.
It should come as no surprise when the same emotional immaturity that shuns the adult responsibility the requires that behaviors commited to justice is absent as related to those whom the invaded.
Any nation that mistreats its own citizens, especially the least of those citizens, should be expected to behave any better when they encounter others.

@komiczar: Exactly! All of the means of oppression and repression and domination which would be used on other continents had been perfected in Europe long before 1492.

@@dpeasehead Thank you for your comment.
As it is important to critically observe the emotional immaturity of those who oppress, repress, and dominate others to the deluded fanciful whims.
It is also even more important to objectively perform cross-examinations of our own thinking as to why the oppressed are "Out-thunk," to the extent to blindly accept the oppression, repression, and dominance of those with such low beastly standards.
There is no benefit in Living up to the low standards of others.
