As a 26 year old male, my current and previous amp have both been Vox. A friend of mine who is younger and makes his living playing guitar swears by his AC30. Vox are absolutely relevant to the younger generations.
I bought one of these as soon as I saw a picture of one without hearing what it sounds like. It didn’t matter what it sounded like because it looks cool. I always wanted a super beatle amp and I figured this was as close as I would get. When it arrived I was amazed at the sound from this amp. It sounds great for playing beatle songs as well as other Vox tones. I highly recommend this amp
I'm a younger guy and I just gotta say that Vox is my favorite brand for amps and they are the only amps I have, and seeing this makes me super excited for the future of Vox. It's definitely a must have for me.
I know it's kinda late, and i don't know if you've seen it already, but there's a guy called Lando27Music that compared them, check that video out! It's a great comparison
Because of this vid, I picked up a used one last weekend! It's such a fun little amp and perfect for playing at home. Put a nice overdrive in front of it and it'll sing, even at low volumes. One thing not many folks are talking about is the 4/8/16 ohms switch on the back. It also has two speaker outputs! At 4 ohms - 50w, 8 ohms - 25w, 16 ohms - 12.5w. I plugged it into a PRS 1x12 cab with a 16 ohm Celestion V-Type and it sounded great, perfect for home use, and since it kicked it down to 12.5w, it can be cranked a little more to get it cooking.
I own this amp and it is absolutely versatile. From that classic bright vox notes to warm almost modern clean and even blues and punk rock. This amp covers it all.
I'm from the 90s and play in all kinds of modern musical genres in bands and solo, and I have owned and used several Vox amps. my current main amp is an ac15 through an orange open back extension cab. Vox are just good amps, the sound can be used for prettymuch anything, it's just a matter of knowing how to use it to get the tones you want.
i just got one of these and ummm its SWEEEEET! i use it now in my studio pretty much 90% of the time.. no joke for the price its so good.pretty loud too if you need. ive now fullfilled my midlife crisis...this plus my new chinese ricky
Love me some Vox. This amp has my curiosity! Looks like a nice little thing to have around the house. I think there are plenty of young players that still enjoy this kind of sound
I just bought the bass version of the superbeetle. It is one of the coolest amps i have ever owned, and i was blown away by how high quality its tones are and how loud it is.
As a young person who honestly just wants a good amp tone regardless of solid state this and tubes that I think this would be a great upgrade from the filth that is the Marshall Code. It would be ideal for jamming with mates and if I ever decide to play gigs I can always just buy a 212 cab for it
Hell, if you don't need super clean and massive bottom end, you could gig with it as is since damn near every gig these days, the amp is mic'd anyway! 25 watts in this config is more than enough in that situation. There are plenty of people that gig with a Princeton Reverb which a 10" combo and like 12 watts! All depends on your musical style.
Marshall is seemingly becoming irrelevant. They've made too much crap that has soiled their name. Orange and Vox are dominating the mainstream amp market imo.
So you could not make your marshall Code sound the way you wanted it to! That's really all on you Mate. I admit I sent my first one back but I got another and after learning how to set it up I hear very good tones. But yes it does take some definite learning and the willingness to spend the time learning how to make it sound really good.
I am literally in the same situation. I got my Marshall code 50 back in 2018. Worst gear acquisition I’ve made in my entire life. It’s worse than my cheap Stagg amp I got when I started playing 12 years ago. A month ago I got my hands on the VOX Pathfinder 10, and I couldn’t have been more impressed by its sound quality and price tag. I am planning on getting the minibeetle since it’s really affordable, it’s an incredible deal and the sound quality is amazing on every sound demo I’ve listened to. I’m planning on testing it at my local guitar store next week. I’ll sell my garbage code and buy this one instead. My second option would be the orange micro dark, with a 2x12 Harley Benton vintage 30 cab. Im getting another amp just for gigging, and I mainly need a head and a cab in case I’ll ever need to perform live.
@@themadlib1060 I couldn’t agree more. They’re just desperately clinging on to their brand name, they fell off incredibly hard. It’s really sad because they used to make good products in the past.
Bought one love it for that vox sound. also bought Fender Champion 50xl from Andertons . Love it too. Went way over my budget for the month but what the H____ .No regrets. Beautiful Fender cleans on Champion 50xl. Both amps give you that desire sit down and play. Nutube is amazing on the Mini Super Beetle. My Christmas is Complete. No sacks of coal here.
This vox amplifier, already having a Marshal x la les paul and the Rickenbacker 350v'63, well I think I will take it to keep it at home, it has incredible both the appearance but also the sound is not bad...great video boys..
Love the amp, just grumping because people always seem to release a cool new amp just after I bought a new one! Would love to hear it through a 2 x 12" though as well.
Damn, that OUTTRO, it is 0700 where I am at as I watch this and my head is bopping and my mind has me thinking that I should be in a rusty ole pub on a stool watching this. Serious would buy the band a beer if I were. So good.
@@45zapatero it really does sound great actually find mine at a guitar center used and I love it I'll get with it it can even keep up with the drummer and apparently if you've been put it on four ohms it can produce even 50 Watts of tube power even though it's a one speaker cab it puts up the same amount as my 100 watt 2x12
Have this same amp, small but great tone! Mic’d up in a decent sized church! Sounds great! Fender Strat through my semi-inexpensive pedal board. Got some tones in some of my videos! Love the channel!
I owned the real deal back in the 60s. It was a frustrating experience for me because the Super Beatle was solid state and sounded pretty bad when it clipped, and I was a blues player trying to get an overdriven sound. I bought it used and it was already on its last legs when I bought it. Shortly thereafter the frame fell apart, so my bandmates and I had to schlep that extra heavy 4-12 cabinet about from gig to gig. Thankfully I don't recall much else about that beast, except for one thing. It had a switch that, when flipped, emitted a high E note -- same as the pitch of the 1st string on a guitar. I used that switch so often to tune my guitar that, to this day, I can picture that sound in my head and tune a guitar to it, and if I'm not dead on, I'm very close. Heck of a thing to remember about an amp, huh.
I do the same thing with my Roland Microcube which has a built in 'pitchfork' which is tuned to the A-string at 3 different pitches, 432Hz, 440Hz and another i can't recall. Sometimes i let that A ring out in my head and when i tune it and match it up with a tuner, i come pretty close to 440 Hz, but even when its off its close to 432 Hz which i prefer. Cool to know someone else dos the same thing!
Just found out it fits in my very compact mini mini studio; Vox Mini Super Beetle 50W Amp Head & 1x10 Dimensions (W x D x H): 323 mm x 180 mm x 596 mm /12.7" x 7.09" x 23.5" :)
I got excited about this as soon as it starting showing up in the SNAMM coverage. But except for short clips, there wasn't playing through it on demos. With this video, that excitement for the MSB25 is now full blown G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)!
Good LORDY that end jam...!!! I have a Vox AV30 that sounds pretty darn good but I may add one of these to my "cave". I'm watching to see if they build one that combines all the nu-tube voices into one amp...like an AV series but with nu-tubes built into the circuit.
Wonderful little amp. I have the Union Jack version and they do like to be pushed a bit. Not to huge volumes but if you want grit it will be in the naughty territory!
The Vox amp was cool, but that ending jam was awesome!! Cap'n, you've come a long way, and Pete...what can you say about Pete!!!!! Missed you around these parts lately.
Cool loop at the end. That guy plays with true feel..finger touch...Both these guys play very nice. Well done lads! Probably won't buy amp. If you've seen one up close they are very small.
The most British review of the most British amp!
Cheers mates
Al Al most british amp? Do you know a brand called "Marshall"?
Where was it made, again? Who owns the company? As British as flied lice. (EDIT: This is not a racist comment.)

Dear jkinthewind wife - your husband is officially allowed to buy a Vox Super Beetle.

Hot damn Lee, them chops at the end!
Really good and the guitar/amp combo sounded fantastic
im not a big blues fan but he was quite convincing

The captain keeps getting better. I really like the amount of feel you really have.
Love to hear this next to an AC4. They’re about the same price and both 10” speakers.
Neil Walsh THIS. It nas better tone a reverb and a tremolo.

That intro is the musical embodiment of being in "vacation mode".
Sounded like "Then there was you", which might have been a good guess, given the references that came after.

'Til There Was You' from the musical 'The Music Man' that the Beatles covered.

I'm relatively younger. Early 30's and I'm going to buy one now bc it can still be driven for good heavier tones and do the surf rock at the same time
The TEA sipping musical accompanyment was a brillant intro!!! =D
Loving that improv on Till There Was You in the beginning
Pete and his Tele could sell me on just about anything. That jam at the end was insane.
Oooooooooooooooooh i have been excited about this tec from vox for ages and im defenetly saving for one of these :)
That version of "Till there was you" at the beginning was really good!
