I love how Lee’s playing is evolving over the years. Its such a pleasure to watch him breaking away from his usual licks and growing as a musician. Its inspiring really.
Makes sense though, seeing as how he hangs around with guys like Rob Champman, Rabea and Pete as often as he does. 3 very different styles were bound to rub off on him in some way. Wish I had some of that influence! :)
Don´t forget the private lessons from Justin :D
It stayed the same apart when he took lessons at Justin 😅
@@hawedehre Yeah I kind of take it back a bit now... he's pretty stagnant. :) He didn't really seem to absorb what Justin was trying to teach him - he seemed to just want to learn licks instead of how to find his way around the neck and understand a bit of theory.
@@BaronsDuju everyone's journey is different.
I'm a simple man. I see that purple Tele, I hit that like button because I know there's some beautiful sounds about to be made.
I like that Pete looks genuinely pleased when whomever he's jamming with does something cool.
You can clearly see how inspired Lee's playing gets when hes jamming with Pete instead of Rob. (i like Rob)
F rob
@@NintenDub Thank you so much for sharing
Looks like Justin's school of soloing is coming along nicely, Lee. You sound good, man!
Hard to believe, but the playing of both keeps getting even better - well done! Great review - thank you!
Man, that strat sings. And lovely playing by both. The best I've heard Lee play. Well done sir.
Love demos with Pete like this! He's brilliant!
Pete is such a wonderfully expressive player and his phrasing is excellent. Always a joy when he is in an amp demo.
The fruits of Lee's labour showing in the jam - loving it!
12:22 - thats is the nicest chord progression I have heard in a while. This video in general has such nice playing in it from both Lee and Pete. Thanks for sharing, guys!
The intro was a fantastic bit of soulful, heartfelt playing by Pete and the Captain! NIce new VOX amplifiers to play through and inspire as well.
Nice and classic, Pete's tele is probably the best sounding guitar ever to be crafted in history
The Captain is improving all the time, really good to watch.
Aw Lee!!!!!!!!!! Sounding Stellar!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s so cool to hear you getting so much better! I love your feel and your musical ideas - this stuff with Justin I think has really helped you manifest them. Keep it up man - you’re bloody great
Lee, wow you sound so confident and flowing now! It’s amazing the difference in your playing man’ hats off to you. Keep up the great practice! 🎵👌🏻
This is some of the best tone and playing I’ve ever heard on UA-cam. Awesome!
I have NEVER watched a video of Pete and The Captain without picking up my guitar right after. Such amazing tone/playing. I cant wait to visit the store next year.
Anyone else thinks Lee's playing on the intro jam was his best ever? Those lessons with Justin are really paying off, big time!
Absolutely. Fantastic.
Dude he fuckin killed it. He's become a monster player.
That’s the best I’ve ever heard Lee play! The lessons seem to be paying off!
That run to you impromptu was so unbelievably perfect.
😍
Pete you are a truly great guitarist.
The Captain is killing it.Sounds great. Love Petes sound and of course the Purple Tele.
That clean sounds beutifully good.. nice...
I think this amp sounds beautiful. Might have to get my hands on one. The playing was as good as I've seen on this channel. Great job guys
Always enjoy Pete's playing..
So much goodness going on. The amps, the playing, all four guitars but especially the Les Paul and Tele...Cap getting dynamic... and that LP on the neck pickup ✊Pete for President
Yes, Captain. Yes, yes, yes! Lovely playing.
After last days match this cheers me really up. ;) Amazing playing guys!
Greetings from Germany :D
I would honestly pay $20 for an album with all your intro jams on it.
No you would'nt!
Amazing licks Captain. You are an inspiration as I have similar history and taste. I also started too late and it helps see you still improving over the years!
wow I've watched a ton of these and that run up in the beginning was inspired. thanks for that.
I think in all of the reviews over the years you can tell when you hit on a tone or product that you really love. Excited Pete sure fits into that category on this one!
Pete is magic !
That sounded fabulous. Great playing, great tones.
Lee! Can really hear the new chops coming in on this vid, awesome man
Great demo, the Captain has been practicing getting out of that pentatonic, his soloing was interesting and very musical ! Yay Justin, good job and good job Lee ! Oh and guys, please use that Paloma more, I love it ! ;)
MusicHyde I have a laptop soft case with your channel picture on either side🤔🤔
Look at Lee adding in all those major scale notes! Great progress man!
Absolutely love the headroom on the Vox Ac30s1!
Also, I'm loving the videos with Pete and Captain! Don't get me wrong, I love Chappers and Lee's videos, but I love the presenter chemistry of Pete and Lee!
great sounds from that Vox. Had fun watching this.
you just cant stop loving Pete more!
Tasty tones from the Captain, Godlike majesty from Danish!
Real nice jam gentlemen!
Enjoyed that one.
Thanks
Pete is always throwing in great references! First with Mayer licks and now Tom Misch. Love it!
Lovely jam at the start gentlemen....just lovely!
I love how Danish Pete just seems so eager to play. It inspires me to try getting better at improvising on guitar.
Best i've ever seen lee play - well in!
i know how how heavy they were i had to carry mine up 1 flight of stairs after playing at gigs in 1962 it had 2 handles my back was strong i was 19 but the sound from the amp was perfect thank you VOX!!!
Wicked demo. Pete's the man.
You guys made me want this amp so bad!!! Sweet playing guys, nice and tasty chops!!
wonderful thanks, heavenly sounds
I’m a huge fan of Spanish Pete and the Admiral! The ac30s1 sounds amazing by the way.
Double denim is and always will be cool. Pete is the man. His playing is top drawer. And captain you’re getting better every day😎
You probably know this, but worth noting, it is known as a Canadian Tuxedo.☺☺☺
Way to sell a Vox product: keep Rob out of the room. Lol.
So true, Intro jam was so tasteful.
-SHREDSHREDSHREDSLOPPYSHREDSHRED-
Love Rob, but his playing has really plateau'd lately.
Oh, I like Rob. And I think he is a good player in his preferred style. But these amps really benefited from a player exploring the dynamic possibilities within the clean headroom. Likewise I find Dan Steinhardt’s playing through a Vox a little too “pushed” a lot of the time. Granted, I probably gravitate to Strats rather than Teles for that reason. Still, this video left me very interested in trying this amp.
yes please keep him out of that room please, this is so much more fun
Rob's a better and more successful guitarist than his detractors.
Magic playing again guys love it
AC3OS1 sounded great.
Damn Lee, the practice is really paying off. Your vibrato has always been stellar, but the expanded phrasing and note selection is really nice and much appreciated. We all get into our ruts and as many Anderton's videos I watch I kind of know what everyone is kind of going to do. Fantastic job.
What a beautiful sounding amp. I'm slowly but surely becoming a major VOX aficionado.
That jam at the start was absolutely mind boggling
I totally agree about Keith Scott! The solos he plays are amazing. I particularly love Cuts Like a Knife! BTW The Vox AC 30 S1 sounds awesome.
The tones man, beautiful
Vox for life.
Omg Pete, please do more tutorial videos about your loops and how to play over them. This was amazing
That purple Tele give me chills every single time!
Lee, u is getting betterer and betterer.
Best intro jam ever!
DOOD, Pete's playing in this is FANTASTIC
holy smokes, the payling in the opening was beautiful! Gotta agree with the other comments, Petes Tele is incredible!
The Captain's Les Paul is just sooooo nice sounding.
Lee you sound Awesome as well as Pete. Very enjoyable 👍
More Pete and Lee reviews :)
What a fantastic job!
Yes fellas love for keith scott, amazing player especially live 👌
Lee you're awesome man! You should def. play more in these vids!! Cheers from New England Gang!
All the thumbs up just for the intro all on its own. That is the kind of playing I aspire to
Great playing from both you guys at the start there
37.36 of joy guys and cool to see an amp that actually does not really need boost/od pedals. That could be gigged on its own. You got me interested in vox first time ever.
Both sound delicious!! Especially the Fender’s.
Lee's ear for solos has really come on. Really enjoying his bits
Bravo gentlemen!
I've had the AC30S1 for a few months now and I don't see myself owning another amp for the rest of my life. Sure, I might have to replace some stuff in it, but it works great with my pedals and sound amazing clean. Can't wait to bust it out at gigs once those exist again.
What pedals do you usually use with vox?
@@SergeiVlassov Ironically, I ended up selling the AC30S1, lol. But I immediately replaced it with an AC15, same amazing sound, smaller, lighter package. I use mostly dirt pedals, Benson Preamp, Turbo Rat, and a ToneBender. I love the way they interact with the amp and its chime.
@@judehill4502 you prefer turbo rat over classic rat? I have AC4C1-12 at home, with Greenback speaker. Love the tone, but not impressed when using RAT into it.
@@SergeiVlassov Honestly, I'm not even sure if I love it. I'm typically not a distortion guy, I prefer fuzz really any chance I get, but my favorite fuzz is getting repaired and I found a good classic Turbo Rat so I figured it was worth a try. It's been a few weeks since I gigged with the AC15 and Rat so I don't remember exactly how they sound, but I don't remember hating the sound.
I always find it endearing seeing how much joy you guys get out of playing Bryan Adams tunes. Even Chappers gets that boyish excitement going when he plays "It's Only Love". haha
Yes Pete! Lost in Paris - Tom Misch at 15:00! Love that tune! 👌🏻🎵
that clean is amazing
Love you guys!!!
Teles and Voxes together are magic.
Tha banter at the beginning ❤️❤️
New amp sounds great. Love the headroom and bass.
I have owned this amp since it came out. I absolutely love it and is my favorite amp I have ever owned (I owned a Vox Ac15C1, Fender DRRI 65, Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb, Marshalls, Blackstar). The clean sound is classic Vox, but easier to dial in. The gain is definitely more modern but works really well. The digital reverb is really not an issue, it sounds as good as a spring on the Voxac. Definitely worth the money if you are into the Vox sound.
Pete is the coolest.
Dudes can play!
I'm thinking about buying a Vox amp.
You guys answered questions that I didn't even think of!
I love how Lee messes up a bit at 3:42 and recovers so perfectly. A lot of players would have really been thrown off for a second.
God bless!!! I’m a Tele guy all the way. But that Les Paul sounded amazing on the amp.
Lee’s chops are getting better and better.
I have the AC10 and get compliments on that tone. This is making me want this AC30 for gigs.
Update: Bought it back in September in 2019. This AC30 is killer!
Pete you are the coolest
Sounds like VOX's got a new winner! good job.
Double Denim is a win, because it's Danish Pete, wot is my dude crush. I like the amp, I'll try one out in person soon hopefully.
I liked them all but damn that Les Paul and Vox lead tone was beautiful!
I just looove the sound of a driven Vox. It just seems to have more punch than other amps. They never seem to fizz - Goodness, it's really hard describing amp tones but whichever way you cut it, I love it!
Yeah, I love cranking my AC15 up all the way (not that I ever get the chance, living in an appartment). If you crank up both the master and preamp volume, it seems to get clearer/less fizzy than without the master volume turned up.
Right, they don't sound fizzy like Marshalls.
I've owned one of the for months and I can tell you it really is a wonderful amp. Definitely not a bedroom amp at all. Easy to dial in a great tone. As far as pedals go, not sure why anyone would use pedals when the natural break up is so great but you can tweak the controls enough to use any pedal. Best to think of this amp as voxs answer to fenders hot rod deluxe or marshalls dsl40. Just a good midsized combo that you can gig with and won't break the bank.
