  • The Denver, South Park, and Pacific Railroad was a narrow gauge r.r that operated from 1872 until 1894, crossing some beautiful territory in Colorado. Despite having shut down over a hundred years ago, the line is still remembered and loved by railfans, some of whom, seek to restore a section of it, at the town of Como, Colorado. Today I interview the leader of the operation, and he talks about how they've succeded in restoring a significant part of their goal, such as a roundhouse, a steam engine, various freight cars, and relaid some track. They've also restored the old Como depot! I myself volunteered to relay track in August 2020, it was great!
Please check out their website, where you can contact the volunteers, read about their mission, and how you can help. You can also learn some history about the trains of Como!

Please help support them financially, right now, you can donate to help them restore a very rare Colorado & Southern boxcar, one of the last C&S boxcars in existance today. They make the most of your support, buying supplies and other stuff to fix the car up to it's old condition, so even $5 dollars is of big help!

Please support them in anyway you can, I have volunteered for them personally, and they are wonderful people!

To the interviewer: Write down your questions and make them specific so that you don't ask the same ones several times as you did here. To answer your question about when the Railroad (most important goals) will be finished : RR museums are never ending projects; there are always car and loco restoration projects, track projects, building replacement or restoration and on and on and you will find 10 years from now there will be just as much demand for volunteers as now. It always encourages volunteers if there are realizable goals like getting an engine running or having a moving train.

I hope they will get the railroad done soon. And I hope they can some more narrow gauge steam locomotives to operate there.

Do you know if the ties are shortened for the narrow gauge track? I'm assuming the donated ties are coming from standard gauge lines. I visited the Roundhouse in 1981, it was a horse barn at the time with two or three horses in the roundhouse.
