The Beatles had come out with their White Album with a track titled “Revolution 9” and that is where you’ll find probable inspiration behind some of that odd sounding stuff. Other than that this would be a second reference to a Beatles theme from Sega in this period that I’m aware of now, remarkable. Sonic the hedgehog’s arch nemesis was Dr Robotnik, or nicknamed Eggman. For whatever reason the developers in that era ALSO made Dr Robotnik appear more like a walrus, and subsequently was referred to as such on occasion. If you don’t have much knowledge on The Beatles’ music than I’d understand how this would pass over you. If you’re a fan of The Beatles than surely you’ll see the connection. Makes me wonder just how many OTHER sega based games from the early and mid 90’s have Beatles references hidden in them? How cool.
