- Today we test out some prototype slugs the Ballistic Machinist made about 5 years ago and never tested. He recently found them and decided to let us test them out!

I know for a fact that the company does not give content creators items for free. They do have a content creator program, but they do not give them away.

20:40 I was surprised to see how shocked they were at the sight of a blood filled condom. For some reason, I expected them to know that it's common practice in cinema and television to employ such things to simulate oozing gunshot wounds. The condom is resistant enough to allow for free and easy movement of the actors until their characters are shot without breaking (well... usually!), but fragile enough that a little remotely detonated squib will not only puncture it, but produce a small, but visible, splash of the fake blood contained therein, and large enough (*ahem*... gentlemen) to accommodate more blood than required for the little splash, allowing for some gory oozing for the R rating.
We had no idea.
My suggestion to remedy the overpenetration in the gel block is to use a lead core with brass petals, that way the powder charge can be kept the same, while also increasing the soft tissue performance with the added weight and deformation

I've got to tell this story about frog brains. Back in the day, I was fortunate to take high school biology where we had real animals to dissect, clams, crawdads/crayfish, and extra-large bull frogs. The frogs had blue and red dye in the veins and arteries so you could trace the circulatory system. The brain was always pink because of the dyeing process. Our biology teacher was explaining the procedure for using a scalpel to scrape the thin strip of scull away, from between the eyes, so the brain could be removed intact. His comment as he was demonstrating was, "don't slip, or else you'll have pink pudding".

Not sure how many of those we'd sell for them. We do pretty well demonstrating ammo like the 9mm Interceptor, etc.

Absolutely agree. A full torso would demonstrate the devastation of the better performing projectiles. Everything Greg & Jeff test wouldn't make it to the torso test, but some would be fantastic.
I cannot wait for this channel to really blow up. So underrated. The comedy and interactivity deserves so much more. Great video. Love you guys.

@Burnt_Gerbil I'm sure you know this but I want to mention for the benefit of others that Sniper Elite III and Sniper Elite 4 on the PS4 have a stereoscopic mode for those with 3D TVs or projectors.
In 2018 I had the unfortunate luck of being shot. Miraculously they were able to find the bullet that shot me in a wall two rooms over in a stud. I wear it around my neck every single day of my life to remind me what could have been. That bullet is much prettier than mine.

I cant remember what they are actually called but on mythbusters they used to use these patches that would explode if they were exposed to a certain amount of G-Forces. I'd be curious to know what would happen if you slapped some on some ballistics gel and strapped a kevlar vest to it, would it allow you to find out what kind of forces the vest wearer would experience?
The only reason the end of the lead paint is because with their cell phone towers they couldn't hear through your walls with lead paint.

As an Aussie, I get to live vicariously through your content. As you know, we can't have object throwers that go faster than an arrow, unless we're licensed hunters or farmers, or gun club members. I'm 60 now, so I'm getting on a bit. However, at some point soon, I'm going to talk to a few pro, feral animal hunters here to see how I can get a license, and add that service to my soon-to-be mobile workshop, home, and video platform. I'll be doing roadside mechanical repairs in remote areas, and the chance to offer the services of a professional shooter to property owners would be another source of income besides the mechanical work. Love the way the lead plate is soft enough to deform from the impact but rigid enough to preserve the patterns made by the impact, everything leaves a unique mark on the lead.

Imagine if the exterior teeth were sloped inwards towards center, literally just a hole and it tears into the net and fishooks it, even with it spreading out it does crazy damage. Im pretty sure the government and special organizations that dont want to be brought out into the light of day would enjoy using these such things.

That head shot was so devastating. Not only it cracked the skull on both sides from the top essentially breaking the whole round shape of skull while also took the whole face off, but the rook actually also stayed in which would cause more damage to the brain if the person wouldn't be already dead at this point which it would. That shell is designed to burrow itself in anything it touches while spreading more damage around it with the side parts. It's like combination of hollow point and fmj. Really fucking cruesome round.

the notches and grooves looks like it would carve flesh out like an ice cream scoop
and then the notches fold in on itself clamping the slug to whatever stops it
