I really like camera angles and effects you were able to achieve. I was originally put off by the use of the JWE engine as it restricts you from a lot. With that in mind, you were still able to work within it to create something interesting and not as jarring as I had initially thought. I recognize you are "remaking" the WWD series, so using the same music goes with that, but I can't help but wonder if using new music would have been more creative or interesting. I think my biggest concern for the quality of your series is the narration. It's neither the worst, nor is your voice bad, but the mic pops due to being too close are definitely jarring. Your accent, though largely understandable, comes off as a little distracting as well since I assume it is meant to sound like "proper" english. There seems to be a lot of mis-translations as well, which can be overlooked generally, but with such nice in-game video capture to contrast it with, it becomes very obvious. I wonder what this exact video would be like with a different narrator, or better quality to the narration in general. A total nitpick from my POV is the font type and usage, as it's not to my tastes, but again it's my tastes so i wouldn't expect that criticism to be taken to heart. Overall, a great video, hope to see more. Also, Nigersaurus and grass did not coexist.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, I'll take them all into account. I chose to use the JWE engine because the game looks very good, at least from afar, contains a high variety of different models, and also because the modding community is very active. However, the game has its pack of big flaws : some textures are ridiculously bad, the camera mod has almost no features, terraforming and dinosaurs spawning aren't adapted for making a film, the variety of environnements is also poor, etc. I'm also quite limited by the animations of the dinosaurs, they only eat, sleep, walk or run, and fight. For these reasons, I first chose to abandon the project, thinking that the limitations are too numerous, and that nother interesting can be made, but I changed my mind. For the music, I also thought about the possibility of using another soundtrack, but I couldn't find a more iconic one. Concerning the narration, I'm aware that it is the black spot. I've never narrated anything in the past, french is my original language. Also I agree that the narrative in general can be better. Overall, the second episode will see a lot of changes, the voice narration will be better as well as the narrative and the visuals. This was my first episode, and I hope that I can only improve the quality of the next ones.

I love how much effort you put into this. Cant wait to see more of this series. like I know you used JWE nut at the same it doesn't feel like it's JWE. it feels more like a very complex fan animation.
This is awesome! I commend you for "remaking" the Walking with Dinosaurs series! However, there are some notable errors in this. As others have noted, grass had not evolved until the very end of the Cretaceous period. It was true that Nigersaurus was a grazer, but it would have grazed on ferns. Still, since ferns are not an option to cover the ground in JWE it's excusable. The next error of note is that Iguanodon itself did not coexist with Carcharodontosaurus. It's true that relatives of Iguanodon did, but not Iguanodon itself. It's become a misconception within the public's understanding of dinosaurs that Iguanodon inhabited all continents. The appropriate thing to say would be that Iguanodon's relatives inhabited all continents. Camarasaurus and Suchomimus did not coexist with each other. Camarasaurus went extinct at the end of the Jurassic period roughly 145 million years ago while Suchomimus evolved during the early Cretaceous about 125 million years ago. It would've been more accurate to replace the Camarasaurs with the Nigersaurus you used earlier in the episode. But I can understand you not using them because they would have been unintentionally killed by the Suchomimus. Despite all of these nitpicks, I still think you did a wonderful job with what you had to work with! I eagerly your next episode!
Thank you very much for your well constructed critic, I totally agree with everything you said, and I will try for my best to avoid any mistakes in the future :)

This is a good start. I love the detail on both the Dinosaur models and the environments, but the writing needs a lot of work. You don't seem to express much emotion, and it feels like you're reading off bullet points in a list, rather than weaving a specific tale. Perhaps a more cohesive narrative like WWD had would help. Also, I'm not sure if this is appropriate to label as a remake, since it doesn't follow the order or stories of the original.
Thank you for sharing you opinion, I'll take it into account. I'll do my best to improve the writing and the narration. However a remake doesn't need to have the same story as the original. A remake is a new version of a movie interpreted by another director, who will use whatever he wants from the original movie, it could be the script, or just the spirit.

I'm a bit puzzled by why you still chose to have the Spinosaurus beat the Carcharodontosaurus in a fight when using an updated model. It just doesn't look believable that Spinosaurus would win with legs that puny, as not only would its reach be limited, it would have a much weaker stance and balance, thus would be pretty easily knocked over. It would have looked more plausible if you were using the standard JP3 Spinosaurus model.
@@windowsVD I can understand that, however keep in mind that he won mostly by intimidating, let's take an example we see in our era, hyenas have a stronger bite than lions and are very well built, however they often abandon their prey when confronted to a male lion. Animals don't like to take risk in general, that's how I thought while making this narrative choice
@@PastEons I suppose, but I guess I'm not really convinced that Carcharodontosaurus would be that intimidated by an animal of a smaller stature. Male lions are much bigger than hyenas and would absolutely trounce them in a fight despite having a weaker bite. It makes much more sense for a hyena to back down from a lion than Carcharodontosaurus backing down from a Spinosaurus. Especially since you do actually show them fighting, which I think should have then indicated to Carcharodontosaurus that it was dealing with a weaker opponent.
Wow that was Pretty good and enjoyable prop's to you dude can't wait to see the next part the Jurassic period there it will be more fierce and mysteriously interesting.

Thanks, it takes quite a time to realize to be honest, plus I have my studies too, but just know that I'm aiming even further in terms of quality for the second episode
it's amazing how CG has come a big way since the "Walking with dinosaurs" era, I was reading from the comments, and this is from the Jurassic World evolution game, right? I really can't believe how games are now looking better than the original documentary! My past self would kill to see something like this at the time I was crazy for dinos. I was going to be a little bit harsher when I first saw the grass and stuff like that disappearing from the screen when you panned out the camera, but after realizing that this is not like you made those in "Unreal engine" or something like that, this is actually like being captured from a game running live, so doesn't even have those final rendering things that actual documentaries go through, that's amazing. And also the fact that you have so many restrictions on what you actually can do with all those models and scenarios and you depend on the already built animations and stuff like this, just makes it even more impressive for me!
Don’t know why the BBC doesn’t actually do this. Like not try to replace the original, but rather add to it and maybe fix some mistakes in the original. And I know that so many people would love to watch it.

I am trying to make a documentary with real CGI and jwe. Can you tell me how you did this?
I used JWE photo mode, and premiere pro to do the editing
Sadly this spino is in accurate now it was found that it had a paddel like tail
Yep I tried to get the most accurate spino model at the time, but spinosaurus' changes too fast hahah
You at least tried🙂
I really appreciate your work on that especially that you're not using MODS and just the basic game models and skins
This amazing really great job keep it up
This is really good for a first episode! Can’t wait for the next ep! You’ve got a new suscriber :)
Wow that was Pretty good and enjoyable prop's to you dude can't wait to see the next part the Jurassic period there it will be more fierce and mysteriously interesting.
I'm working on it ;)
Amazing job!!!! Some shoots looks really beautiful!
I can't wait to show you all the first episode :D
A great job for an independent producer with a low budget! Going to watch the finished episode next.
I appreciate the kind words !
Interesting endeavor. I've been waiting for this kind of remake since a decade ago.
Oh, the nostalgia. 😁😁
Really like that you used Islands of Green at the end with the Suchomimus finally getting his meal.
I love your work dude :D
I'm glad you like it ! I'm currently working on the second episode, you'll see it should be even better ;)
10:51 is my favorite shot the distance blur/focus looks great
this is very well done! keep up the good work and look forward to the next episode
Thank you very much !
Woah, You made a fantastic job! Sometimes people just say that things like this, for education, but that looks very cool, no joke!
I LOVE THE MUSIC! .. reminds me of the glee when watching "walking with dinosaurs" as a kid
This was damn good great job 👌🏾
Thank you very much !
Dued you deserve a medal for creativity
Hahah I'd take it with pleasure
Wonderful it felt like watching a professional documentary. Great angles by the way
I gotta give its to you this was very well done really it was... can't wait to see more I love it
This is so good and bring back nostalgia keep going. Going to watch the rest
6:13 There’s a part where you can see the iguanodon model go from the death animation to ragdoll x3
Yeah it was a bug from the game, but I won't include such things in the series
Past Eons Productions I get you; for what you got (I assume you used models from the Jurassic World Game), apart from a few things such as the dialogue and script at times, I look forward to what you have in store! Best of luck with the project :)
@@bubblesofthecoast6393 Thank you, the footage on the video has been filmed in game, and I also used moded models
Past Eons Productions wow you filmed it in game? I take it that you went into sandbox mode and make a giant enclosure or by some other method?
Yep exactly
I love this and cannot wait for more! Keep up the good work :)
Thank you :D
One of the best I've seen. Great work!
I especially loved the superb camera works as we usually got to watch them from above sky view or side views, but you somehow made it look like something completely out of the game and that's just awesome.
Thank you !
As a native English speaker in United States I find your accent perfectly understandable and a rather nice change from the typical Oxford
I like how you used the game to help create the story you are telling and choice of mods is nice, I would say there was very limited or no grass in the world at this point but I understand that most of the he game is covered in the texture for it, all around enjoyed this pilot
Am now gonna search your channel for the next episode~
Thank you for your comment ! I didn't specify it, but what we see as grass are actually meant to be horsetails, which existed at that time.
@@PastEons thats fair enough, i just couldn't see it well and assumed, I'm glad to onoe that now though c:
Thank god you changed the narrator xD the dessert and the plants actually work better in this then the real episode though
I'll make them better in the future then, thank you for telling me that !
Wow this is such a good doc; keep it up!
I want more, please make a lot more of these. :D And it was really neat that you took the JP game and really used it to your advantage.
This is amazing, i hope the second part will come soon mate
Thanks, it takes quite a time to realize to be honest, plus I have my studies too, but just know that I'm aiming even further in terms of quality for the second episode
@@PastEons i will asure u, this series will boost ur chanel bigtime
It's really well done. I loved the Spinosaurus. I hope to see feathered dinosaurs in future episodes.
Well done! Great screenshots and camera movement. You have a good voice for a narrative.
Thank you ! Even better quality is coming soon ;)
For a plotkthis is pretty good,to say the least, and is more welcome to call itself and WWD remake.
Hell yeah this was awesome! Amazing job!
OMG!! I'm crying.
It's so preciuos!!
Good job uwu
Damn nice work dude
I have so much respect for you, clearly you're a huge Walking With Dinosaurs fan just like me. Keep up the good work that the BBC won't!
Thank you so much for your comment, it gives me even more motivation to continue working on this project :)
@@PastEons you are so welcome 😊
I like the job that You make, The camera effects and the way of recording the dinosaurs is very good, excellent video!!
Thank you :)
Cool work mate :)
Also cool that you use some mods too
The cinematography is incredible.
I love the way you make wwd with jwe keep making more👍👍👍👍
Wow.... The camera angle and the scenario really are impressive.
You have earned yourself a subscriber
it's amazing how CG has come a big way since the "Walking with dinosaurs" era, I was reading from the comments, and this is from the Jurassic World evolution game, right?
Frack yes! I absolutely love this!
