Try using spot metering instead of multimetering. The key I've found is that at least for UA-cam videos the camera gives you waaaay more dynamic range than you actually need. So I used a black/white/gray card to adjust my grading in post. The key though is s-cinetone gets the colors and particularly the skintone so perfect. So you just have to adjust the contrast and gamma to what you need.
Thanks for posting this video, Soner. In a static situation, like a studio, do you think the auto settings would do? I have only had a chance to test the stills but am hoping to get out and try the video. I am interested in the s-cinetone and the shockless white balance. This is my first Sony and first full-frame camera, and a huge step up in complexity. A lot to test and learn!
I am in same boots with you. I switched from GH5. This is setting I shared is better for studio btw. I don't like Auto anything when I am in studio. Also I didn't got good result l. The only setting which I use Auto is Autofocus. You can trust it %100. I will share more of the experiments I have and had with Sony A7IV. Stick around if you are interested. Also feel free to ask me if you need help.
Thank you for this video, I will give it a shot. I still struggle to find a good explanation of what zebra settings should be used for which cameras/field monitors and why. You do great work on this channel, and I am subscribing now! Also Congratulations on hitting 2k subs!
Thanks for the kind words! Zebra settings needs some experimenting for sure. But when you get used to they are nice tool. I keep them always on and find them useful. Thanks for the support! I sneak peaked to your channel as well and its looking neat and subbed of course!
@@SonerBaysal Thanks for the sub! Yeah I use zebras combined with me kinda eyeballing the scene too. I appreciate the video, it made me do more research and now I am down the rabbit hole 😄
Get a color checker passport and put your zebras on the white strip on the checker chart and use 80-90 zebras that Sony gives you do not use the custom options use those will confuse you do the same for log as well. I promise you all will thank me later
Yea I have modified my camera settings. I know usually it is PP11 but i changed mine to PP1 and I have PP2 set to S-log3 than it is easier to switch in between.
Not gonna lie, I've never been a fan of the blur filters that everyone's hot on right now. Makes me feel like my lasik is acting up. I'm a much bigger fan of fog or dust particle usage in the real environment to add depth and do any image manipulation either in your choice of lens or in post.
Was this helpful for you? What you want to know more about Sony A7IV on my next video?
Gracias 🦾estaré haciendo las pruebas ✍🏻
Thanks for the insights re exposure for s-cinetone! 😎😎
You are welcome. Hope it was helpful.

best video ever !!!!! for us new to Sony let alone S-Cinetone. Emeğine sağlık !!!!
Thank you for this video. What do you think about expousing for landscape and nature video with A7IV?
Thanks for video. If I understand correctly, the 85% refers to the face. what is your setting for the environment (100)? I've heard of 100.
Yes, exactly

Thanks Soner. what about best ISO for S-Cinetone
Thanks for checking it. ISO 125 or 500 are the best ISO for the S-Cinetone.

Very useful video. Emeğine sağlık :)
Glad to hear that you liked it! Rica ederim ne demek :)
Are you allowed by the company, to imitate the S Cinetone, by manually changing settings for A7R 4? Can you tell, if you have experimented?
Hi Soner, thank you for making this video. Great information
Thanks for checking it. Glad to hear that you liked it. More of similar videos will come out. Stay tuned for more.
What about non human iso and white balance?
thank you for your help. And your nose is fine. You look perfectly handsome just as you are. Accept your self!
Thanks for the support!😅
bro you need a better mic. i can hardly hear you.btw the video is super helpful
Your settings are showing PP1, which is a different Gamma and color mode by default, (movie, not S-Cinetone) have you modified that?
Yea I have modified my camera settings. I know usually it is PP11 but i changed mine to PP1 and I have PP2 set to S-log3 than it is easier to switch in between.
isn't cinetone PP11?
@@pot_of_water1991 I have assigned it to PP1 for easy access.

Don’t trust your metering?
It’s because your background is black. This is nothing new. It’s trying to compensate for the black. This applies to any camera or picture profile.
