@silentwisperer can you please in which of the following videos make a tutorial on auto sorting by category for hips 1.21 and preferably which can be rotated. Thanks for earlier :)
Important note: the "solid blocks" at the bottom of the trident killer also can not be mud! I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my farm until I realised the tridents got trapped in the sculk catalyst. I replaced the mud with stone and now everything works perfectly!
Never realized this could be farmed. I like building big shallow pools or fountains for my builds. I knew fish would occasionally spawn and get stuck breakdancing on the sea lanterns because I guess they see them as transparent/non-solid blocks.
So I actually discovered this feature a couple weeks ago when I was building a fish pond in my world. Most of it was 1 layer deep, but a couple areas were 2 or 3 layers deep and the fish would always go to them. Very nice usage of this feature!
You could make a whole separate video on a bone block crafter based collection system for this farm. I had to try a few iterations before i had something with acceptable levels of loss. It requires 2 item sorting modules to collect all the bones, one reducer that spits bonemeal into a water stream and 3 compacters to account for the rate of bonemeal coming out of the reducer on a clock (your reducer only works on realms with max speed repeater). I get 32 bone block stacks an hour with this model. Oh! And you have to hopper down 5 blocks from the water sources and water stream items 16 blocks horizontally away from the farm to retain the fish pathing. This puts your collection system far enough away from one trident killer that it becomes necessary to turn the farm on/off to go to the collection system and back without disabling that trident killer. At least on realms. If you think bugrock has problems, realms multiplies them
I just have a single item sorting module to select the bones. It works as follows. Each of the 5 trident killers have the hopper connected to a dropper. The dropper is auto-triggered, dropping whatever inside into water streams to send them to a storage area. An item sorter is them built there. It is just barely fast enough to sort the bones and tropical fishes. Then the bones is converted to bone blocks by two consecutive crafters. Do not use repeaters there, they make the crafter too slow for converting the bones to bonemeal. Just use 9 redstone dust to connect a comparator reading the crafter back to a solid block around the crafter, so that the crafter does its job faster than the bones are sent by the item sorter. It doesn't matter that the two circuits for the two crafters touch each other: only the intended crafter will get sufficient power and is triggered.

@kj29awsome you might have some other areas within spawning range eating up your cap. It's hilarious that you're getting 1/7 the rates and it's still enough. I love this mechanic. Glad you're good
I'm building this in a lush cave. I name-taged some medium slimes, broke them into babies and captured them in boats. They float serenely on the water AND stop all my cave spawns!
That might work on any fish because I had a world with a sea shore house. It was near a wide area 1-deep into water. It also had a small deeper hole under my "deck". That hole was always full of fish (let's say I only ate fish in that world). I never understood why but now it makes sense...
It does work on all fish, but salmon need deeper water due to hit box sizes. Tropical fish are the easiest because of mangrove and lush caves. You have to dewater the ocean a bit to use it there
Thanks for the guide works amazingly. I decided to build in a lush cave. I ended up using hopper minecarts and magma blocks for my collection system as the skulk catalists kept destroying all my blocks. This gave me a much cleaner collection system with no xp and no redstone so no risk of anything breaking.
Magma killing all the fish? The sculk vein can be eliminated by filling the cave animal cap with 4 axolotl that you have placed in buckets. If you build a little pen at your afk for them, no glow squid will spawn. If you're happy with the rates sounds like a win though.
I ended up having another player on our SMP throw the tridents in so that I didn’t have to deal with xp and sculk everywhere. Worked great! I put my red stone up high so water didnt mess with it
pretty good question here, as long as chunkbase says im in a lush cave biome will it work if i dig out alot of stone or does most of the cave have to be open
@@Anthony_Gogglins No, but seriosly: You can only build this farm in Lush caves and mangroove swapms since those are the only places that spawn tropical fishes. (Warm Oceans don't work for a number of reasons)
Do the fish count against the cap for iron golems? I'm guessing no but still I figured I would ask before I put it in an area where the golems will be spawning.
Im having issues with fish being pushed up out of the kill chambers. | Is this the issue v (Changed the trident killer a bit. Got a piston, observer, hopper on the same level. Catalyst and hopper in the floor. Did that cause i used redstone lamps to light the farm and the levers needed to be somewhere, which ended up locking the hoppers)
Im still having this issue, it's like the fish are either just floating around in the trident killer while the trident does zero damage to any of them. They instantly spawn, reach the mob cap, and then nothing happens. The tridents don't hurt them.
Does it HAVE to be a Mangrove, or can it be the other type of Swamp as well? Also, you mentioned it can be built in Lush Cave Biomes - do we still need to remove all the solid blocks above it, since fish sometimes spawn deep in the covered caves naturally?
Fish only spawn in mangrove swamps. They don't spawn in regular swamp. For the lush cave, there has to be a roof. If it's exposed to the sky the fish won't spawn. That's why you can overlap tye biomes and get double rates.
If I put water streams for item collection under this, would it mess up the fish mechanics of the farm? I really don’t wanna make a bunch of slow hoppers if I don’t have to
He has two videos linked above. I used his sorting video and his autocrafter video. Just be aware that you’ll need to use a crafter contraption with a repeater otherwise it’ll convert bone to bone meal so fast that it’ll overflow and bone meal will despawn
Built in a lush cave, but the Skulk catalysts completely overwhelmed the farm with Skulk blocks & sensors (even up into the water). Is there a way to have them eat XP without generating Skulk? Other than that, rates are great!
Let me guess glow squid dying is causing sculk spread? I have a solution. Bring 4 passive animals that you have bred. Or just capture 4 axolotl in buckets and place them down in a pin near your farm. That takes care of the glow squid. Passive mob cap is 4. Has to be bred animals or axolotl that spawned though. The bucket makes them not desoawb
Is it still efficient if you just leave it run in the background (obviously in loaded chunks), while you’re doing other things, not holding a looting three sword, or standing in the afk spot? It shouldn’t matter anyway because the insane rates of this farm mean I can probably just afk here for an hour and have more bonemeal than I’ll ever need for anything
So I built this but the trident killers have no effect on the fish. The fish just swim around in the pistons and don't get hurt or anything, what's up with that?
I think Silentwisperer is mixing up this farm for another. Fish will only spawn in the two biomes listed, oceans, and rivers. This farm will not work in any other biome. In an ocean or river, you have to remove a lot of water for it to work.
This is truly cheap bonemeal! Each bonemeal can be easily converted to two emeralds because you can put them to a flower farm and get 12 flowers out of them, and a cured villager will buy 6 dyes made with it for one emerald. If even this is not enough, kill a raid first and so that they buy at double the price (get 4 emeralds for each bonemeal)!
Tip for this farm: Don't afk too long I finished this farm at 6am, and slept until 11am (so I afked for 5 hours) and what I got was 10 chests of boneblocks which is "54 shulker boxes" full of bonemeal I think I won't need bonemeal for the rest of my entire life It's just so many
I know you said to build this in a mangrove swamp or a lush cave but can this be built in any biome? Also my trident keep disappearing when I leave the dimension, do you know why?
Likely glitching through ground. Dig down a few blocks and it will be there. It’s an annoying bug and my only fix is when done with farm and leaving the area (espically going into nether) remove tridents and leave in chest near farm.
I actually love the moss farm because I can just turn it on and do something else at my base. But this new farm is stupidly cost efficient and I am interested.
This will work in any biome that spawns fish. The rates won't be as good as silentwisperer advice area but I can confirm it does work as long you see fish spawning in that area.
@silent So I've been playing on a realm that was created in 1.18. I don't have any mangrove swamps. I know mangrove swamp or lush cave are ideal, but would this work in another biome if I was ok with draining all water near the farm?
Yes. Any ocean. Drain all water sources 16 horizontal and 5 vertical from the farm. Warm ocean will require no modification to the farm. Any other double the drop of the tk to lure salmon properly.
@@AceInTokyoso chunk base shows where lush caves can generate as a biome, but they come in blobs across the possible area. So chunkbase tells you where to look, but it's not 100% accurate like the other biomes. There is no y restriction on the fish. So if you aren't getting any fish you're not in a lush cave. Find an open area where you see the usual moss and clay.
Hey so in how much area I've to clean any 2 block water for lush caves? The 24 block spawn sphere? and will it be a problem if I don't spawn proof the caves around it ?
@ankurpathak108 Fiind the moss and glow berries. Chunk base only shows you where lush cave biomes can generate. Not where they do. When you find an area you think will work, build a smaller platform and verify fish are spawning. It's possible for the terrain to generate but not technically be a lush cave biome
The second layer only works if you overlap biomes. The easiest is a mangrove with lush cave. You have to build the whole farm twice vertically seppersted by 24 blocks. This means you have to find a mangrove swamp with lush cave under it. Dig out a 40x40 platform down to the lush cave biome, then build the bottom platform. Go uo 24 blocks where rhe mangrove swamp biome is, and build a the top layer. Afk is 12 blocks between the two.
do you actually need the leaves on top to prevent phantoms? On bedrock I think phantoms need a spawnable block (which the glass you stand on are not) just like any other mob, right?
Phantoms don't spawn right above you in most cases. They spawn away from you and glide to where you are standing. However, if you have blocks above your head, they don't attack you.
@@Nancy6388-MCPE they still have to choose a block to "originate from", decided like any other mob spawns. But then again that could be the surrounding area, I suppose. Better safe than sorry then
So I have a lush cave but it's floor is at level 4. Can I dig out the 40 x 40 put one at level 4 then one above at level 28 and AFK between? I'm thinking the top one can be at aly level so long as it's sky access. Is that correct?
YES! That's how you build the double version. If the top layer is mangrove swamp. Dig out all the way down to the lush cave layer, build the whole fsrm, go up 24 blocks and do it again
Out of curiosity, why don't sea lanterns work? Totally not annoyed at all, it's not like I build a certain guardian farm and now have more sea lanterns than I know what to do with or anything :)
Tanks. Thought that was strange, getting fish in the water at my swamp base, I'll be making one of these, I use my fish farm mostly for bone anyway. I also have a lush cave underneath the base so perfect.
@that70sgamer what I did was I just bordered my area about the lush cave and started clearing layer by layer. You can tell when you are in the lush cave biome, cause the water colors between mangrove and lush is obvious. The easiest thing to do is just clear the 40x40 all the way down to lush cave and then build ip. Build the first platforms. Then build rhe mangrove 24 blocks above. I used glass on the entire afk level for room to afk and watch the fishes.
@@oldrusty8157 that sounds awesome. I haven't checked yet, but I think the distance is just right to put an AFK spot below the surface fish farm and above the cave fish farm. I wonder if axolotls will spawn into the farm. Would be interesting to try to lure them over to somewhere else and trap them. I'd have to look it up , I don't think axolotls actually go after anything besides fish.
Did they ever add the ender pearl chunk loaders to bedrock? I do prefer to stand in one place and farm as many different things as possible, so I'll probably stick to the moss ones for now unless they add that since moss can be done almost anywhere.
watch mojang make it in parity with Java so fish drop bone meal instead of bones :c either way, peak farm, ain't never needing more bone meal I'll probably never use lol
I made mine 16x16 river to test it out. Had to do some clean up. the rates are awesome but not as making it as he advice. Just wanted mine next to my base do just getting bones and salmon on my build. 16x16 only one trident killer.
@jtripari you're going to get even less rates in a river. Salmon cap is only 4. I never actually did any testing in rivers for that reason. Ballpark estimat3, how much is it making?
@@oldrusty8157 agree on the less rates however I build this next to my home base so everything working while I'm afk. Don't need to leave the area at all. Since I'm busy I leave all the time and I leave the game on while builds, iron farm, etc still making. I will try to time it so I can tell you my rates to give you accurate numbers. I get 3 salmon spawning most of the time. Haven't seen 4. I did try this build because is easy in a world I started. I will make the full build since this world has area very close by but unfortunately not the same with all the worlds so I like to test the mechanics without leaving the lil home base. I'll keep you updated. Big fan of silent builds i use his builds and tweak it to accommodate my own needs. I use his creeper farm in a different world as a mob farm still getting so much gun powder.
You have to dewater the ocean a bit to use it there
1:49, think you missed a jack-o’-lantern m8
Thanks for the guide works amazingly. I decided to build in a lush cave. I ended up using hopper minecarts and magma blocks for my collection system as the skulk catalists kept destroying all my blocks. This gave me a much cleaner collection system with no xp and no redstone so no risk of anything breaking.
Magma killing all the fish?
The sculk vein can be eliminated by filling the cave animal cap with 4 axolotl that you have placed in buckets. If you build a little pen at your afk for them, no glow squid will spawn.
If you're happy with the rates sounds like a win though.
@@oldrusty8157 thanks useful information. I quite like having the glow squid as it provides bonus ink.
I ended up having another player on our SMP throw the tridents in so that I didn’t have to deal with xp and sculk everywhere. Worked great! I put my red stone up high so water didnt mess with it
pretty good question here, as long as chunkbase says im in a lush cave biome will it work if i dig out alot of stone or does most of the cave have to be open
is there any other benefit of the mangrove biome besides the little amount of water?
Yes theres only litte amount of water. Also there are other benefits.

This mechanic is just fantastic.
Do the fish count against the cap for iron golems? I'm guessing no but still I figured I would ask before I put it in an area where the golems will be spawning.
no.

Build the double version
Could I build two of these farm on top of eachother in a lush cave?
Im having issues with fish being pushed up out of the kill chambers.
|
Is this the issue v
(Changed the trident killer a bit.
The anount of peapole u made burn the mangrove forest is huge
A lot of them may have never even been to one. It's a pretty biome.
@@oldrusty8157 Thank you for that clarification.

Revolutionary bonemeal farms on Bedrock
If I put water streams for item collection under this, would it mess up the fish mechanics of the farm? I really don’t wanna make a bunch of slow hoppers if I don’t have to
Aa long as the water stream are only 1 block deep it will be fine. No waterfalla or bubble elevators. Those will count as 2 deep and mess it up.
I used water streams I just put them more than 5 blocks below the spawning platform because the fish only pathfind 5 blocks vertically
could you please make a video on setting up auto crafters for turning the bones into bone block
(good video idea?)
Just put glass around the catalysts so it has nothing to spread too.
No. Looting 3 increases bone drops by 6x. Also fish have a very limited spawn range and deapawn after 40 blocks.
@@oldrusty8157 okay thanks
LESS GOOO TYSM
Definitely building this 👍
If you go to a mangrove and find a big area that's not got water could you just dig down an area and fill with water?
Yes. Go down to y 62 or lower. A lot of people have been building the farm above 64 and fish won't spawn.
So I built this but the trident killers have no effect on the fish. The fish just swim around in the pistons and don't get hurt or anything, what's up with that?
Can this farm be built in ANY biome at lower rates, or can it only be done in the two mentioned?
any except mushroom and rivers
I think Silentwisperer is mixing up this farm for another. Fish will only spawn in the two biomes listed, oceans, and rivers. This farm will not work in any other biome. In an ocean or river, you have to remove a lot of water for it to work.
Why do you need a solid block on either side of the repeaters (starting at 11:45)?
reduce the number of redstone used... you can use the redstone lines but it will be a waste
And redstone lag may cause something on trident
Thank you Mr. Whisperer
This is truly cheap bonemeal! Each bonemeal can be easily converted to two emeralds because you can put them to a flower farm and get 12 flowers out of them, and a cured villager will buy 6 dyes made with it for one emerald. If even this is not enough, kill a raid first and so that they buy at double the price (get 4 emeralds for each bonemeal)!
yay for OldRusty
Tip for this farm: Don't afk too long
I finished this farm at 6am, and slept until 11am (so I afked for 5 hours) and what I got was 10 chests of boneblocks which is "54 shulker boxes" full of bonemeal
I think I won't need bonemeal for the rest of my entire life
It's just so many
I have gotten 30 shulker boxes of bone blocks so far, pretty sure i will never use it all😂
I know you said to build this in a mangrove swamp or a lush cave but can this be built in any biome? Also my trident keep disappearing when I leave the dimension, do you know why?
Likely glitching through ground. Dig down a few blocks and it will be there. It’s an annoying bug and my only fix is when done with farm and leaving the area (espically going into nether) remove tridents and leave in chest near farm.
I actually love the moss farm because I can just turn it on and do something else at my base. But this new farm is stupidly cost efficient and I am interested.
8:10 Missed a light.
"Don't use mud," proceeds to make the entire platform using mud.
yeah i figured out it was bad once i finished recording everything 😂

@@farantariq42304 not sure, seems like he made it work with the mud but told us not to use mud. And the missing pumpkin.
If I built a single farm in an air exposed lush cave, would the rates be doubled?
No. Lush cave fish only spawn with a roof. To get surface fish the top platform has to be in a mangrove swamp or a drained ocean.
So what you're saying is, I need to make heavy use of the autocrafter?
Can i use torches for light or would the water ruin that
you have to use light blocks
Will this work in any biome? Or only the 2 you mention? I’m in a forest biome
Only the two
This will work in any biome that spawns fish. The rates won't be as good as silentwisperer advice area but I can confirm it does work as long you see fish spawning in that area.

This farm is better than a moss, unless you value location over output. You can hook up several tree farms to this and still have bonemeal leftover
Had to build a pumpkin farm to build this farm
Just spent a hour building this for the lush cave varient and all im getting is glow squid
Is there a y lvl req im at -34 rn do i need to be higher?

@@AceInTokyodid you use an existing lush cave you found, or carve one out using chunk base?
@@oldrusty8157 looked on chunk base for a lush cave found one then built it on it

16blocks horizontally from the farm edges and 6 vertically
@silentwisperer Will like a area shown for lush caves in the chunkbase website work or do I have to find one with moss and glow berries ?
@ankurpathak108
Fiind the moss and glow berries. Chunk base only shows you where lush cave biomes can generate. Not where they do. When you find an area you think will work, build a smaller platform and verify fish are spawning. It's possible for the terrain to generate but not technically be a lush cave biome
5:50 "You cannot use mud." *proceeds to use mud for the rest of the demonstration*
So I just Build a second Layer under and have the Trident Killer down. Or does I have to Build the whole farm twice?
The second layer only works if you overlap biomes. The easiest is a mangrove with lush cave. You have to build the whole farm twice vertically seppersted by 24 blocks.
This means you have to find a mangrove swamp with lush cave under it. Dig out a 40x40 platform down to the lush cave biome, then build the bottom platform. Go uo 24 blocks where rhe mangrove swamp biome is, and build a the top layer. Afk is 12 blocks between the two.

Yes
Can this be used to produce pufferfish as well? I want a crap ton of water breathing potions
You'd have to drain parts of a warm ocean for it to work, but yes they do the same thing
To be clear, we are able to do this in any biome or not?
No. Mangrove or lush caves. Oceans can work, but you'll have to dewater all water outside the farm 5 layers down and out 16 blocks on all sides.
How many block above the spawning platform should the afk spot be?
12. If you build the double farm, afk 12 below and 12 above.

Are both biomes vertical from each other?
@@oldrusty8157Yes, I actually just found the lush cave last night. Was going down to get some stone.
