Lovely non-tutorial. Amazing picture too. Congrats. I found it easier to lace the shorter sides, then cover them by lacing the longer sides of the fabric laps on top.

You make this look so easy, Stephanie! I am desperate to learn how to stretch, pin, or lace my own stuff. Two recent visits to Hobby Lobby made me realize I will do a much better job on my own stuff than anyone else will. I had to take my most recent one apart, repin it, and am gathering the supplies to put it all back together. UGH. Thanks for this info! Great job-for a " not a tutorial! "
I learned quite a bit from your video. The triangle cut for folding is super as is leaving the thread in the spool. Thank you!!
Great video! Tip from old quilter...you can use a friction pen and simply draw the border using that quilters ruler. Once you have it even and the drawn line is on edge of fabric and all laced up, you simple run edge of iron on drawn line and it disappears. The line would not show anyway even without heat removal as it will be inside frame edge.

Hello from Oklahoma! Thanks for this not tutorial! It was very helpful and your "lazy" attitude toward lacing helped take the axnt out of trying it! I think you are very talented and enjoy watching your floss tubes.
Yes, this was helpful, so thank you. I learned the benefit of sewing fabric to the edges of the cross stitched fabric because doing all the lacing with folded-over 14-count Aida gets really thick and so hard to manage. Also the triangle cut-out tip was good. Seam gauges -- yes, they are very helpful. I still have the same one my mother bought for me when I took Home Ec in 1962! Use it all the time.
Leaving the thread on the spool = game changer. Thank you so much for this non-tutorial!!

Thank you so much for making this video. I have felt like a total looser when I have ever tried to lace. You have given me some confidence to try it again. I actually have a seam gauge that had belonged to my mom and I never knew what to do with it. Now I do!
Hahaha, three other people said the same thing----I have a seam gauge I never even use. I actually had two and never used them either, until now! Super handy. :)

I get a bit cranky just by thinking about lacing and finishing my projects, I definitely prefer stitching (don’t we all?) but I need to learn it and start doing it now. Thank you for demonstrating lacing. I have always just pinned all sides because i did not understand lacing. It always bothered me leaving the pins in. I am going to try lacing on my next project!

You need to mark the center of each side on you stitch piece and on your backing board. Then line up all the center points of the board and the fabric then pin.also put batting the fabric.
Great tip with the seam gauge! Why did the chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide. ;)

Up until this point I just had my framer cut them for me due to aforementioned laziness, and it's pretty cheap. This time I cut it myself. The only downside to cutting it yourself is that those sheets from Hobby Lobby are huuuge. xo
