I know I'm late for the party, but a while ago I made the mistake of going RGB crazy, there were led's everywhere that would make the starship Enterprise look dull, so much so that not only did my eyes water and itch, but it was so distracting that I just couldn't think straight or get any work done. A minimalist, clean and efficient workspace goes a long way! The old saying holds true, less is more. Thanks for sharing!

What do use to achieve the one cable thunderbolt power and display from your Mac? Is there a docking station?
Hi Dan, you have a PC not a Mac. Is there any disadvantages with going PC? I have a iMac at the moment which is old and apple have done there classic trick of stopping me update even though it works fine. Boat designers on UA-cam are using Macs. Do you have any spec recommendations, I a minimal graphics cards/speeds?

Hey Robert, building a custom PC can sometimes be more cost effective. However, using MacOS and Windows every day, Windows has infinitely more problems and weird issues pop up across the board, and in my experience the Adobe apps appear to be better optimised for MacOS. So if I had to choose a computer for design/work stuff, it would likely be a Mac, and the M1 Mac Mini (they also just released M2 version) has been brilliant so far, handling everything that I've thrown at it including 4K video editing, and it's about £600-£700 for the base model, plus a cheap external drive for storage (recommend USB-C for faster read/write speeds), and it's a powerful little setup!

Does anyone know if you can use an old iMac as just a monitor and storage for the M1 mini as this would be a fix for the moment. this would also save on the waste of a Mac that still works but just will not update.

your desk is too clean :)) my desk is always filled with notes, mug, Wacom tablet, joy stick (which I don't remember last time I used it for fun :) ), speakers, energy drink for late works, many many flash memories and SD cards, but most important part of my desk is my beloved daughter's paintings!
it may look distracting, frankly not at all for me. I admit clean desk distracts me!
