Thanks for the video, very useful. I had the os 32 with the rack and wanted a lighter more compact luggage’s system. Mounted the OS base and attached 2 os18 and one os12 on top. Very easy and secure BUT, the two os18 broke the rear plastics on each side… while I was riding pretty hard offroad with some small jumps I did not expect to brake those plastic fairings. And they are really expensive. So beware off road riders!
Thanks for the feedback, and i agree those side pods can be fragile, I broke a couple of clips on one just trying to knock it back in place with the palm of my hand!
Big Kriega fan too, several OS bags and the smallest rucksack. Changing bikes soon and as I hate tubular racks this looks like a great addition for big trips…
A decent looking kit. Thank you as I’m currently in the process of purchasing motorbike specific luggage carrying equipment and these look good and not too expensive. 👍😎🇦🇺
Cheers Marcus, I think the good thing is that you can move the luggage from bike to bike, so far mines been on a Tiger 800, KTM 790 adventure and an Africa Twin
@@mancavemoto 💯 As I do have a couple of different bikes for different purposes. From a fully kitted race bike (not that I will be carrying luggage on that thing or the next) to a specific dirt only bike. However a couple in between these two for road use, where I can swap them around. Do the add on luggage work on different bike specific straps and holding devices for various bikes as this could seal the purchase.
I’ve used kriega for years brilliantly made I’ve fever had water get inside 👍, this kit looks great for on/off rd ,I use the us dry packs in various sizes on my Gsa great video enjoyed it even though I don’t have a honda good viewing as always 🏍🏍👍👍
Great video Tony, comprehensive as ever. I think the modular way Kriega kit comes together is excellent and the quality is also at the top range. My buddy is a Kriega fan too where I've gone for the #moskomoto and we constantly contrast and compare the benefits of each; I think it comes down to personal preference in the end as we appreciate many features of each.
I have same debate as to whether to go with Mosko Moto, Kriega or Giant Loop. All seem to be of high quality. In my case (have a 2018 Vstrom DL650) I already have a givi top case and so this Kriega OS 36 systems seems like it will work well. I've since ordered from RevZilla and will see how this all works out.
Did you happen to test the OS-base system on a Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro? I am also not interested in hard panniers and would therefore like to use this Kriega system... Thanks in advance! Cheers, Mischa
Just watched this video with interest as I’d really like to fit this system to my 2020 Africa Twin. My only possible problem is that my bike is fitted with the Honda rack, I was therefore wondering if by any chance you knew whether I could still fit the OS base to my bike without having to remove the rack. Many thanks.
I have recently bought a new CB1000R and am going for a 7-day trip in the summer holiday. I have a US-30 and a US-10 bag for several years and bought one extra US-30 last year. So now I am wondering if I can use 2 US-30 bags on the OS base? otherwise I will have to buy 2 extra US-20 bags to have a 70 ltr storage combo. Thanks Steve
Good question, possibly the one for the KTM 1290 would be closest fit, given where the bottom straps have to reach to. Best bet is to e-mail Krista, they are normally pretty good and responding and I imagine its a question they have been asked before
I'm very interested in the level of motorcycle protection this system offers. Does anyone has laid down AT on the side with these Kriega system? I thing the exhaust is not very well protected in such cases. In addition you can't take a pillion :(
Its not going to offer much protection, but then its not designed to. If the bag is fully packed it might help though. You can still get a pillion on at a pinch if need be (assuming theres no tail bag) but again its not designed for that. Its all about keeping the luggage nice and close to the bike. Filtering is the same at not having any luggage on, and its up and out of the way for offroad riding and water crossings etc
It is a brilliant bit of kit however the only complaint i have is they rub against the body work badly, the protective film is only for the black AT for some reason so if you have the red like myself there are huge cut outs in the protective film, it also rubs in multiple other unprotected areas, if you intend on getting your bike scuffed up it's great however if you want to go off road etc but still keep your body work relatively good looking this will over time ruin it, i still use my kit but find i have to drape a towel or something over the areas where the kits rests, and it only works for 1 trip as the cloth is then filthy and if you put it back on you'll be rubbing dirt and grit against your paint, looking to get the sw motech panniers now which has the quick remove mounting kit aswell so i dont have to have scaffolding on my bike when im going for a local ride
@@mancavemoto it has cut outs for the decals on the black 1100L i have no idea why it doesn't just have no cut outs and protect the decals aswell.... really made me scratch my head when i wrnt to apply them, the decals on the red AT are in a different location so you have the huge gaps in the film it's just such a dumb idea i think personally, like i said it's still an awesome bit of kit and i still use mine but it's an absolute chore trying to get it to not scratch the hell out of my paint

No problem!
Great review as usual. I’m a big Kriega fan myself

I think its a really useful solution. The bags will probbly stay with e for life now regardless of any bike changes

Hi, Thanks for the video. Will this fit also the 2016 model? Thank you
No, from 2020 only
Would be handy if the Adventure Bags converted to backpacks, something like their TRAIL or Kriega backpacks.
Now theres an idea....
Soft luggage is the way to go if the bike is intended to be used off-road. I like idea of this "base" system.
Its a neat solution, I like the way it keeps the weight close to the bike

I haven't no, I dont think they make an OS base to fit any of the Tigers? But you could fit the OS soft panniers onto third party carriers?

I assume that includes the grab rails? If so then sadly this won’t fit
Looks good, thanks for the details. Any bag recommendations for a 2015 Triumph Bonneville T100?
The Kriega Saddlebags look good

Thanks for your reply. I will get myself an extra US-10. Cheers Steve
How about security during travel, for example you visit some sightseeing or supermarket, any way to secure?
You would need to use security straps
That looks to some good gear I will certainly check it out cheers : )
Cheers, I've spent quite a bit of money on Kriega over the years and i've never been disappointed.
Do you think these would fit on the 2018 model? I've been looking for sidebags without having to add a whole metal frame first.
Good question, but one I can’t answer for sure.
I just wished is was compatible with the rest if the Kriegas.. I have them already and what am I supposed to do now. Buy another set? Shame shame :(
Hey thinking of chucking these on my gs adventure what base would you think would be better this one for the Africa or the ktm cheers

what about the scratches made by the base pad
As I mentioned the kit comes with protective film to cover the side pods, but the backing is quite soft anyway

Use isolation tape on places that might get rubbed. It withstands a lot and you can easily peel it off after a trip.
will this fit 2018 1000 adv sport?
It should do
No
Don’t think it will work with my 2018 AT grab bars. Mount base doesn’t want to go over them. Can’t go thru them. …
@@Windsweptyetinteresting No these won’t work on the MY bikes that have the grab rails

2024?
Do you mean will it fit the 2024 model? As far as I’m aware it doesn’t because the bike now has a rear grab rail
Kriega stuff always seems so fiddly to me. I'm probably just lazy.
Probably ;)
