    Nice ride! As an off road and dual sport guy I am warming up to the idea of touring by bike vs trailering to a stage point in the expanses of Canada.
    I am quite interested in the same base Twin for more fun on the road and the ability to tour yet able to tackle off road trails.

      You can’t go wrong with the tigers, I absolutely loved mine. Personally I think the 900 is enough unless you do allot of two up riding. The extra bill and weight for the 1200 seems to much of a trade off for more power that I don’t need. Once you have a adventure bike with all its comfort you’ll not go back to sports bikes! I ride a ‘22 Africa Twin standard in the GP Red, a great machine indeed. I fitted Givi pannier rack and tried the Givi Outback panniers for one trip, but ultimately found the Lomo 30L panniers (same design, but bigger than your crash bar bags) a lot better for me. I hated how the bike felt a lot heavier in the back with the hard luggage, plus constantly keeping their width on my mind was a pain. The Lomos fit perfectly with the Givi rack, and with a strap through undearneath the seat, you can rest assured nobody will remove the bags from your bike to steal them when you park away from sight.

    • @ontheroadadventure
      @ontheroadadventure  9 місяців тому

      I am very much like you, I prefer not to have all the scaffolding and boxes so have also gone down the route of soft bags. Lomo bags are great. Ewa has gone for a much more premium option! We will have videos on the different luggage options soon and will do some comparisons, I suspect I’m winning the pound per litre of space category!! How did you attach the bag under the seat?

    • @KikoBW7

      @@ontheroadadventure the bags themselves come with an extra strap and a metal buckle, giving you the option to connect them (like saddle bags, sort of). Don't put HD tubes in, they ok up to 50mph! I thought they'd be better, turns out they will work against you on the road! I know 3 bike mechanics and they will only ride a bike that has tubed tyres!! I guess all these things are subjective, No doubt the GS is a fantastic machine for sure…but for me the engine on the GS is not as engaging as the twin, it’s a more get to 6th and do it all day kind of bike, so much power it’s hard to play with it at sensible speeds. For this reason I preferred the smaller 850 gs over the bigger one. Both have enough power for single riding and touring but the smaller engine allows for more fun playing with the box and wringing its neck, it just feels more fun than the big GS for me
