Hi Mr S. Great vintage running!
I did a bit myself earlier today: I ran my 1959 vintage Hornby Doublo City of London hauling 10 (yes ten!) Doublo 2 rail coaches, making it one heavy train. The LMS Pacific handled it with grace & aplomb. It was so good I videoed it. The layout had a straight run long enough to accommodate both coaches & loco. It was a magnificent sight.
That must have looked brilliant with all those coaches. A powerful loco indeed. Take care, all the best to you
@MrSnooze Yes it did. I'm tempted to create a YT channel just to share it!
Lovely running today. I do not recall seeing the West Country/Battle of Britain class loco in Southern green before and although it was hard to see I think the motor was back in the cab which makes me think it is a Wrenn model. Regards, David.
Yes David, a Wrenn Lyme Regis. A superb loco to run. Take care, all the best to you
That was some great running, both trains are very smart looking. I take it that was Lyme Regis on the southern train, I used to like looking at that in the Wrenn catalogue as a new to be released model it’s such an eye catching shade of green.
Yes, that was the Lyme Regis, A lovely looking item. Thanks for watching, all the best to you
Hello... thanks for posting the video...
I can appreciate why you took the Brittania sound tender off...
The Southern Express looking good...
Cheers 🙂🙏👍🇳🇿
Thanks for watching, It's good to hear you enjoyed seeing these. Best regards to you
The Britannia is a stunning looking engine for sure.
You can take the spring loaded chuff chuff piece off the axel to make it run quiet.
The one from my Albert Hall is in a bag in the box it came in.
Stay safe
Mon
I think I might follow your example and quieten mine. Take care, all the best to you
My chuffer fell off, can't say I was upset, they do get monotonous😬😁👍👍
I've had my fill of the chuffing, all quiet now on the layout. All the best to you
Hi, I recall there was an issue about the lovely Wrenn Lyme Regis locomotive.I bought 2 or 3 of these engines about 12 years ago, individually on e bay.I did buy one and the beautiful SR green livery was a kind of blue! Seems there was some instability in the colour pigment. Also some of the Wrenn wagons had their black metal chassis coloured with a chemical process. Some of my wagons, just a few on the flat underside are a strange green colour. Its a pity this great company went into liquidation in the early ninties as did Hornby Dublo in 1964.
Thanks for looking. At the moment the paint on my loco is ok. I shall keep an eye on other items to see if I see anything unusual. thanks for the great information. All the best to you
Hi, No problem.Best regards Robbie.@@MrSnooze
Great video. How big is the layout and did you do this from a track plan or do it yourself? All the best, Jon
The layout is mainly based on Track Plan 17 from the third and fourth Hornby Track Plans books. It's around 16' long by 8' wide. Thanks for looking, all the best to you
