Only thing I would add is if you have a heat pump depending on the model you can definitely run it while below freezing. My Trane is rated to run down to 17 degrees fahrenheit. Some are rated even colder. But you should find the spec for your model before arbitrarily setting a number.
In this case we are using the dehumidify function using the AC unit. It is not hooked to a humidifier. Do you think a separate humidifier is necessary, if you have a humidity check built into the thermostat?
Add extra comfortable setting mode like (home, away, sleep+wakeup or anything you want to name) you have to go into the app on the phone COMFORT SETTING and + ( to add more comfort mode)
My temperature on the ecobee will not go lower than 72 degrees no matter what I set it to? I just got the new HVAC system installed. I am not sure how to fix it. The upstairs goes lower than that required temperatures I set it to 72, it went down to 70 and the below will not go lower than 72 when I have it set for 68
Each of the most settings have a temperature range for example home away sleep Etc. Have you checked these to see if the range is limited so that you cannot change it below 72? Also have you downloaded the application and try to change it from the application below 72°?
Not really sure what's going on some people have had such great success with this Echobee. Others have written in and said they've had nothing but trouble. For us it's been fantastic no problems. I've started recommending the Honeywell to anyone who's having a problem. Appreciate the feedback on your thermostat. Does it integrate easily with alexa?
I got a message from my ecobee saying the internal temperature sensor isn’t working. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it? I can’t run heat or ac since it’s been down.
@@CyberMedics thank you!! I guess something had gone wrong with the wiring. I simply removed it from the wall and reattached the wires and it is working properly again

I have no idea what to do with this piece of junk thermostat !!!! I bought my home back in 2020 and after I was in it for about two weeks the thermostat shut everything down and I could not get anything working.... after a few days, it mysteriously started working again for exactly one year.... every year at the same time this thing goes haywire and this is the fourth year that this has happened.... right on time at the same time.... !!! it's almost like this thing is programmed to shut down so I will have to call someone to come take a look at it to have it reset or something.... I have tried to get this thing to turn back on right now and it looks like I'm going to have to wait several days so it can think about it.... does anyone know how to reset this thing or to get my system back up and running it's cold here.... has anyone ever had this problem where every year it shut down at the same time of the month same day ? And if so, how do you turn it back on?
@@CyberMedics Thank you for answering my comment.... I have already tried this many times and it doesn't work.... My heat and AC is still down at this moment :-( Sadly, Like last year at the same date and time, I'm going to have to call a repair man again and be charged again $100.00 for a service call :-( They come here and within minutes "without repairing or replacing anything" they will have it back up and running within minutes.... I feel like I'm being screwed and robbed or this is being done intentionally ! It always centers around this thermostat ! I'm now thinking about just replacing it with a thermostat that I have more control over of what it's doing.... I live on Social Security and I just cannot afford to keep paying a repair man $100 every time this thermostat decides it wants to have a glitch or take an unexpected dive and take everything out.... it sucks !
Sounds like you should probably get a different kind of thermostat. If you want a Smart thermostat some people have switched out the ecobee with the Honeywell.
Fantastic comment. See Time Stamps 19:11 & 20:02 Minimum Compressor Off time & Min Compressor on Time respectively. These were not set to the standard default settings of 5 mins for both. I think the Compressor off time and on time were both set to 1 min vice recommended default of 5 mins. These setting might contribute to the short cycle times. What are yours set to? Thanks for commenting.
@@Charles-nk3ep is your ac a new install with the ecobee? Just wondering are you comparing the new ac with the old, or you only replaced the old thermostat?
@@Charles-nk3ep Good to know. So the cycle times are shorter on the Ecobee with your exiting AC. I know it is hard to judge, but can you characterize the "time between cycles" and "length of the run times" on the new Ecobee vs the old thermostat. Give me as much information as possible and I'll do some research on it to see if we can pin point the problem.
Please, for the love of God and all that is holy, will someone please explain to me how to disable the unoccupied feature of my ecobee??? I absolutely abhor thermostats to try to insert themselves forcibly into my life and mandate I save energy according to their own philosophy. This is why I ditched my nest and thought I was safe from it with my ecobee, but I'm not. I just want the house to stay at the temperature set point I put it at, I don't want the house to EVER Go into an occupied mode and change the effective set point. How do I keep this stupid thermostat from automatically going unoccupied????? 🤬🤬🤬
Lol. Love your comment. On the thermostat 1)Select 3 bars top right, 2) Select gear icon bottom right, 3) select sensors, 4) select particular sensor that you want to disconnect from comfort settings, 5) Select Participation Setting, 6) Deselect all comfort settinfgs. This should stop the sensors from readjusting your thermostat. Please let us know if this works. Thank you for commenting and subscribing. We appreciate the sport

Will this pair with a variable speed unit and work correctly? Or do you have to stick with the manufacturer proprietary equipment?
My HVAC guy said that it would also work with variable speed equipment.

Does ecobee hook to a dehumidifier or only the ac unit?
In this case we are using the dehumidify function using the AC unit. It is not hooked to a humidifier. Do you think a separate humidifier is necessary, if you have a humidity check built into the thermostat?

how do you go about adjusting the air quality. Mine shows poor all the time as can't have windows open often because in a humid area.
