    Huge confession. I have naturally curly hair and only today have I heard about this method. Where have I been. Since hearing about it I’ve been watching videos non stop. Now making a list of things to buy at Superdrug & boots. Your hair is so bloody gorgeous. The shine and curl is so beautiful. Cherio straighteners!! 👋🏻

    PLEASE READ AND HELP I BEG !!! I do all these things and my hair is still super frizzy and my waves/curls don’t really show? i can’t wear my hair down because it literally looks like candy floss. my parents also don’t let me buy curly hair products because they say that they’re too expensive, i try to explain i need to because without it my hairs just going to get worse, but then i just get shouted at. the reason i ask is because i’m only 12. when i was little i had super tight curls but as i’ve got older they’ve faded. btw i asked my mum for any of these products in the video and she said “no way, just use the family things” because she don’t get it as i’m literally the only one in the family with this hair. PLEASE HELP!! my hairs literally ruined and i can’t do anything about it!! :(

    I just picked up extracts because of this video! Thanks for this. I was at super drug for a good 30 Minutes looking for a shampoo though. Couldnt find one cheaper than £6 but i guess you get what you pay for...

    • @AmandaDawn87
      @AmandaDawn87  5 років тому +1

      The shampoo with last you ages though as you should try to only low poo once a week and cowash in between if you need more washes. Only shampoo your roots as well so it will last ages :)

    Thanks for this video, very useful for a beginner. Have you tried the new (2021) Garnier Hair Food range? So useful to know about the Wilko products, I never imagined! And finally, have you ever tried MCT oil in your hair or for your skin? Today I am trying it, in the past it has worked before BUT I was still using products with silicones so… today I’m expecting so much more from it. Liked, Subscribed and wishing you all the best xx

    Hi Amanda.. I’ve v long, v thick hair which I’ve stopped dyeing and straightening.. can I ask, when you co wash, do you mean you wash hair as normal with a conditioner like you would with a shampoo? Does it still clean your hair? Loved your video.. by far the simplest one for me to understand xx

    Is frizz ease and Moroccan oil silicone? They both make my hair look nicer but I’m afraid it’s a silicone effect

    This video was very helpful! One thing I don't really understand is co-washing - does it mean washing your hair with only conditioner? (And if so, do you apply conditioner to the roots like you would if you were washing with shampoo?) Maybe this would change if my hair goes through a transition period but I couldnt only use shampoo once a week right now as my hair gets greasy after 2 days :(

    • @AmandaDawn87
      @AmandaDawn87  4 роки тому

      Hi Alias
      You hair adjusts but yes condition on the roots, scrub in, leave for a couple minute, rinse then condition as normal. I no longer co-wash, my wavy hair needs a bit more. I shampoo using sulfate free every 5 days :)

    Hello! I am just looking to start the Curly Girl Method (as in I’ve literally just bought the products and I’ve yet to do my first wash/style using the method) and I’ve seen a few things about having to clarify your hair or something to get rid of the old build up of silicone from products I was previously using.
    Did you have to do this when you stopped using sulphates and silicones and if so, how did you do it/what products did you use to do this? Thank you for your help!!

    • @AmandaDawn87
      @AmandaDawn87  5 років тому +1

      Hi Laura, I did not personally and latest posts I have read are saying you no longer need to do this so its personal choice really. If you are using a low shampoo still it should help with build up but depends on your hair and how much it has. If you have the product then you may as well :) good luck with the journey :)

    • @laurataylor1392
      @laurataylor1392 5 років тому

      Amanda Dawn thank you so much for getting back to me. I think I’ll just go straight in with the low shampoo I bought and see how that works for me and I might reconsider clarifying if I’m having problems.
      Absolutely love your videos, I’ve been going through and they’re really helpful!

    • @AmandaDawn87
      @AmandaDawn87  5 років тому +1

      Hi Abbey, there are so many different ways, it is all trial and error. Some apply gel or mousse to soaking wet hair then squeeze out excess water before plopping, others squeeze out excess water then smooth and scrunch on gel or you can plop then apply gel. You will need to find what it right for you and have a play around :)

    hey I have been watching many videos on this method but none of it seem to actually tell me what are the steps to follow. Can you help me with that like step 1-shampoo step 2- conditioner and then what?? I am really confused!

    • @AmandaDawn87
      @AmandaDawn87  5 років тому +2

      hi! step 1 non sulfate shampoo OR wash with sillicone free conditioner
      step 2 condition with curly girl approved conditioner
      step 3 optional leave in conditioner. some hair types don't need it
      step 4 stylers. so you my use mousse or gel or mousse with gel on top.
      air dry or diffuse dry then scrunch the cast off the hair

    Hi Amanda! When you say you wash your hair twice a week, does that translate to every 3 days in practice? I'm at 2 days at the start of my fine 2B/C hair CGM journey, thinking of transitioning to 3 days.

    • @AmandaDawn87
      @AmandaDawn87  3 роки тому

      hiya I tend to wash it every 5 days so not quite twice a week. Often I stretch to 7 days it depends how many products I've used and if I've had my hair up or down x

    Uhh WTF Umberto Giannini curl jelly is NOT CG friendly. Read the ingredients, it has silicones in it. Maybe do some proofing before you post, Amanda...

    • @AmandaDawn87

      perhaps check yourself and go copy and paste the ingredients list into curls bot which confirms it is sillicones free before posting "uhh wtf" and such a rude incorrect comment on my channel.
