The Moon is magical. Tested that one for the first time in October 2022 and to this day I have a tester strip of The Moon in my room and you can still smell it if you put your nose close to the strip 💀 . I recently tested it again and left with another paper strip of The Moon back home 😂. The only fragrance that I would spend retail price and I wouldn’t regret a thing.. one day.

Very overrated brand.. La Nuit smells like pop.. very cheap Oud from India 60 usd for 50ml raw and no creativity.. like other and same like tuberose.. portrait of lady it great one and creative formula..
My favorites have got to be Geranium Pour Minsieur and French Lover. Both bottles bought curca 2010. I know Estee Lauder has done both scents dirty with reformulations.

It becomes apparent when a a top ten list needs to be to- 13 and then with somewhat almost ten honorable mentions that could have made the list - how incredibly grand the perfume house of a Frederic Malle really is.
Really appreciate this review of these largely unaffordable fragrances. I just assembled a discovery set as a gift for my mom, and it contains decants of Carnal Flower and POAL. I chuckled at the idea of layering POAL and The Night. It was like a Jeopardy question where the correct response is "How do you know someone is rich?" 😂
i have a full bottle of dries van noten..i was able to get the last bottle when it was already discontinued at harvey nichols in London…I have and love The promise,Portrait of a lady,Carnal flower,Geranium pour monsieur,Cologne indelibile, and Musc ravageur…Dominique Ropion Avid fan here…😍👍

The Cosmetics Company Store where my parents live just got a bunch of FM fragrances. I missed POAL but bought a bottle of Promise. I feel as though I should have liked Carnal Flower, but it reminds me of my grandmother, who I loved dearly, but who was a smoker of menthols. She was born and raised in Germany and wore 4711 her entire life. For some reason Carnal Flower reminds me of the way she smelled when she wore 4711 and we'd go out shopping and she would smoke clandestinely in her car. 4711, menthol cigarettes, and her Dodge Omni. I miss her. My favorite FM offering will always be L'Eau d'Hiver. I wear it all the time. I also have Magnolia, even though my favorite magnolia is Magnolia Infinita by Acqua di Parma.

I absolutely adore Musc Ravageur. I think it is my most favourite fragrance. I love it so much that I also have the body oil and body cream. I have to say that my latest bottle of MR does smell different, can't explain how. But it's not quite as good as previously, but I still love it. I also have Synthetic Jungle - really like, En Passant - like, the magnolia one - like. I think i have L'eau D'Hiver also. Love Iris Poudre, hopefully the next one i buy. Also really like Bigarade 😊

I’ve not smelled it yet. it’s available at Costco online for a good price so I might blind buy or pop into a dept store to smell it first.
I would say it is unisex, doesn't have a particularly masculine vibe. It is quite unusual. I tried it in a store before purchasing and I wouldn't feel confident to say it's a blind buy. It isn't at all like the others I mentioned.
I met Mr. Malle in London a few years ago, his signature scent is Geranium pour Monsieur which also happens to be my favourite in his collection. Why this is not even mentioned, surprising.
Musk Ravageur (pre-reformulation) is my favourite from the house, with POAL coming in at a very close second! L'eau D'Hiver is another stunning, soothing musky fragrance that I love. Finally, Une Rose is one that I will never part with, an iconic garden rose fragrance. Now I need to get my hands on Dries Van Noten!
Musc Ravageur- it used to be my absolute favorite. But post-reformulation, it’s mainly cinnamon for me. Missing the animalic edge 😔 excited to try the layering tip you mentioned; maybe it’ll bring back the magic .😅

I've been waiting for this video for quite awhile. I think Frederic Malle is my favourite house at the moment and that is because of 2 fragrances Musc Ravageur & Monsieur. For most of my teens my favourite fragrance was Givenchy Gentleman the '74 version which is (was) also a patchouli bomb. When I smelled Monsieur it was absolute heaven for me. Musc Ravageur is ...Musc Ravageur. Stunning fragrances.
I don’t think he’s a killian fan of late after they sold to EL and things just don’t smell the same, don’t last or project and high priced for what it is. That’s what I’ve heard him mention in recent videos …. So I wouldn’t hold my breath for a current kilian list. He has some older ones I saw when I was looking for info on straight to heaven and rolling in love - I passed on both. Nothing special. I only like Angel share. Maybe princess original formula. The rest is meh. Smoking hot is okay smells like flavoured shisha … not sure about the longevity of wear tho.

So Jean Claude Ellena's creation for Frederic Malle is a big hit for me like: Angeliques Sous La Pluie, Bigarade Concentrée, L’Eau d’Hiver. I would say iris poudre is easy wearing too if you enjoy the scene. I can wear it as a daily scent and year round. I find eau de magnolia better for spring and summer with the circus in there.
Dries Van Noten and Musc Ravageur. Promise is okay but it's really just MFK Oud Extrait, to me. Synthetic Jungle is okay but cannot hold a candle to Strangelove NYC 'Lost in Flowers', if you're after that immense, rich, floral experience. Federic Malle is not my favourite house by quite some distance. Too pretentious. Minimalist packaging - which is just a way to save money. The last two releases have really turned me off Malle. And Estée Lauder has really destroyed the quality. Just my opinion, of course.

No, they are two different fragrances. GPM is great for summer! Monsieur is a strong, sinister Patchouli.
