Us: "Will there be equipment cards for previous heroes? CMON: "🤷 It's a long campaign..." Update #1, 14 minutes into the campaign: "Equipment cards for previous heroes!"
I’m def going to keep my eye on it, but the cast list so far does very little for me. Looking forward to seeing what unlocks and what add ons there are to see if anything really piques my interest.
Someone starting new - I suggest getting a core set from this season, the pick up people you want beyond that. Alt, see if you can get the core MU X-men core and play it during the campaign. Then get more as you want.
I am gathering that they don't offer previous kickstarter versions on the new KS? Looks interesting, and I have been sitting on the fence about getting a 2nd hand copy of one of the previous "seasons".
I backed this game. It's my first CMON KS and man is it exciting. Email after email of updates. Anyway, I got this game at retail, Amazon for the marvel (with spiderman) and xmen set. I got tons of content for $50. I've played it with many of my groups and it's always a hit. I think about some games I have tons of content for and those games don't hit the table nearly as often as marvel united. It's light, it's fun, it's stupid easy to pick up new characters and try something new. Love it.
I have everything from previous seasons and have only played with maybe 50% of content do I need any of this? no but of course I am 100% going All-in on this one! why? I have no idea
I was debating this one because I have all the other stuff, and like you said, how much do we really need? However, I feel myself getting pulled in because the new stuff looks really good...
I only paid $10 for my copy of the Core game from Wal-mart and liked it enough to want to expand in content. I was also VERY happy with my recent Zombicide Undead or Alive fulfillment in terms of value for money spent when you include the stretch goals. Just the Core pledge here (even adding in the exorbitant shipping charges) looks like it will be a good value as well with all the stretch goals. And here, I was NOT going to back any more Kickstarters. Darn you, CMON!
To the author's point of characters that feel same-y you can try to pick up only the characters that don't feel that way. Here's a nice little list of completely unique heroes you could try that don't feel the same whatsoever: Dr.Doom Kitty Pride Multiple Man X-force Deadpool (printeable) Cable Professor X Jean Grey Iceman Quicksilver Nightcrawler Punisher Adam Warlock Captain America Groot/Shuri/Mantis I think you can get anywhere between 20-40 completely unique characters if you try but then you start to run into characters that feel very similar to others because they are similar mechanics wise. There are only so many different mechanically heroes so often you will play with the most unique version or simply the best version available.
I'm conflicted with this campaign. While it will be really neat to have a bunch of the new heroes/villains to play with/against will that warrant a (probable) $350 (before shipping) price tag? Does the new additions to the game add enough levity or gravitas to the game itself? All questions I will be constantly assessing as the campaign continues. Good video.
I will probably get the base game so that I can have the new solo content but likely will not go for the gameplay all-in like I did with the first two campaigns. I love the game but it does not get much table time. Not super excited about the present solo modes and hope the new mode fixes that for me.
I normally play double handed as the shield solo mode seems wacky. But i still enjoy it. But I agree a better solo mode is ideal. But either way im going all in. Specially for the minis as they are fun to paint and they work well for my ttp rpg in the X-men universe.
(they wont do this but) if they made every single stretch goal more equipment cards such that every hero has one, i would not complain at all. i do not need more marvel united (but im still backing because i am weak lol), but i would love to differentiate the heroes i have a bit more.
My rough count puts us at 140 hero/anti-hero’s from the last two seasons. They’ve already released 41 equipment cards for the old seasons in the stretch goals. So seems likely that almost everyone will get one by campaigns end. Edit-It’s only 27 characters with equipment cards (some received multiple cards) but that’s still 1/5th so far, so still seems likely.
I'm surprised at all the love the MU system is getting in the comments. I really like the game system myself, but it tends to get a lot of hate. MUX was the first KS I backed, so I'm weirdly nostalgic for this one (even though it's been only a few years). I had gone all in for S1 and S2 including cosmetics and in hindsight, I wish I had done game play all in instead. I might get just the core pledge here, maybe at the Galactus level. I love the game, but I already have so, so, much of it now.
I've got Marvel Zombicide Kickstarter coming this year(ish!) but own no Marvel United games is this still worth getting if you have Marvel Zombicide? Also is Marvel United okay for kids 10 and under?
Besides they're both Marvel and have miniatures, the games are completely different. I'd say it's worth it, especially if you have kids. It's the board game me and my 6 year old daughter have been playing the most. I do think you might want to pick up one or two of the previous core sets, so you'll have more 'famous' super hero's. In the USA you can score them pretty cheap.
Just when all in. As I feel the whole was intended to give more depth to the game. To appeal more to the gamer vs the original that seemed geared to mass market.
@@cincydooley: Galactus is well priced, SGs include well known characters, mechanics on the previews look great, equipment is a great response to updating past characters without needing replacement parts.
@@cincydooley Me and my friend group of course. Abomination, Black Knight, Wrecking Crew and Absorbing Man. I am personally a fan of Starjammers and Cyclops's Dad the Space Pirate :)
I was so excited for this season because I missed the first two kickstarters but I find out multiverse is only for the core box, you can't buy previous expansions like fantastic 4 and the stretch goals are starjammers and cyborg spiderman and it's just sad. What was even the point of this being a season?
I have all of the first two. This one is hard for me as I love the game, but I’m running low on space. I have a collection of other titles and had to constantly map out space just for Marvel United content. I’ll keep me eye on it but I may have to make the hard decision to pass on this one.
Went all in as well for S1 and S2 most likely not gonna go in. Way too much content and room for very little change. Might just get the base for equipments and K's figures but yea I only went through 40% of content
I'm a little confused why you made a whole video about why you shouldn't have backed marvel united x-men and now are saying you are getting marvel united multiverse... I don't think the changes here make it a very different conversation from what was in marvel united x-men.
@BoardGameCo well maybe I missed the main idea of the other video. From my understanding you gave reasons why it was not the best idea - i.e. the rationale that you can actually get through all the content won't apply anymore now with even more stuff. You also mentioned how we should be more consciousness of our spending decisions, countering FOMO, etc and thought that was a great message and I understand as a board game content creator your in a different space than most but caveating that your getting S3 seems a little counter to the overall message since there doesn't seem to be a whole lot in S3 that diminishes your rationale in the other video that you didn't really need it despite your justifications that it would be fine to get it (i.e. you manage your money well in other areas). I guess you made the video so I can't speak for what was the overall intended message - just what I got out of it as viewer. Regardless - thanks for your thoughts!
@@Narzghal the only thing I added was Sinister six/Carnage expansion. I'm not familiar enough with any of the other expansions in this campaign. I own all of the first 2 seasons and have no desire to pay another $400 just to play through their campaign decks.
I'll just stick to playing on Table Top Simulator where I can play it all for free. If they had sold everything at retail at a reasonable price, I might have picked up some stuff but CMON likes to abuse Kickstarter because they can make more money dangling their carrots to people with OCD and FOMO that have to have EVERYTHING. If there really was a Multiverse, it would be nice to live in a world where I could by the characters I wanted and the expansions I wanted. Instead, you have to go to ebay and pay crazy prices if you want anything besides the core sets.
Alex: let's talk about Marvel United

Yes, there are equipment cards for the previous seasons too.

I should not get any of it.
Songbird and Patriot kind of seal the deal for me even though the core set characters don't do a whole lot for me

I’m in the same boat. But it just makes the game more interesting over all.
It's 100% completely unnecessary... And I'm still going to get it

I went all in on the previous two versions. I am absolutely backing this one but may not go all in as I am running out of room to store it all.
I'm hoping for a storage solution ... low hope, but still some
You could get a Kallax as a storage solution :)
@@lukejw11 it's the stuff in the boxes; not the boxes I want a different storage solution for
I’m going all in. As in the previous ones. Still painting the minis. Lol.
