The Final Understanding is crazy thematic to how the Superior Spiderman comic run ends, that's really cool! I love that the rest of the Inheritors are at least henchmen for Morlun. They're all really important in the Spidergeddon event.
The superior Spider-Man is pretty consistent with the comic. If anyone isn't we're aware, the superior Spider-Man is where doc Ock takes over Spiderman man's mind. But, is guided by Peter's consciousness to do the right thing up until the point he realizes he has to let Spiderman protect the city and gives up control
Not power creep, but "interest creep". They've definitely balanced things so that S1 heroes are just as good with mostly only action symbols, but the decision space is just more thematic and cool with X-Men onwards.
24:50 That's not true. X-Men had 6 Heroes (Wolverine, Jean Grey, Beast, Cyclops, Storm, and Prof X), 2 Villains (Sabertooth and Juggernaut), and 2 Anti-Heroes (Magneto and Mystique). That is the exact layout as the Spider-Geddon set. Also, technically Juggernaut is an Anti-Hero because there is a set of Hero cards for him that were given away as a set of promos. I'm a huge Spider-man buff, so seeing this set exist makes me giddy. I love Spider-verse and I hope they have even more Spider-verse characters down the line. I would even love to see a Venomized set as well.
Zee and Milla refer to power creep a bunch but its more like "feature" creep. Those core heroes on avg have more symbols on their cards which compensates for the "mutant" change of having more special cards. Thor and Korg, for example, are two of the stronger characters in the entire system.
Yeah, I think they were using power creep incorrectly. Is there some power creep in MU, yes. That was true all the way back in the first kickstarter. But just because these new characters have more to do, does not mean they are stronger overall.
haha I've been making this exact argument for years!! Glad to see others feeling the same way! i think another great example is the OG Spider-man, who's "great power and great responsibility" specials are just straight up better compared to the newer versions. i usually find a mix of newer and older heroes is the best combination because the older heroes balance out the lackluster symbol count, but the newer heroes have just more versatile abilities.
very true! i almost want to house rule him so that he gains his tokens at end of turn like the newer spider-man versions to......but also there's something so special about taking out three thugs and a threat card all in one turn XD
According to the latest Multiverse update, this is now scheduled to come out mid-November. "We know you have been anxiously awaiting the release of Spider-Geddon. Unfortunately, we just got word from Spin Master that the street date had to be pushed back to Mid-November due to production issues. So, yeah, we'll all have to wait a little longer for our spider friends..."
You guys are 100% correct in that Spidergeddon is not for new players. But Spot was easy. But this was my knock on board game players vs. Card game players. Board game players will struggle much more defeating Villains. X-men is easily the best core box. It's just built best.
Go with the original core box and with X-Men United. Perfect way to get into the game. If I had to get an expansion, I’d try to get the Sinister Six one. It’s a pretty cool one and a lot of bang for your buck.
There is no power creep. Many times using characters like Black Widow from the og core set, who has more symbols and very consistent special ability is more useful than all these characters with more special cards, but they are situational and have less icons.
I think the generic equipment should come in retail core boxes. Don't get me wrong, I backed the KS so I'm getting them. But still, it's a lost opportunity. In this box, some people don't get equipment. In the multiverse box, the same. And the equipment that comes won't cover everyone on the past two core boxes either. It's also the matter of equipment for everyone. Some people get 3, other 2, others 1. I'm still gonna give at least 2 equipment cards to everyone, between their own, and generic
I really enjoyed this, but I am not a fan of Superior Spider Man and Morlun as villains. The former has WAY too many things you need to be keeping track of and the latter uses the mechanic that makes you choose entirely new characters, which is frankly obnoxious. I only like playing Morlun in commander mode with a hero that can mitigate damage. Such as Colossus or X-23 (who are obviously not in this set).
I can't believe they haven't beat spot (and find these villains to be difficult)! This game has always been a little too simple to win- I really, really wish it was harder! I even play with no double wild and still win every time
I beat Spot at GenCon, and I found his defeat to be incredibly satisfying! I am a seasoned United player, so I am not sure how this would be for new players.
I got this at Gen Con and first game played and beat spot on the last card, 3 player game. Very satisfying and very difficult. I own a lot of United and am a huge Spider-Man fan.
I think it’s a generational thing. If all you know is the latest movie, then this set is for you. But, to me having so many spider people is unnecessary. I want different types of heroes. I think the inhumans expansion would have made a much better standalone game. They seem much more varied and fun then so many spiders. But, the inhumans tv show flopped, so they kind of stopped pushing them.
Taskmaster was the third villain in the original core box

Came here to say just that. It’s one of the most thematic things I’ve ever seen in a game!

A fine addition to my collection

I felt like they don't mean power creep but more of a "fun creep". Sort of I prefer to have equipment and unique tokens than have more symbols
"Mechanical Spider Rams" He has robot goats?

Hey, i would really love where to buy it.
I cant seem to find it anywhere
Good point on the generic equipment cards. I don't see why you couldn't make the webshooters generic in this set. 😅
Come on October! Can’t wait to order this!
Mid-November according to the latest Kickstarter update 😢
@@TheBrodyman well poops 😞
Im looking to buy Marvel/ X Men united. I want to get 2 sets to start with. Which 2 sets would you recommend?
Go with the original core box and with X-Men United.
Perfect way to get into the game.
If I had to get an expansion, I’d try to get the Sinister Six one. It’s a pretty cool one and a lot of bang for your buck.
Isnt this the fourth core box or is multiverse the 4th one? There's so much content I cant keep track lol
I guess since this one releases before Multiverse it would be considered 3rd and then Multiverse would be 4th.
Morlun and his henchmen are these immortal reality jumping vampires that hunted the spiders in Spider-verse comic event.
Can't wait to have my copy next week,it looks amazing!

Any sense of when the game is going to be available for purchase?
Should be sometime in October
According to the latest Kickstarter update from the Multiverse set, this is coming out in mid-November.

This seemed to be the “we really love the Spiderverse” review, but what’s the opinion of people like me who don’t care about the Spiderverse at all?
I do NOT need anymore MU content but goddammit, you but Symbiote Spidey in an expansion then I'm buying 😅
These spider-themed sets don't interest me. Especially when all of Spiderman's interesting villains are in Kickstarter exclusives.
I really enjoyed this, but I am not a fan of Superior Spider Man and Morlun as villains.

According to Cmon late October. According to Amazon, December. Depends on who you believe.
As a new player, what should I buy?

@@philistineau As much as possible, at least one of your boxes must be a core box, but pretty much the more you buy the more you will like it.
Let’s go!!!
Best character in the box is Scarlet Spider.
Worst character in the box is Spiderman Noir.
this game is craked, has some serius spiderverse stuff and story lines scenarios.
