LoL, Easy now. I think it's just a matter of people in a hurry these days. Fast, cheap, easy. It's a shame what our Society is coming to. We all should do what we can to try to preserve the good in this world before it all goes to Hell, lol
Hey man my name is Michael Dalton me and my uncle r from Downsville la. We are commercial fishermen and we fish in lake darbonne. We watch all of your videos and we was wondering if you have a video on how to make 20” wide x 48” long wire nets?? If not could you please make one. And show step by step. Lol we are having trouble making some.
Not yet, but by far it's the most requested video. It's definitely gonna happen. We're so busy right now jumping back into the fishing content that I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Y'all stay on the bell 🔔 and I'll get it on here soon as I get a chance. Thanks for following us!!
Alright, they look great. It feels good to make something with your own hands and finally see it produce. Thanks for the video. I'll have to try it myself one day and see how it goes. Now get em wet and lets see what swims in.
Yes sir, thanks. Glad you enjoyed, hopefully we have some fish to show they work soon!!! I got some in, but we're gonna get these new ones in next week
LoL, I'll get around to it, but it's fishing time. We're gonna be running and gunning for the next three months. Got some new lakes in the schedule to showcase as well
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 I understand you're a busy man. What I'm curious to learn is how you make your flat throat I can do all the rest it's just those flat throats that give me a little trouble cuz I've never seen how flat throat wer made
That all depends on hoop size and mesh size. I go off how many mesh. It also can vary among net builders. It's kinda personal preference. Some like shorter throats, I like longer throats, but not too long. It really doesn't matter as long as you end up leaving a softball size hole IMO. Channel cats you can go smaller than that like baseball size. I catch everything in these throats I'm building. If I want channel cats I use wire nets
Never set hoop net before. Thinking of making one this winter. Seen picture on SCDNR site that had 30" at head down to 24" at tail. Appeared to have 3 throats. River I'm going to fish may be hard to find water deeper than 4'. Could you make 30" hoops oval to keep them 24" high? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
All depends on what kind fish you have in there. If legal the wire nets we use for channel cats are 18 in. You can also make like 30in hoop nets. Just a smaller scale of what we have. They sell all size hoops. Typically hoop nets do taper down
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 I was thinking that if you put bait between 2nd and 3rd throat, any fish going through 3rd throat couldn't eat any more bait so your trap would fish longer. The wider first hoop would act as small leads. Don't know, just thinking. Small rivers around here aren't very deep.
Beautiful craftsmanship. You've truly revived the old art that many today are either ignored or clueless about.

Definitely brought back a lot of memories hanging nets with my dad and grandad 50 years ago.
That's Awesome, glad you enjoyed. I can only remember back about 40 years, but good memories!!

Thanks. I'll probably get these in the water next week. I'll be sure to follow these nets in the videos to show if they produce, 😂
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 Buffaloes. You'll see a bunch of buffaloes.
Not where it's going. 0 Buffalo, lol
Nice looking nets . It was good to watch the whole process. Good luck on the fishing.

Another great video, I can't wait till you show us how you make those wire Nets

Maybe I'll start one earlier in my spare time and film it. Hope I get some spare time
Very interesting got to have patience !!!👍👍👍
Patience is a pre-requisit, lol
Thanks for the great instructional video! It is fascinating!
Yes sir!! Thanks for following us on this journey
Great net. Like I always say. Glad you share your knowledge.
Thanks Rod, the support means a lot from you guys!!
How long should the catch throat be from where it ties onto the forth hoop to where the tension lines tie onto the last mesh of the throat?
That all depends on hoop size and mesh size. I go off how many mesh. It also can vary among net builders. It's kinda personal preference. Normally on 2.5 mesh you end up 5-6 mesh on first throat, and 8-9 on second throat
👍😎

@edwardbeck8413 3 Throat nets catch good, but I've never used one. All mine have 2
How much twine does it take to build this net? How many 1lb spools?. Thanks
By hand I'm gonna say 2-4. I used several part rolls, so I'm not exactly sure. You'll at least need 3
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 thanks for your time .
No problem
What kind of line are you using and were do you get it?
Nylon Twine. Nets and more or anywhere really
You ever make wire nets?
I'm planning on doing that video some time this Summer
Nice
Thanks!!
Hello is that crude oil 😁
I'm sure it might have crude oil in it🤣
thank you
Thanks for watching!!
