  • Track 9 from their second album “Easy Action” released in 1970 copyright Straight Records. It was recorded at Sunwest Studios in Hollywood. The band’s songs were slowly evolving from their early psychedelic, avant-garde style to hard rock and featured the first songs to showcase Alice’s angry vocal style, for which he would become famous and imitated by every heavy-metal singer to follow. Frank Zappa’s record label hired Neil Young’s successful producer David Briggs for the project. Drummer Neal Smith recalled that Briggs hated the band and their “psychedelic shit” as he called it. He reluctantly went through the motions without offering the band any ideas or help with their arrangements as a producer normally would. Once recording was complete, the label rejected the producer’s tapes and instead chose to release the band’s rehearsal tapes as the album. It was panned by critics and failed to find an audience, becoming their second consecutive failure. They still had a three-record contract with the label but both parties were becoming frustrated by the lack of positive results. Significant changes in the coming year would shape their future and define the band. This album failed to chart. Written by Alice Cooper, Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway & Neal Smith and produced by David Briggs. RIP Glen Buxton & David Briggs. Featuring:

"You are the only censor. if you don't like what I say you have the choice. You can turn me off"
"If you don't like what I say you have the choice. You can turn me off"
(Well, I've written home to Mother)
(The ink ran from my tear)
    (I said Mama, Mama, please)
(Tell me why you brought me here)
