Scenic Arizona Road Trip: Tucson to Mt Lemmon Summit
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 сер 2020
- This is a road trip from Phoenix to Tucson Arizona. We explore the West part of Tucson from the Saguaro National Park, to the Sonoran Desert Museum then San Xavier Mission before we head up to the Summit of Mt Lemmon. This is my second favorite scenic drive in Arizona behind Oak Creek Canyon. There is also skiing at the top of Mount Lemmon at Ski Valley. You can hang out at the top of Summerhaven in the summer as well and just cool off from the desert floor in Tucson.

Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

The wonderful memories I have from the 70’s through the 90’s are some of my best memories. Summerhaven looks completely different.
Tucson, my home town. I have lived, hunted, and camped in all those places you show. I am now living in Florida soon to remedy that. Tombstone here I come. thanks for the memories.
I love Tucson and surrounding!!!
I live in Tucson, and agree...that's a beautiful drive!
I moved to huachuca city and landed the best job I’ve ever had and bought my house outright Being over 4000ft saves us frOm some of that Phoenix heat love the diversity of nature out here moving here was the best decision I ever made . Thank you for the video.
Good footage.
Wow Summerhaven, Az never knew there was a town like that. Elevation of 8000 feet. Nice pics ... tnx..
The fried bread at the mission was the best and the missile museum tour was great
Your footage on Tucson is absolutely beautiful. Thank you! My home for 16 years now.
great video, narration, scenery and informative!
Beautiful!
Missing Arizona big time already.
Every weekend, jump into the truck, w/camping - hiking gear, and head-out to Explore.
From June 2018 to June 2020.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you, for putting out a video seems like we get a bad rap because people don’t know the cool places to go!
I never heard anything bad about it. We were going to go last weekend but decided to go to Payson instead just for the fact we've never been there before and don't know where to go lol! This video was great! Now we are going! We have a somewhat similar channel you might be interested in ua-cam.com/channels/nBAT26PycFyMOO4s9psx0Q.html We are new and young empty nesters and will be budget exploring around in our converted minivan/rv adventure/ camper van with our pup JOJO. We will be going to dog friendly areas of course. Hopefully you have a chance to check it out!
I prefer Tucson than Phoenix anytime!
I found your channel by accident and am so glad that I subscribed. I have lived in Scottsdale for 23 years and find myself wanting to explore AZ more with my motorcycle. Your videos have given me many ideas as to where I want to go. I can't wait until it cools off so I can begin the journey.
I’m not a native Arizonan but I do love it here! U helped me see & learn a lot before my move n taught me a lot... n still teaching me so much for my kids n I too explore!
Love the video. Makes me love home even more 🙂
This was nice. Good job. How about a haunted, paranormal road trip.
Killed the edit on this video, good job
Next time you should stop at that gem store east of old Tucson with the teepee and dinosaur 🦕 out front. It's amazing like a museum. A real gem. I stopped in last June. Richard was fun to talk to. Worth a stop!
I second this!
I am loving all these videos! UA-cam suggested this channel and I have no idea why. But, I have always loved Arizona, been once years ago to Phoenix and The Grand Canyon. One day I hope to return and possibly live there part of the year. Thanks for the different town tours so I can decide where to go next!
A Good Video It's a place want to go
I love mount Lemmon dude
I forgot to mention that your videos are excellent. You can tell that a lot of time and effort goes into what you produce for your channel. THANK YOU!
Love the drone footage!
Head up to show low that canyon ride down & up worth drive.
Make sure you get some fantastic pie at the top
San Xavier Mission was founded by Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino, also he founded Magdalena and many more missions throughout his life.
Just moved to Tucson from VA back in april and we love it here. Been to the desert museum twice. Such a neat and educational place.
Great tour! Many fond memories of our old home state.
Love it! Some of my favorite spots!!!
Great footage! Thanks for sharing!
Great vid, everything looks so familiar.
We enjoyed this very much, thanks so much for sharing it 😃👍 We hope to be able to visit Arizona this winter if things ever settle down 🤞
Nice video!
I enjoyed that!
Thank you! I am grateful to you for these videos and your FB group page as they have been instrumental in my making decisions to move from Seattle. I am pretty sure I've settled on Green Valley/Sahuarita, south of Tucson - so this video was extra helpful! I've also made some great connections through the FB group. Thank you!!
hey jeff. cool vid. i see you have been stepping your editing game up a few notches. very nice. ;)
Heading there 1st week of September! Yeah!
Lived in Tucson 12 years. Extensive backpacking and exploring. Never saw a Gila monster.saw less than 10 rattlesnakes sure did have run ins with the scorpions and Hornets. Ouch
I lived there 4 years and never saw a Gila monster but on my vacation last year I actually saw one on the move in the catalinas after the big fire. I hope he was alright.
Nice video homie! I like Arizona except Phoenix! Everything else is cool.
Man you're all over Arizona nice job
There is some great spots for people who like to climb.
Keep up the vids!!!
Another great informative professionally done video, Jeff. In the future could you do a video of the drive up South Mountain overlooking Phoenix? Also, whenever Monument Valley reopens again, that would be an awesome video. I never have been there, thanks.
Yep we can make those happen!
Love Tucson
cool thanks .....
We are going to camp at Buckskin park in October. We've never been there.
I really enjoyed your video. 👍🏼 Please Make More. ⭐️
Greetings from Albania.👋🏼🇦🇱
Also, Let’s build each other Up. 💪🏼😏
Mt Lemon Recently just had a forest fire and it burned a significant portion of the mountain down.
Was this filmed before or after the Bighorn fire? The north side is all burned up but the scenic drive up the mountain is still good and kind of interesting seeing the small patches browned out by the fire. Right now there is no camping and the rangers are ticketing people. what for I don't know but stick to the parked pop-outs where you can park and there is no hiking just car sight seeing. It was fun up there when the monsoon hits because you have a huge view of the surrounding valleys and the lightning show was fun at the top. Also, the name of the road you take is Catalina freeway. Just stick to it and it takes you all the way to Summerhaven. During normal summer seasons there's also campgrounds for summer camping. Not many drives where you can go from Cactus ville to alpine mountain in twenty minutes.
Take us on a fishing trip in the mountains.
I have never seen the Desert Museum so empty!!
Nice drive 👍. Would you be able to cover Chiricahua National Monument?
Hey, most of Mount Lemmon is now burned to a crisp (but not mostly along Mount Lemmon Highway).
Go to san Manuel, stop by the cemetery in mammoth
And La Casita!!
@@ChappoTC yes! Can't forget about la casitas. Shout out to the Reynosos.
Thanks for the excellent video. I live in San Diego, and am contemplating moving to Tucson, possibly next year. Could you film some additional neat spots in Arizona, such as Chiricahua National Monument, Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend, and Antelope Canyon?
Have you moved there if you don't mind me asking?
@@luperamos7307 This is livingartdesigns06. For some reason, UA-cam hides my replies to people's comments. I wasn't able to move to Tucson, because of the national economy and my financial situation. Sorry I can't help you if you are inquiring about that city. I'm still in San Diego.
@@judeguillen5328 I appreciate your response. I hope things work out for you. Tuscon should still be a lot cheaper than San Diego, even though prices have gone up there as well.
Thank you for the videos but I do have to say. I thought this one was going to be about the towns in and around Mt Lemmon. Should have been named Tucson.
Thx Jeff, Lemon Mt is near the top of our list, along with Tucson and Tombstone. Shared
I would have appreciated seeing more of the area at Mt Lemmon. You didn't show much. Thanks for all your videos.
Because of the fires a lot of the amenities were closed.
San Xavier is said, San Haviar and MT Lemmon burned this year.
Road trip to Sahuarita, AZ next? 👀
Hi Jeff, I was wondering when you shot the footage for this video? I live in Tucson and Mt. Lemmon has been on fire all summer. I haven't been up there since before the fire so if this was shot after the fire then I'd be surprised at how well it looks.
I was up there a few days ago ( 8/21) and it looks pretty good. Right now, you can't use the hiking trails or campsites but the restaurants and stores seem to be open.
7:58 Revenge of the nerds
The music was to loud couldn't hear you talking. Would of been nice to show more footage of top of mt lemon or some hiking trails before the top. There is a lake up there i heard. That would of been nice to see.
What was the temperature difference when you got to Mount Lemmon h
Compared to when you were in town?
Gina Michele much cooler. 20 degrees on the summit
Sahuarita vs Marana
It's not such a long ways away for me, I can reach the top by car from my house in about an hour
You've just been up there? Is it open now after the fire? I've been waiting for Mount Lemmon to open to take my daughter up there.
Summerhaven is open.
Where did y'all move from?
Not sure what a staghorn Cholla is, I'm assuming you mean a buckhorn cholla... But that one in your vid was a chain fruit(jumping) and not a buckhorn 😎
Could you see much fire damage from this years fire?
What does Mt Lemmon look like after the fires?
Some fire scares but not too bad
I enjoyed your video but music is loud hard to hear what your saying.
You have a great narrating voice. That background road noise and static have to go.
I have some books on Amazon-Audible and I would like for you to consider narrating one. They have several options to work out details of compensation. Look on my youtube channel to find links to them on audible. If you are interested let me know.

It's pronounced San Ha-vere
No, The title says “Tucson to Mount Lemon” and only the last minute or so was devoted to Mount Lemon. Deceiving. Not subscribing nor liking the video.
Butt hurt much?
