We don't see those 100+ numbers often in Tampa but the heat and humidity get to me in July & August here. Interesting that our water is awful too!!!! The best tap water that I've had is Chicago!
The tap water in western NY was pretty good too. We have a lot of mineral deposits and hard water here in Phoenix.
Great topic. I was just creating my script for a pros/cons about Vegas.
That will be interesting to see how they compare. Have fun with it.
Oh gosh, I couldn’t handle that heat! Great advice on places to escape to doing those times.
I didn't think I would do well coming from Rochester NY but it beats the cold winters any day.
I had to replay the water moment - good thing I was not drinking something myself. Great information - look forward to a visit one day.
Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe, I should have a warning so people don't spit their drink on their screen.
Thank you :)
Great insights, Amy! We absolutely love it here in AZ :)
Me too.
Thanks for the video. I've visited a fews time and looking to move there from Pennsylvania this year. So much to do and see, and love the warmer weather! Looking at Maricopa since it's even more affordable.
Maricopa and Buckeye are some of the more affordable areas. I cover Buckeye and I can connect you with a great Realtor who covers Maricopa. Feel free to call, text, or email me if you need any help Marty.
Didn't realize AZ would have bad allergy probs, too!
Sam Sansalone this year was the worst. It is the #1 thing I hate about Phoenix.
Great rundown on Phoenix. Drove from Vegas to the Grand Canyon once during the summer and the Arizona temps were pretty severe. The low humidity and the car's a/c made it more comfortable though. Luckily everyone has their own ideas on where to live, otherwise, Hawaii be way too overcrowded.
Yep, we try to leave town or stay inside after 10:00 AM as much as possible. I try to have all my appointments for home showings early.
Hey, but the Cardinals have a exciting new coach now! Great video Amy! Love the points you made. I also love Mom and Pop shops!
Teddy Lopez I think that coach is going to mean more women watching the Cardinals.
Phoenix seems like a great place to live. Everyone place has pros and cons.
I love it here.
2:00 it took an amazing amount of engineering to get water from Colorado to your tap just so it can taste bad.
Sports... When Gonzo and the unit were on the D back's everyone was on that train
If anyone wants to go to a good Irish pub Rose McCaffrey's, Seamus McCaffrey's, O'Connor's pub, and Padre Murphy's
Thanks Amy! Great information!
Thank you. Stay safe out there.
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 You too!!
I can relate!! After graduating HS in Colorado I was ready for warm weather and headed to Phoenix for a couple years. Unfortunately, the drinking age of 19 at that time, and the Devil House, wasn't very conducive to good grades so I headed back to CO. I'm with you on the heat....it wasn't "hot" until it hit at least 100! But it was good training for later spending 6 years in Kuwait, which started to get "hot" around 120!! Thanks for bringing back some memories!! :-)
120 is awful, I don't care how dry it is. 100 is not bad especially if it cools off into the 70s at night.
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 It is hot, it beats 135! Or more occasionally. 😮🐪🐪🌴☀️☀️🌡️🌡️🌡️
It hit 114 on Wednesday. This is one of things not so great about Living in Phoenix but Flagstaff is only a few hours away. How do you escape the Phoenix heat?
Love it mom
Yup MN we have the humidity! It's definitely not a dry heat.
Brian Stites - Real Estate Guide I don’t miss humidity.
Relocated to AZ 3 years ago from Long Island, NY. The winters here ALONE make it worth it! Not to mention cheaper apartments (I rent), less restrictive apartment properties, what I mean by this is you're allowed to have pets in most apartments, your credit doesn't have to be stellar, just leave a deposit etc. Where I'm from you have to LITERALLY leave 1 month down, last month down, and like a $1000 deposit + Realtor fee AND your credit has to be STELLAR....AND you need references! Ridiculous LOL! The tap water is terrible I recommend Ready Refresh, I have 5 gallon jugs delivered to my home, Nestle Pure life water is Delicious! Best Freedom out here too if your hobby is firearms, and REALLY good roads for Motorcycle riding!
For me the Sunshine pretty much every day is Beautiful! Even now, when it's 110+degree's out, the Sunshine keeps me in a positive mood even though it's hot out. I DO NOT miss shoveling snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What I don't like, to be completely honest...
1. Tweakers and deranged nomad homeless people, they're EVERYWHERE out here. SO far I've lived in Glendale, and now in Tempe, watch your possessions around these people, I've caught them looking in my truck many times they steal a lot and use knives to rob people, check the crime stats in your area it's shocking. Carry a gun or at the very least pepper spray.
2. Vehicle registration is expensive, my 2017 truck will cost me $500 in September for 1 year!
3. Pizza/Chinese food sucks compared to back home
4. I've had better Mexican food back home lol
The water 😂😂😂😂😂😂 our water here is terrible too. Can’t drink the tap. I could not tolerate the heat. But 8 months out of the year...I can deal with the rest. Omg taxes 1200 a year?????? My taxes are almost 8,000!!!!!!!
Great video Miss Amy! Finding a humorous and still informative perspective of Phoenix from a realtor I always expected to be as nonexistent as finding a lawyer that shines their regal dress shoes themselves:) Nonetheless, I'm happy you covered this premise as a New-Yorker (you, not myself...)!! That comment of "114 last Wednesday", yeup, I was out getting food boxes from the food bank that day so I feel you there;)
Thanks. I will take AZ over NY any day.
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 You got that right! No pushing and shoving on sidewalks here in AZ like NYC.
@@linuxbuttholegumdumpster8809 Happy Holidays
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 Same to you Amy Hayslett:) And do go see Star Wars 9 if you get the chance. I'm going in a day or 2 so I'm very excited😁 ##keepit100
Yeah you are just like me, you seem like a cold weather type person. Yeah I am thinking about moving to Phoenix or Oklahoma City. I am leaning towards Phoenix because of the larger population meaning more diversity.
Well, I don't think I could take the cold weather anymore. Even this summer, as hot as it has been, I would take over a Rochester NY winter. I do like to get up to Flaggstaff once in a while to escape summer heat and to see snow in the winter but it is sunnier in Flagg then Rochester NY.
That’s surprising about the allergies. Nice video. Flip flops in Jan sounds pretty good. I just finished shoveling snow:(
I don't miss shoveling the snow.
I noticed that you used to live in Rochester. I did too for about a year and a half when I was 12. That was REAL snow.
@@HarryMoore I don't miss the snow at all but I do miss the mom and pop restaurants.
Oh My Gosh - I'm watching a 2nd video from you and you moved there from ROCHESTER?? That's where we are!! (Fairport) - where were you in Roch? Before Roch we were in LA for 20 years...we did develop allergies here in Rochester (only recently - never had before) - lots of good info here...we hope to visit this winter for a couple of months to check out Tucson and Phoenix - but we are health-food foodies so...hmmmm
I grew up in Rush NY. I have a sister in Fairport. I am no expert on health food but I think you can find what you are looking for in the metro Phoenix and Tucson areas.
Great videos! We are looking in the Goodyear area. Do all homes in that area has that special assessment? Is there any 55+ communities UNDER 200,000 or within 20 mile radius of Goodyear?
Not all of the homes have a special assessment. There are two 55 plus communities in Goodyear. They are PebbleCreek and Canta Mia. It is very difficult to find any homes under $200K anymore.
What do you love about living in Phoenix?
Great video! Is phoenix a good city for Millennials? Is their a night life? Im looking to move out of Atlanta and Phoenix looks like a good option.
Well I am asleep before 9 pm usually, Stephen but I would say if you are looking for night life, look to Central Phoenix and Scottsdale. There are many new restaurants and bars in Phoenix. Tempe has a lot to offer as well being a college town and all three are close to each other.
Woo-hoo!!! 😁😁😁
u can rent your house when are leaving to California
Do you mean rent your AZ house and move to CA or rent your CA house and move to AZ?
Allergies in Arizona? That DOES surprise me.
It used to be the place to go for asthma and allerigies but everyone brought their trees and plants with them.
I live in Phoenix, and the tap water is just fine. I never drink bottled water.
It tastes bad where I live and at my last house in Glendale. I can't remember if I drank tap or bottled when I lved in the City of Phoenix but that was about 20 years ago.
Amy, well, you just need to make yourself happy. I just hate spending money on what is free from the faucet, and I have been places where you really absolutely cannot drink tap water. Take care.
speak a little louder please!
Thanks Stephen. I should have cranked it up a little bit. I will watch the rerun and make adjustments next time.
That’s where I want to retire one day.... hopefully!
It definitely is a popular retirement area.
I like ⚾️⚾️⚾️⛳️
I do too. And I love going to Spring Training with my son.
Wow! Your property taxes are crazy low.
I know and homes in Sun City for that price range are well under $1000. The original Sun City doesn't have any schools because it is a retirement community.
