Summer in Phoenix - How hot is it in Arizona?
The heat of Florida in summer time can make you feel you feel miserable but the state is beautiful Florida living in the Caribbean but without the Caribbean mountains.
You just need water to soften caliche, its a gouge contractors use to make more money
I understand you really love Phoenix, but the video felt incredibly biased. You neglected to mention culture, people, nor accessibility by foot vs car.
That could be a whole other video. Chicago has some great culture and I love that and better transportation. I would love to have the metro expand here.
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 I think your title should be different then -- kinda clickbaity. I went in thinking I would get an actual fair review of each not "Let's talk about how great Phoenix is". For anyone who wanted to know some actual negatives of Phoenix in comparison to Chicago, here some are: Phoenix is essentially a large surburb (it will take you 30 minutes to an hour to get to anything), there is way less to do in Phoenix for a higher price, less culture, our Meetups unless you are over a certain age or not looking for an interest-based one are essentially dead, our schools are incredibly underperforming, housing is incredibly expensive and continues to rise in cost (unless you can afford $450k, have fun either in a ratbox or in a place with a lot of shootings), our apartments and houses are cheaply built and you can hear your neighbors, Phoenicians can tend to be a little cold and do not interact as much with strangers, it is hot 6 months of the year and many people within the vulnerable population die due to the heat (or get severe burns if they fall on the pavement), our concrete here leads to a heat island effect where it's hot even into the night, transportation is indeed incredibly poor here, there are a ton of HOAs here and NIMBYs so all the worst city planning is not really changing but only getting worse, the suburban sprawl causes a strain on resources such as police and EMTs, we are purple but still have a lot of conservatives here, there is a lack of community. Moving is always going to introduce some huge changes, but you trade good weather for a host of other problems that Chicago food coming to Phoenix is not going to address.
Phoenix is by far one of the worst cities in America. The culture is mostly blah, the sprawl is awful, and the weather is worse still. Hard pass on this town.
It is definitely not for everyone. What is your city?
Agreed. The zoning for Phoenix is awful, everything looks the same, and dealing with the sprawl is exhausting. Hard to form community when you constantly have to drive 35 minutes to it.
The heat 🔥 😫
I am melting. Trying to get all my appointments done well before noon. Drink lots of water.
This is nice!
I lived in Dallas area from 1975-2004. Now I live in El Paso - don’t move here. I would NOT move back to the Dallas area. I would, however, move to Tarrant County to Fort Worth or Arlington (Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys). Do your research!!!
I am a native of Phoenix Arizona and grew up eating awesome Pizza, and sandwiches throughout my whole life at Mom and Pop Style places throughout the valley. Unfortunately big chains have run a lot of these small businesses out of business. Ones that have stayed in business like Ray's, Santisi Brothers, and Napoli Pizza have changed to less quality ingredients, and pizza has gone downhill tremendously. Two and a half years ago I decided to start making pizza myself because I could not find a good New York style pizza that was worthy of buying. Every place I stopped and wasted $20 I was always super disappointed. So after 2 years of playing with dough recipes, Top Notch ingredients, and buying a commercial deck oven I have what I think one of the best New York style pizzas in Phoenix. Soon to open a brick-and-mortar store in the North West Valley will keep you posted. And yes as far as Wood Fired Pizza goes I 100% agree that Chris, and Marco have it down pat at Pizza Bianco. For all of your subscribers that don't know, Pizza Bianco use the best quality organic flower from the reopened Hayden Mill which sources all of their grain from local organic farms in the Phoenix Metro area. This quote from Chris Bianco will ring true in my head till my last day on this Earth. "If you put S#!t in the oven, you get S#!T out of the oven" REGARDS.
I hear you. Most of the pizza places for a casual week night quick pizza place are not good. The ones we like are the more specialty ones that cost a bit more and require a bit of a drive.
I’m tired of the heat think I’m going somewhere up North I wouldn’t mind Colorado or Montana. But winters can be very brutal and Montana has Grizzly Bears which is even more deadlier than alligators! 😂😂
What about Flagstaff?
Neighbors are probably too scared to talk to anybody.
Thank God I'm coming to visit in December
That is a great time to visit. Will you be coming to the west side of Phoenix? There are a lot of great things to do and see.
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 I'm not exactly sure yet. I haven't booked a airbnb just yet. But I will be in Phoenix for the 1st time. It's my birthday month 😊
There has to be a quality of like minded people in order for tartesso to survive. We're seeing undesirable elements here now and more home owners are selling their homes. It may be time to run like hell unfortunately.. it was nice while it lasted...

Phoenix 2022 average home price is way up to 450k, projected to be 500k by end of 2023. I gotta GTFO of here asap. Rent is near Cali prices too!
Prices have gone up quite a bit, not only in Phoenix but in Texas and almost everywhere. If you are renting and not locked in that is especially tough.
AZ is much more intriguing to me and I'm from New England so grew up near the ocean. I mean it's not like I couldn't visit the West Coast and the ocean for vacation. Visited Florida for many years and I absolutely can't stand the humidity.
Does this video have sound?
You need a powerful amp to even hear this.
The volume is way too low on this.
Coming from someone who lives in FL, you are 100% correct. On top of everything you mentioned, there’s almost nothing to do in Florida except lie on the beach all day. Arizona is beautiful, versatile, and full of adventure ready to be had. 🙌🏼
I do like the beach but I love the mountains.
I agree 100% too, there is nothing to do in Florida. I'm in Florida myself, I'm looking to relocate to Arizona, but the Mesa area, next month.
Obnoxious.
You didn't mention when rough plumbing goes in. I imagine after grading lot then before slab poured.
Rough plumbing is done after frame usually after rough HVAC and around electric rough. As far as the plumbing in ground like sewer lines that is done before the slab is poured. When I sold new homes I recall this was called soils.
Woah. This one is a great neighborhood!
Thanks. I liked it so much I bought a home here.
Green Grass and trees rule the landscape!
North Valley
I may have to do a north vs south video
I literally live at Verrado Heritage
lol
I literally live in the verrado heritage
Hello neighbor
West for us. 🥰
Sounds like a lot of things are going wrong in this industry and the customers the ones being inconvenienced because of incompetence
I understand that it’s difficult and expensive but I wish there was more effort put into basements. Homes should be built to last and if they last long enough the energy savings will eventually pay off the difference.
I agree. I would love to see more basement homes. I still wish I had one.
13 more days till closing.
All excellent points. I would add to the shade screens point: it's not just human comfort. I had to replace the double-pane glass in multiple windows because the old ones delaminated. I had to do this even on the south side of the house (predictably, the north side wasn't a problem). Delamination happens because of the temperature differential between the up to 120 degrees outside and the 80 degrees or less inside. This causes the panes to warp enough to pull them apart. Note that all the delaminated windows were still functionally sound, but became very cloudy. I got shade screens to keep the outside panes cooler, and this helped. You might wonder if a shade screen outside would reduce light coming in through the window too much. An intact window with a shade screen looks much, much better than a cloudy delaminated window. And, you'll save some on cooling costs.
Go to Houston Texas in the summer. 96 to 102 with 40 to 50% humidity and your shirt will be soaked in 30 minutes...
I would take Dallas over Houston any day. I can't take the humidity.
There is Dallas, Texas summer hot and then there is Phoenix furnace hot.
We visited Dallas in the summer and I was hoping it would be a relief from Phoenix. It was slightly better but a trip up to Flagstaff would have provided more relief from the heat.
Great video. What's the traffic like on I-10 during peak hours to go to Phoenix or Chandler?
The traffic has gotten a bit challenging lately. The winter visitors are back and there is a lot of construction. I haven't been out to Chandler in a while but here in Buckeye they are working on I-10 and lanes are closed so traffic is a lot worse than we have been used to out on the west side.
Don’t go on 10 in peak hours hurry up and sit
Glad to see you back. Great info herein, thank you!
Thanks. I am already behind on my next video as the market is so busy.
Amy! So glad to see this Verrado video; very informative, thank you
Thanks for watching.
Hello. Interesting presentation. Thank you. I have bought a home in Scottsdale, AZ and we did have a termite inspection that came out positive and had to have that fixed. I have not heard of the CFD issues. Bought home down there in 2012. Is the CFD a new item on a home. What exactly does this so called lean cover? Just curious.
You may not have a CFD in your neighborhood. You can check your tax bill to see if there is a line itemization for a CFD. If you have one there should also be a disclosure in the papers you signed with your builder. The CFD covers different items depending on the area. It is usually for some kind of capital improvement that benefits the specific area where the CFD applies.
Lived here about 17 years, & the 115 degree summers are wearing us out. Wash your car one day and it's dirty again the next, as you see the dust that has settled on your car...& to think you're breathing it. If you don't have dry eye, you'll get it here so you gotta make eye drops one of your best friends. Also valley fever happens here due to the desert spores that are kicked up by the dust storms & construction. Used to be if you had asthma, the desert was a good place to be, not so much any more as it's mainly pollution from vehicles, dust, temperature inversion etc. which holds all that down during the "cooler" seasons, keep your inhaler with you at all times (spouse has asthma). "The valley" as we are called sits in a "bowl" with the mountains around & all that dust & pollution has no where to go, unless we get a good rain. Where ever you go every place has it's good & bad, but due to the influx of people moving here (like other places) rent, traffic etc. follow. do your "due diligence" before making a decision, as I'm researching for some place else, maybe in the middle of Wyoming or Montana.
Poor picture quality
Born and raised in Phoenix, and really as long as you have access to air conditioning you're in the green zone and all is well. Don't have access to A/C? Start panicking.
What a nice tour. The houses are such a beauty!
Everywhere is unique and diverse but what ruins the vibe is the racist white folks/politicks, I have encountered through the valley, sometimes I wonder if they are human being.
What is the HOA for Victory?
What is the purpose of the CFD? Who gets the money and for what is it used? Is it a one time assessment or yearly?
Great questions. The CFD is set up to pay for expenditures that benefit an area. For example, your neighborhood might need a new bridge to cross a wash. Instead of having all of the city residents pay for this item, only the residents in the CFD pay. So the CFD is created to benefit the area and collect the fees that apply to that area. Some CFDs can be paid off while others are on going.
@@amyhayslettrealtor1901 Thanks Amy!!
Santarra Buckeye Az I luv itt
Santarra community and I luv it..THE TARTESSO COMMUNITY WAS A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE
The school only goes to 5th grade! And the new school that should be done in 2021 will also only go to 5th grade! And DHR home's are fastly done and NOT done right! The only internet they have out here is Cox and it NEVER works so do NOT plan on working from home! I live here so I would know! Other then that the neighborhood itself is amazing!
It would be nice to have a middle school. They used to have 6th grade at the Tartesso school.
Thinking about moving to AZ. Would you recommend Tartesso? Is the community close to being fully built out and are most homes occupied? Any new retailers around? Would you be able to share your personal thoughts about Tartesso? Pros? Cons?
Property damage is already a concern because of unsupervised kids. The parks are being vandalized as well. It's time to go. Remember, good neighbors are good but when they don't stick around there's your sign.
I can’t wait to move here it’ll be a fresh new start
If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me.
