Been here 30+ yrs. Lived in every city in East Valley plus, Show Low. Now in Chandler. I love it here. How can you not? Sunny, Sunny, Sunny. Rarely rains unless it’s Monsoon season. Yes, Summer is unbearable at times. Getting in your car can be horrible. You see every tree in parking lots has first dibs no matter how far from the store. Lol. The electric bill is enormous in the Summer, but Winter you can pretty much go without turning on the heat. It’s worth it. Christmas my first year was odd. Seeing cactus decorated instead of trees took a bit to get used to. I suggest you take a trip up to the White Mountains if you haven’t. I’m Vegetarian too and yes, there are plenty of places to eat. Yes, family and friends love to visit so you’re never lonely. 😄

A common problem with these kind of videos is that they cite Arizona, when actually they are talking about Phoenix. There are basically 3 different areas in Arizona. The Valley (Phoenix), central highlands (Prescott), and the high country (Flagstaff, Show low). All have 3 different climates. Flagstaff being like Michigan, Prescott being like Tennessee, and Phoenix being like Miami. The only difference is the humidity. It's dry everywhere in Arizona. It can get below zero in temperature at night in Flagstaff. Flagstaff gets really cold in the winter, but the summers are very comfortable. Prescott is a happy medium and recommend that area as the best place to move to. Payson is nice too. Phoenix is where you go if need to make money. Elevation is everything in this state. Flagstaff is about 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Prescott is 20 degrees cooler. Tucson is about 5 degrees cooler. There is a lot of theft in Tucson, especially cars as it is so close to the border. Tucson however is very nice, just make sure you lock your stuff up.

Having a pool in the back yard make it the only activity worthwhile doing on the hottest days outside. Also, Rocky Point Mexico is the closest beach (about 3-4 hours drive) with clean beach, resorts, warmer sea waters and great seafood.

I grew up in northern Minnesota and have lived in the east valley twice and now in WA state. I took living in Arizona for granted. I don’t like the extreme heat, but I also don’t like the extreme cold. In hindsight, Tempe is objectively the best place I’ve lived. Easiest place to meet people and actually make friends and it’s surprisingly convenient to get around without a car. Valley Metro is truly a good transit agency. I’m planning on moving back there and buying a home this time.

My husband and I love living in Gilbert, AZ. We came from metro Detroit area. We hate the weather in Michigan. Arizona's weather, palm trees, swimming pools, resort living and getting more home for the money drew us to Arizona. We feel more alive and energetic here. God, conservatism, fitness and nutrition is the lifestyle choice of most people in Arizona. We love it!!!

What I like most about Arizona is the weather. You will find yourself not being filled with sweat as it's so dry that when you do sweat it evaporates as soon as it presents itself. You don't get that moisture on outside of the glass of your cold drinks. When I go back to Michigan to visit I get reminded of the humidity.
Hawaii is a 6 hour non-stop flight. Go there frequently.
Prescott is probably the nicest place to live in Arizona as it's elevation is just right.
The unique thing about this state is that if you want to have a summer and winter home your choice becomes much easier as you only need to travel to Flagstaff for the summer and Phoenix in the winter. It's all determined by elevation. Whereas is you lived in Michigan you must travel to Florida, then drive back to Michigan in the summer. The distance is much shorter here to achieve the same thing. Florida and Michigan are very humid. Yuck!

The traffic is only a medium annoyance compared to other places... We have rush hour, but other times everything is free, almost too free because people drive too quickly.

The cost of paradise is crazy expensive. So when we had our vacation in AZ in Jan 2018, we like it alot and so decided to move.
Its been 2 yrs and im so glad we made the move. We were able to buy our 1st home in 3-4 mos of living here. Weather is great except of course the summer heat but bearable as long your indoors.

This is a very good video, thanks. Been at Airbnbs for a couple years in the southeast and I like Arizona the most but for weather, outside of Phoenix even in the desert area is cooler, due to less heat island effect of a major city. Even so, although 110-118F+ heat is oppressive I consider it much less so than Midwest cold I had experienced. For me, the heat is tolerable, and the sun is a critical for me for vitamin D. I'll probably end up in Phoenix eventually, if I stay in Arizona, for a job. There's good opportunity in my field here.

Lived in AZ since 1999 and our indoor season is most definitely in the summer. Just make all your activities are indoor activities, just as you would do indoor activities during a snowy cold winter in a colder state. Movie theaters, malls , indoor amusement parks, maybe a water park if it's low triple digits that day. There are many restaurants, or malls or indoor rock climbing or racket ball or ice skating or indoor rodeos or Lazer tag or etc etc etc. So many many things to do indoor during summer months. But when fall and winter roll around you remember why you love Phoenix! Welcome to Arizona!

I can only run to my car; I can't even hang outside in the day during the summer without burning. Of course it is cooler. It is 3,000 feet higher in elevation. You can choose your temperature by going up or down the I 17 to match your desire. That's one thing that I love about Arizona, the 3 hr. up or down temperature control. Flagstaff has 108 inches of snowfall in a winter, and Toronto (at the airport), only has 42 inches in a winter. Stay out of Flagstaff in the winter. I was driving truck, eastbound, and at Kingman, the I 40 eastbound was shut down because of several tractor trailers, and a dozen cars in the ditch at Williams. Not for you, unless you love skiing. I want to be a winter snowbird to Arizona, but not for the summer ! I would do the 7,000 foot level, like Flagstaff, Williams, and the Grand Canyon, in the fall, or spring though. Absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous views !!!! then the thrill wore off swifly meaning like you are stuck in doors for 8 months. You can't escape the heat whereas you
can escape the cold. Also, there is very little to do culturally downtown Phoenix is a blight, no clubs, no art galleries
maybe in Tempe. Be prepared to drive long distances to do anything fun Renting is cheap but the water and electric bills
offset the rent big time, good luck talk to someone who lived there after 6 months I knew 10 people who left the state.

Cassandra Fils I live in Denver right now. Denver is becoming like LA, there is constant traffic even at 10pm in the after noon. A nice 2 bedroom apartment in a safe place will not be any lower then $2000 a month, a 1 bedroom will run about $1,700. Studios are no less then $1,500 again in a safe nice area. So many people live her now houses are on the market for no more then 2 weeks and it’s top price, so if you resale your house in 5 years you will actually lose money. Minimum wage is only $11/hr.
