Finally a video that actually shows how a router works! I search "how does a router work, and 3 videos in I found you. Thanks so much! I thought routers were way more complex, but they're not when you find this guy. I'm working on tables from pallet wood at age 14(almost), so I have to use cheap things. My plan is to make and sell tables, hopefully build sort of a shed(from pallets, and materials that you can't find for free which would be bought from table money), and move on to more high quality materials from stores alongside with a wider variety of tools, and make furniture during the summer, then sell it while I'm in school, so I can make a bit of money, hopefully plenty. I enjoy woodworking, so I decided I would go that route to get my family out of poverty. My dad isn't in the same as me and my mom because he did bad things, so we're surviving on food stamps... And it sucks. Again thank you so much, it helps a lot finding videos that make it easy, so thank you, thank you, thank you. God bless. 🙏✝️❤

Oh man. I was doing it roght and wrong at the same time. I got the one you can adjust in real time as my first router. The thing is, I was attempting tonmake and exact copy of a pre-cutted board and tried to do so by looking from a top-down view and couldn’t tell if the router was tilting. I did my best to keep it straight. I never thought of using one hand to hold the grip and the other to hold the lower side of the router to keep it as straight as possible. I messed up my first copy. But that’s how I learn. Next time, I’ll de better. Thank you for those good tips.
Hi, I just came across this video and found it informative and instructional and will be viewing your other Training Hands videos. I'm a total Neophyte to using a Router at min. 2:38 where you demonstrate the Push Cut and at min. 3:09 where you demonstrate the climb cut what material are you using between the table and the wood, to prevent the board from flying off the table when using the router? I'm aware your video is 3 years old just hoping this question does not fall upon blind eyes.

@@TrainingHandsAcademy Thank you. I have always loved working with wood but didn't have a lot of time for it. I had children to raise and worked a lot. I'm now in my 60s . A couple years ago ,a friend of mine had gutted a house next door to me . I have always wanted to fix up a home so I spent a lot of time with him learning and helping him. His wife was in remission from cancer so she didn't get out much. He got the house about half done and He got a fast growing cancer. His wife ask if I wanted to move into the home and finish it taking off all supplies off rent. I was at that time living with my son so I jumped on the offer. I spent the first month doing all the plumbing. The main pipes were in and some started. My age and being a small woman ,it took me 3 times as long as a man. UA-cam was a big help. My friend passed away 2 months after I moved in. A few months later his wife's cancer came back. Their son and the wife went and put the house in my name and gave it to me for all I had done for them. I'm now trying to finish the kitchen . Making my own epoxy counters and currently building a pantry. This is how I found you. Needing to use the router I bought a year ago. I will be checking in to and joining your new woodworking group.
Practice makes progress! :)
awesome video. great to get started with and straight to the point
Wow that was super helpful and quick, as I was rather apprehensive about what to look for in routers and how they work. Great stuff!

Excellent video tutorial, thanks from London England 👍😎🏴

Thank you for letting me know.
