  • A review of the 7755. This standalone diesel engine was released in 1983 as part of the second wave of sets in the 12v Grey Era (1980-1993) and had a short production run of only 2 years, as it was discontinued in 1985. I'm very happy to own this set in the condition it's in. I hope you enjoy the review! This set will be featured in the next layout, Layout 10.

    Gotta love some classic old lego trains! I have a ton of the old blue plastic rails from my father's track sets he had back in the day

      Ah yep, the Blue Era- 1969-1979. 12v or 4.5v? There were a lot of nice train sets released during that period as well, I'm considering getting 1 or 2, but the Grey Era sets are something else entirely...

    Love to see how passionate you are for all your trains 🙂 12V trains are the best for me, too.

      Thanks for the nice comment! 12v isn't as popular as 9v (harder to maintain, less available) but I agree with you, it's definitely the best!

      Every 12V motor has those grey rims around the motor wheels, those are to improve traction

      Jesse does have a boxed 7745 with all trays in his shop (which is VERY rare) right now... if you can fork over 700EUR... I would if I had that money!

      Yes! It was expensive and I was lucky to even have this listing available but worth it for the rarity. I've built Layout 10 and will be working on filming it over the next few days!

    Great review on this set with the sticker sheet and the box 👌 I just purchased this set with instructions but it’s incomplete, now to find the correct missing pieces, as yours is a early set could I ask do the bricks have pips on the sides as I have some bricks with pips and some without, 👍🏻

      @Reker1million  Рік тому +1

      Hi, thanks for the comment and sorry for the late response! The bricks of mine do indeed have pips on the side, I think all of them. Mine was one of the first releases so that would be expected, but I think for later copies (or in fact any 12v set where they changed the parts over time) some of the bricks can be early but other types can be late. Never the same exact type of brick, though. For example in 7745 you might have the 2x2 bricks being old variants and 2x4 bricks being new variants (as is the case for my set) but you will never see 1 2x2 brick with the old variant and another with the new variant in the same set.

    Excellent conditions! Amazing how the box looks after so many years. 38 years? 39 years?
    Was this the 12v motor you fixed in your other video?

    • @Reker1million
      @Reker1million  Рік тому +2

      Yep, it's hard to find a box in this condition! Almost 40 years at this point... (not sure what month they released 7755 in 1983 but based on motor dates I would guess early in 1983 or even late 1982)
      Great question! No, I got the motor I fixed separate with the set and it was already opened. The one I fixed was a type 1 black, but the one in this set is a very late type 2 black and it has never been opened.
