There are 2 versions of the instructions. I have the older style instructions. Have the set twice, only 1 time with instructions.

Thank you for opening it! This way we can see how the parts are arranged in the new box 😃👍

Of course! I couldn't pass up the opportunity of a sealed 7862 for $120, and I thought it would be cool for people to see a sealed set opening from 1981.

Nice unboxing a sealed 7862. I have not opened mine for obvious reasons 🙂I think yours is a version from 1982 or 1983, based on the instructions. Would you mind to check the digits engraved under the switch and the remote box? It is something like 25 2 or 18 3 or etc.

it interferes with the bar coming down from the magnet holder too

Actually it doesn't! The decoupler plate only blocks the 2x4 wheel bricks. Some of the 12V community members have speculated that the reason the decoupler released in 1981 was because its design was not final in 1980, so they delayed it a year. This could also explain the pins on the magnet holders - it's possible that an earlier design of the decoupler used those pins to decouple instead. Many mysteries of 12V...

@@Reker1million from the video, it looks like the bar gets pinned to the left, between the rotating part and the rail.

Yes I think that's just because of the angle I shot it at, the rotor isn't actually stopping the train because of it. The magnet can swing farther still to the left to just get around the rotor.
