Anyone ever wonder how this song would have changed the whole history of disco rap if the sample were to be pitched down & slowed down, I know around the time this song was being made there was no such thing as a sampler, those didn't exist.
It wasn't played on the radio at first, so the only place I could hear it was at the roller rink, so I went every Friday and Saturday night, and every Sunday afternoon and stayed for the full sessions (including "late skate" on Fri and Sat). When this song would come on, everybody in the rink would rush to the floor. There were coordinated routines to it as well.

I lived on South Beach, was 19 a bartender. Would walk around with friends at night and we'd all sing this song spot on. 59 now and can't remember my part. Came back to refresh my memory. Best time of my life!
I was 13 when this came out and my cousin had the album. We wrote down the words best we could and learned it that summer. It's still to this day the only song I will sing at karaoke, and for the most part I know the whole thing. My grown kids freaked out the first time they saw me do it.

I was 13 when this came out and my cousin had the album. We wrote down the words best we could and learned it that summer. It's still to this day the only song I will sing at karaoke, and for the most part I know the whole thing. My grown kids freaked out the first time they saw me do it.
