The 1991 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest is infamous for it's host horriblé Toto Cutugno who made it the longest contest ever at the time by talking and making tons of mistakes and never shutting up. Got on the nerves of then contest scrutineer Mr. Naef too. Funny though.

My mom loved Toto. When I showed her this, she said Toto is not really a host. And it shows. RIP anyways. Condolences to his loved ones

@@JeSuisReneTBF 1992 is also the most clumsy of SVT's shows. It doesn't have a worse reputation because it followed the absolute chaos of 1991, so it was an improvement but still worse than usual from Sweden imo.
I never realized how meme-worthy the 1991 contest was. It was the trainwreck to end all trainwrecks.
Moscow 2009 and Baku 2012 was kind of in the running but yeah nothing can or should top 1991.

Funniest thing I've seen in months! Brilliant.
I was just a kid when this was broadcast but have some vague memories it was all incomprehensible. All I remember was that our own tv commentator began reading out what the different countries had given (this was of course when there still were a lot of adult people who didn't understand English) so Toto's failures and misunderstandings were drowned out and not heard at all. My parents also said something like:"He seems to be having trouble repeating what he's hearing maybe he's drunk." After a while even they didn't care and just ignored him.
Anyways, these comments of yours are hilarious.
Let's hope RAI take it seriously for 2022 and get hosts that are actually fluent in both English and French.
Thankfully, Mika and Laura Pausini CAN speak both English and French😆 (I'm not actually sure if Alessandro can speak French but oh well, his English can make up for it🤗)

1990 and 1991. Yugo and Italy almost disaster of broadcast, but very good winners 😂🤗🎉
And this didn't even mention the live orchestra choosing violence against Greece with that sax solo.
Honourable mention to the deafening trumpet in Germany's entry (though that was a trainwreck either way)
This is still the worst presented Eurovision in History. Toto tried to make it all about him and anything and everything that coild go wrong did. The less said about the out of tune orchestra the better
Lets face it this wasn't a car crash it was a multi vehicle pile up including tankers carrying nuclear waste and raw sewage

I don't know what's the funniest part - His awful English enunciation, his general sense of looking lost on stage, repetition of information, or how he blatantly complimented all female artists he announced, kisses and all. I mean, this man is a treasure for all the wrong reasons.

1991-es Eurovízió rekordhosszúra sikerült, mert a pontozásnál Toto állandóan elbénázott mindent. Rossz országokat jelentett be rossz ponttal, lassan, mellébeszélve és mindenkinek elég hamar tele lett a töke vele, amit nem nagyon tudtak leplezni.
