Hi, good review. What are the motion controls like? Do you hold down the trigger and release to let go of the ball and use the control stick to adjust curve (like on the previous game), or does it track your movement as you throw like on Nintendo's Switch Sports? Finally, are the motion controls any good or are they patchy and inaccurate?
I dont feel like it works that way . It has been awhile. I feel like you sit your throw and then can do minor adjustments upon release. Like I dont think you could do major ball manipulation while the ball is out of your hand. I could be wrong been forever since I reviewed this.
It kind of looks like the precious game they released in 2019 with tweaks. I liked that game, but the online tournaments are annoying because they're timed. Really wish they would pre-release ten pin alley from PS1. Though not as feature filled as games today, they had a more realistic bowling presentation and mechanics. The tournaments were also deeper than the PBA games. You'd think given the PBA schedule and format that they would try to mirror it as much as possible in video games seeing as gaming has become a competitive sport nowadays.
Ten Pin Alley was so underrated!! That game had awesome bowling venues, unique and quirky characters, and some of the best pin physics that I've seen in a game. A new updated Ten Pin Alley pr simply an HD Remaster would be epic. I still play this game on my PSP every now and then, and it holds up well even today
Ahh it's a real shame you couldn't demonstrate any of the complexities of real bowling on the lanes. Decent coverage about the rest of the game though.
Why would they not have the ability to create your own bowler for Career Mode? That's a standard feature for sports games now and has been for decades.

@@GamerGuysAndGals motion doesn’t matter I think. I’ve tried flicking it. I’ve tried pulling back to charge speed for a sec or two then flicking forward. I’m pretty certain in arcade mode it is a random between a min and max power based on the balls speed stat. Fun fact: in pba challenge (the game this is taken from) the speed stat is called power because the speed of your throw is based on the max power of your ball and the way you throw, eg using touch controls touching in the middle, pulling back as far as you can swiftly, then swiftly flicking in the desired ditrction then releasing as far forward as you can. (Follow through) Sorry if this was undesired.
Debating between PBA 2021 and Brunswick… I think PBA 21 is the better investment, but not being able to create a player is kinda wack. I’ll probably grab this if I can get a friend to buy it too.
Meh.....it's ok......kinda a slap in the face for those that bought the first one for $20 and then this comes out a few months later. Feels like we should have been able to upgrade to 2021 for a discounted price. Anyways bought it anyways and really isn't much different other than being able to use the pros. No other game does that, its just how it works new year new title. Madden, PGA, NBA, no sport gives you that option just the way of games. Goes the same for non sports titles to like COD and Battlefield. New Year, New Game. Even if it doesnt change much.. Thanks for watching.

Even though Madden is notorious for doing the bare minimum as far as making improvements or changes between installations, they at least make SOME changes. The only difference between PBA Pro Bowling and PBA Bowling 21 is that you can now bowl as the pros, where as you couldn't in the first one. Not sure why that even matters since you can only play in that weird angle right behind the bowler, can't even see their approach, delivery, or release. There was so much opportunity to make PBA Pro Bowling 21 amazing because the first game was so bare bones. Could have given us the option to change camera angles, something that was available in the Bowling games on the PS1 20 something years ago. Could have given us the option to create a bowler and edit their appearance, which damn near every sports game has this feature. I think the dumbest and most frustrating design choice of this game is that your ball speed and hook potential are all dependent on which ball you use. Sure, the amount of hook should tie in to the ball you use, should have some effect on your hook but not to the degree that this game does. Someone like WRW Jr. shouldn't be able to play every board on the lane no matter which ball he uses. Every bowler in this game looks like they have the same damn rev rate. Can't even tell though since this game makes zero mention of rev rates, which is a huge exclusion since its something that is gauged in Bowling events. Would be like leaving club head speed or ball speed out in a golfing game. All I'm getting at is that they didn't have to make a whole new game just to include being able to use the pros, a feature that is so poorly implemented that it might as well not exist. Guess it's an easy way for them to make money, slap some poorly designed feature on the game, copy and paste the first Pro Bowling game and then double the price of the first game. They could have just sold this as DLC(not that this feature would be worth paying for) for the first game and then took their time making the next game, listening to community feedback and making some significant improvements, and maybe people wouldn't be complaining as much. I didn't complain about the first game much because I knew this was their first attempt. Was very far from being perfect but I was hoping the second game would be a leap forward, instead they rushed out a second game that's almost a carbon copy of the first. Makes the yearly improvements that Madden makes look like huge bounds compared to this.
I was taking this review serious up until the moment where he continued to throw straight up board 31 the entire time. Sorry sir but I think it's safe to say that outside of playing this video game you've never bowled higher than a 130 in real life?

Well... ide say if you are going to review a bowling game you would have to understand the subject matter which it is compared to in order to understand if it is similar or well constructed... just because you may not be capable of playing the game correctly in real life doesn't mean you shouldn't attempt to play correctly on this game unless you just really don't understand what it means to bowl more so than strapping on rental shoes and throwing a plastic lane ball with no weight block on a lane that no longer has the proper amount of oil on it cause you showed up late at night for the "black light bowling" and the people who actually brought real equipment and intended to actually play the sport correctly hooking a ball with a weight block and a proper coverstock into the 1-3 pocket to the best of their abilities showed up at opening and already burnt up the pattern on that lane...

How do you get pins in career other than special balls. Also any suggestion on leveling up fast from the beginning? I have the ball that has 5% of giving 1 pin. I don’t like the xp booster balls that require strike/spare, turkey etc. very bad stat differences imho. This game is already harder to get strikes than it is in pba challenge which these console games are based on which is more fun but manditory ads even if you bought pin. It also is disappointing that you can’t upload your pba challenge save since its the same balls same career. The difference is you play as a pro and the physics are too real in arcade. Personally I dislike some of the commentary since I’m visually impaired, it is hard to find the sweet spot so sometimes zi get insulted by one of the commentators which is insult to injury Since it is hard to see through the silouette and the green guide makes it impossible to tell if the ball is pointing at the head pin. Controls are good but you should be able to bend the angle to set a hook before throwing the ball. Over all since the game is designed to try to force you to spend money on pins for better balls it should be cheaper. Personally I wish concrete was the developer for the game since they made the original mobile game that these console games are based on. Sorry for the wall of text. Will subscribe. I’m on ps4 so can’t play with you. Good luck finding players.:)
Is this a mobile game? The physics are ps2/3 at best. The vid is well done so no disrespect there but this looks terrible. I know the pba isn't the nft so a game based on it will never get the funding or love of madden but I think technology has advanced enough to get the physics right.
Im glad you said that. should been a create a player at least for this, but seems like more interested in microtransactions for unlocking items then giving people options..

Other than booster or buying pins it seems so. For warning leveling will get extremely slow even with a good bonus ball... thanks anyhow.
