I would love that animal revenge mod idea, where your truck just goes flying when you hit something. And then the laughing deer face on top. chef's kiss.
Also that trailer is fire! And I would love to see a custom paintjob for it!
Yes, I somehow doubt Animal Revenge Mod will be an official part of the game, but once can dream. :) And yes, I think I'll have to try a custom design over the winter holiday. That'll be fun to try.

The game calls that a sideskirt, really they're just side underride guards to prevent drivers from driving under the trailer and potentially being decapitated in an accident. Also, I like how you chose essentially the most versatile type of trailer.

I love how you remembered about beacons when using a truck that doesn't have them. Beacons are the large flashing yellow lights used on large loads and special transport. Much more common in ETS2. I think in the US, wide loads are indicated with signs and flags, not beacon lights. In ETS2 you have beacons on the roof and on the back of long trailers. Your ETS2 Volvo has beacons on it's roof.

@@ZillaBlitz ATS is cool but finding it hard. The trucks don't handle like Euro trucks & parking is totally different. The wheels on US trailers are smaller and right at the back of the trailer whereas on ETS, trailer wheels are a bit further forward so the pivot point is part way down the trailer not right at the back of the trailer. Visibility is better on ETS. On ATS I'm always moving the driver seat and steering wheel in F4 menu. On some trucks on ATS you can't see outside mirror at all unless you pull the seat right back and widen the field of vision in F4 menu.
Next time you use your Volvo at night, put the beacons on, it will feel like you're driving a firetruck.
@@samcattell1150 I really struggled for the first few hours too with ATS, coming from ETS2. The turning radius is so much tighter in ETS2. Trailers feel larger, too, in ATS. And some of the parking challenges are rough as well. I almost abandoned it at one point. But you'll get used to parking, your truck will get more powerful, and I think you'll really start to enjoy it. I'm alternating now and really enjoy both. By alternating I'm trying to force my brain to be able to readjust to parking in both games more quickly.

Hey Zilla! I bought my first truck this morning, along with the rest of the Maps. I got an International 9900i, managed to get a decent engine and trans for my XP level (12). I promptly took it on a 1,780 mile run from Fresno to Laredo, and made back about half of what the truck cost ($99,976). Didn't even need to get a loan!!! So now, I'm contemplating trailers, so you know where I come for advice.
Most excellent, congrats! I think trailer advice is generally summed up in one word, if money is the goal: reefer. Refrigerated cargoes pay well, unless the game has changed since I last looked at this. :)
@@ZillaBlitz There's no end of supply of Fracking Tanks available from Fresno, and a lot of those are long distance runs. They load on a lowboy trailer, so that might be one I get after the reefer. I have been avoiding the articulating deals but as I'm in Laredo right now, and there's a run that pays nearly $100K to Oregon, I may take it.

Thanks! The numbers on your keyboard should cycle you through a variety of external views. That one at 4:40 is the number 2 on your keyboard. Hope that helps!

in real life if a deer runs in front of your truck the rule is you dont stop. its either you or that deer.
ive had a deer run in front of my truck in NC. i wasnt going too fast so i was able to stop. but if i was going 65 or 70 iam not stopping.

I wonder if developing Jana K so much on long-distance is the problem. She seems to be favouring the long-distance jobs over those that might pay more. You could also try transferring her - maybe the garage isn't well-placed?
Yeah, I was reading something the other day online that contradicted the prevailing wisdom of prioritizing distance on your hired drivers. I think I'll run a little experiment with two drivers and see what happens. Put three new drivers in the same garage with exactly the same truck at the same time. Develop one with distance, one with ADR, and one that splits between the two. See which one makes more money.

Thanks, Ateeq! The Christmas event deliveries will be External Contracts that sync with World of Trucks, so people will need a (free) World of Trucks account synced to their ATS or ETS2 profiles.

I buy a trailer early because the loads are lower paying. They slow the game down.

Cool trailer buddy! How does it work now though, if you take a normal freight market or external contracts job do you just have to abandon it, and come back to collect it later?
Yes, I think it magically gets transported back to your garage when you take one of the other types of jobs. I'll test that soon with the Christmas event. :)
quick advice: use TruckersMP and launch the game so you won't have traffics :)
Yep, there are lots of mods to change the game. I actually like the traffic/fines/damage, etc. :) Just enjoying the journey. :)

Yeah, 146k for a paint job would be a hefty cost. Although I just spent $300 to be an penguin plushy for the cab in ATS, so things are pricey in this trucking world. :) Thanks for stopping in, SP!

trust me in real life those deer will mess up your truck. I hit one in real life in the middle of the night in my freightliner one night in st paul min. and it jumped 3 lanes of traffic landed right in front of me and ended up costing about 40 grand in repairs.
Ouch! That is one expensive deer! I mean, I'm sure it was a bad day for the deer too, but 40 grand is just painful.

What do you do with you own trailer??
You can get higher paying jobs from the Cargo Market. You need to have your own trailer to access that type of delivery. :)
Is lowboy trailer single axle a good one?

I have a Peterbuilt truck I tried to purchase the bolster logging trailer didn't work I had enough money
There might be a level limit on them? I'm not sure, but I thought you could buy any trailer at Level 5. There could also be some restriction based on your skills, not sure though.

I've not played on a tablet, but on a PC there is a button on the right side that says "Buy Trailer" or "Trailer Dealer" or something like that. Do you not have that?

This was the reward for the Wyoming event. The event is over but you can probably buy it on the Steam marketplace for a few cents.

@@Kevinmozo963 Ah! Yes, but you can upgrade the truck's interior at a repair shop. So you can change the look of the wheel that comes with each truck. :)

Maybe it's just me, or perhaps it's not an American Trucker that designed the sizes of garage's. But after serveral hundred hour's of playing religiously by the book. Owning my own tractor, and pulling nothing but dropdeck aka stepdeck and or lowboy's some of which were articualated. Purchased my first lowboy. She's dressed to the nine's; But it's impossible for be when it spawns hooked to my tractor, behind the garage; To get onto the street with out not only scratching it, causing damage.
No American company or owner operator, would have one of this cookie cutter garages this game has to offer with the driveway onto the street, designed for auto's not American sized truck's and trailer's. I have mods but only quality of life and reality mods. After two million real miles of driveing during the course of my life. It's impossible to get my new trailer from behind my garage without damaging it. Apparently I've got to install the no damage mod.
Thanks for sharing, and yes, I agree that the garage's role in the game could be reworked with a lot of changes and cool things added to it. :)
I don't think it'd be cool if if you hit deer or other animals that your truck would go flying. It's a simulator. It's meant to be mostly realistic. I think it'd be better and more realistic if the front end of your truck would just be destroyed or at least damaged.
