Nice new garage, truck and good old Jenna K will do ok haha. With your upgrades you can do all the upgrades you want like interior, exterior, engine etc add to the truck then purchase in one go when you are happy with what you have. Agree regards to garages the really main thing I now look for is central location for when game resets happen, but like you touched on with the new fast travel function I guess it really does not matter as much
I'm hoping Jenna can start raking in the dough for us, for sure! She didn't seem the cheeriest of sorts in the interview, but we'll see how things go. :) ~ I'm still curious as to how the game does deliveries and route-finding for AI drivers, but I don't notice a difference in ETS2 for the garages, so yeah, who knows. Thanks for stopping in!
Thanks! The parking is ATS is definitely starting to feel less brutal, so I think I'm starting to come to grips with the different turning and the various challenges they are tossing at us. And yeah, our driver hasn't made any money yet, so I'm not sure what she's doing. I'll need to set up some webcams at the garage.
I am loving this game, wish I’d known about it years ago! Still learning lots from your videos. I’ve often wondered about garage location and proximity between garages. Been playing maybe 2 weeks now and I’m up to 3 trucks 3 hires and 3 garages!
Sounds like you're making great progress and having fun! Most awesome work! I mention this in some of the more recent ATS videos, but I want to do an experiment for garage locations, to see how much the industry in the city matters. I suspect it does matter, but I'd like to test it. :)
Mind if I ask why you bought 3 garages? Or do you have 1 driver working out of each garage? I'm curious if that works better, revisited this game in the past few days myself and I currently have 2 trucks, 1 garage,1 hire and two trailers
@@munkymittens I think your question was of me? It was just for game progression and making maximum profit and to cover the Western part of the map asap. Yes 3 driver’s 3 garages & 3 trucks, with North Central and Southern locations. I figured I’d have a team working for me as I further explored the map.
Oh, perfect, thanks so much for the help! I'm not sure I have a sleeper yet. I'll check it out next time I log in. On the real road for a few days now. :) And thank you as well. I'm glad you enjoy the series, Tony!
I'm getting pretty close to making these sorts of decisions soon. I live in Fresno but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Cali sucks on speed limits and cities, I'm getting the Texas DLC tomorrow (9/22/23), which would be a much better place to center my ops. I'm still going to wait to get beyond level 16, get about $200K in cash so I can get a decent truck and update it accordingly. Your videos are a real learning tool in getting there.
Thanks, brute! Adjusting to ATS parking from ETS2 has been tricky, but it's nice when things finally start coming together. It's still a work in progress, but I can definitely feel the improvement over time. :)
My first truck W900, first ever home town Fresno.. which is also my main account I handled everything legit until later on when I learned about VTC TMP ..
At the time I didn't think it mattered what city you picked, but judging by how poorly our drivers have done, I'm starting to think that picking a larger city for garages is a better way to go. Still not 100% sure, as there are a lot of factors that go into it. Might have to run an experiment on this at some point. :)
Great video. I bought my 1st garage and what gets me is you can't rest or work on your truck. Guess I'm thinking to much of being a real driver. And Geez it's only a game LOL. Lot of info on setting up your shop. Be safe driver
Thanks Don! Congrats on your first purchased garage! ~ There are a good number of places where you can sleep in your truck, though, right? I mean, I'm rarely using hotels anymore.
Yeah, that yellow Volvo was awesome. Might be something to look into once we get to that Level. Although I'm enjoying the Mack. Tough call. :) ~ And thanks on the parking, it's fun when they come together like that. ATS is finally starting to feel more manageable. :)
In as much as one get's to choose where the first one goes. Realistically one should choose any one of the four states in America, that don't have state income taxes. Because that first one will establish your head quarter's and if one is trying to play realistically, haveing to pay state income taxes is an expense one can avoid by setting up their head quarters in one. It cost the same to increase the size of the first garage as it does to purchase a second garage. In the case of doing the second, the first being it's considerably smaller, than become's only the headquarter's, which govern's the tax liabilties of one's trucking bussiness. Regardless of where the other driver's work out of. There employed by a company for instance that is head quarter in Nevada, they are not obligated to paying any state taxes. And a second garage starts with haveing room for three driver's, including the owner, one can hire two more. The head quarter's now become only any office. There's a reason why the large companies are head quartered in state's that have no state income tax, while having numerious garage's aka junk yards in other locations of the country. They save million's of dollar's not having to pay various state taxes if and when the equipment is registered out of the head quarted state.
Fast travel is good and it cost you about the same as it would cost in fuel without the risk of Damage if something unfortunate happens on the drive to pick up your job
@@ZillaBlitz I started my biggest job Eva and hit stuck leaving the docks 🤦🏻♂️the security boom gate closed on me between the Truck 🛻 and trailer. Had to order a Tow lol 😂

Oh, interesting. I hadn't heard that garages are more profitable depending on the industries. I'd heard that they were more profitable with more industries, but not specific ones. That might make for a nice experiment as well. Start garages with nearly identical drivers and trucks and see which ones make the most money over time. If industries do matter, then yeah, chem and oil would make a lot of sense. Thanks, mack!
Gosh, I've no clue. Are there maximum capacities for things like trailers? I've not messed around with them much. And don't all large garages have essentially the same footprint?
The designer's of this game are European. And have apparently know idea that in America our trucks turning radius's are vastly larger than their's. NO trucking company would build or rent an area which had a drive way as narrow as they are in Europe compared to the U.S.A. Having to nagociate an American Truck in Europe would be almost impossible. I recently after more than a hundred hour's of pulling someone else's articulate lowboy; Bought my own, thinking, I'd make a bit more money. It spawns to my tractor, behind the garage, and it's imposible to get to the street, when the driveways are not wide enough for an American truck to nagociate the narrowness, with the majority of shorter let alone longer trailer's this game offer's. Without causing major expensive damage. I left with because the expense is more than I would make, not utilize the trailer, which means I just wasted a lot of time, effort and money to purchase a trailer or install a mod which allows one to not receive ANY damage. Wanting to play as realistic as I can. Will have to apprently, bite the bullet and install that mod.
