I bought the osprey talon hip pack. It was awesome. But you have to tighten it up which o found limited my hip movement if it sat too low. Unfortunately, I had to return it. I wish it worked out
I tried the BD Pursuit 6L waistpack and 15L backpack in SportsBasement today. I didn't even know I was looking for a new waistpack, but this 6L gem is it. I definitely like if more than the Patagonia one. My current hip bag is the Matador Freerain, which served me well in my recent trip to Bhutan, especially in the rain, but the extra room of a 6L plus the two bottle pockets might just replace my whole backpack. I need to think about this until Back Friday. The 15L backpack was superb, but I think the 30L version is better suited, because you always want to have some extra room for snacks, sandwiches, etc. Between my Salomon XT15, Camelback Ocatane 25 and this BD Pursuit 30L I'd probably choose the BD30L, but I haven't bought it (yet)...
Found you video while comparing hip packs. Question, could the Patagonia dirt roamer be worn as a sling/ crossbody? Debating between it and the Cotopaxi allpa for hikes, soccer mom activities so much less “bouncy” but the water bottle pocket seems like a plus.
We have, in fact, tested it and share a bit of info about it in this post: terradrift.com/6-best-sustainable-hip-packs/! It's quite a bit bigger than the original, but we do love the addition of water bottle sleeves on each side!
Not many reviews for the Topo Designs hip pack. Been looking to add one to my arsenal, currently use one that can fit a Nalgene & a instax camera inside bottle & unsure if the Topo would hold either one of those inside. Any help is really appreciated!

Haha! Spoken like a true gear head! We still dig that BD waist pack and MTB with it often!

The Patagonia can be worn as a sling but it’s definitely designed more for mountain biking. The Cotopaxi wears better as a sling.
There is a new topo mountain hydro pack. Can you review that one?

Got something bigger. I need one to take the place of a day pack.
great job ❤😊
Topo designs 🥰🥰😍😍
Nut rucks lol
Came here for a gear review. Pretty 👍.
But, I have to deduct a point ( lol ), for pushing the “responsible” agenda.
