I adjusted the springs on my 2022 XRS SS several times in the first thousand miles due to initial sag and then to experiment with different ride heights front and rear until I found what I liked. Crossovers, too. Since then, it has stayed where I put it. Just over 2000 miles now still riding high. I agree with you. It is a great machine. Can't be beat for the money.
I was a Rzr guy for years. 2021 rzr with ride command did not hold up and it really wasn’t ridden hard. Many issues with electronics and parts all seemed to go at once. Zero company support. Picking up my CanAm in a few days. You can add the tablet holder and buy a cheap android tablet with gos and still run the ride command app. For about $200.
Damn, sorry to hear about your RZR not working out but stoked on your new one! And yeah that’s the route I went down. It’s definitely not as polished and cool as Ride Command but for navigation it’s great!
Bought mine brand new in April 2023, I'm not impressed with the build quality with the plastics, but it's super fast and amazing and I absolutely love mine.
They are a lot of fun to drive I have the XRS max and love it but in all honesty I think they are was overprice for what they come with . No full doors , no windshield , sucky door handles , no side mirrors . Even lower models like the the sport have amazing good doors with nice handles .
That’s a temporary fix, though. That loses plushness and gives a more rigid feel through chattery stuff. Adding more preload isn’t a viable fix for sacked-out springs.
Understand 1” doesn’t matter to 90% of buyers. The upper echelon of riders would swap the springs anyway. To be competitive, you have to build for the 90th percentile. Shock settings are not build quality it’s PDI oversight. Loose fasteners, yeah. The aftermarket industry is HUGE and we should be thankful for them. Again, it’s all about the money.
The set up and loose bolts are from your dealer not doing their diligence when finishing putting it together for delivery. Yes then spring quality is iffy but take your rig in to someone who knows suspension and have the nitrogen levels checked along with spring loads. Most of the ground clearance issues are due to improper spring set up and nitrogen levels. All 4 of my shocks had less than 90psi on the nitrogen filled them to the correct levels all the sag is gone and rides like a sofa now.
You’re right about that ultimately being on the dealer, but their setup doesn’t include stuff like checking clickers and whatnot. They said that is part of Can Am’s final inspection before leaving the factory. The roll cage bolts and that sort of thing were definitely on the dealer so you’re right about that! On the springs note, losing nitrogen is definitely an issue but the springs sacking out is a huge issue for all brands. We are a suspension shop (albeit for dirt bikes) so we did check nitrogen and they’re all four right within spec from Fox. I’m getting springs here soon so it won’t be an issue, just a bit of an annoyance that they don’t come stock with decent quality springs like bikes do. Thanks for the input! I definitely should have mentioned that in the video.
You’re right, it is a ton of money for a toy. But it is a lot of performance and technology for the money as well. And yes, it definitely was a struggle for me to afford as I saved up for years for it. But that said, compare the performance of a stock $30k side by side to any other off road vehicle and you’ll see how good they are for that price. A comparable prerunner truck that’ll handle that well off road is easily north of $100k and custom made.
@@Hot-Dog-Racing The old tried and true desert saying "its pay to play" while a comparable prerunner wont run you 100k+ it will run you 40k+ forsure. The big differences are a SXS is a lot more versatile. Snow, mud, desert, they can handle them all where a prerunner will really only excel in 1 area. The other MAJOR difference... maintenance/ease of repairs/and cost of repairs. This is coming from someone who was about to build a 06-13 silverado long travel full cage 4 link coil/bypass each corner everything and the build sheet was adding up quickly. $50k with me doing all welding/fab myself, no engine mods yet, no built rearend or transmission.
