As a Chinook pilot, ending my military career in a couple of years, I am so glad I will be able to continue to fly the beast thanks to DCS.
I am just hoping the flight model is accurate enough to be enjoyable
Glad we will be able to keep the dream alive, we are working very hard on the flight model and I am sure you will enjoy. It is one of my favourites having jumped on and off them many times myself. Best regards - Scott / bignewy
@@EagleDynamicsTV great news and thank you for you reply. Cheers, Vortex585, RAF 18(B)Sqn
I teach 1x/year with a guy who flew Chinooks for 15 yrs. 2 yrs ago when i told him i was considering transitioning to rotary, he abruptly asserted, “you can’t afford it. It’s 4x more than fixed wing.”
So when you retire from Chinooks, DCS will scratch the itch…while keeping you out of the poor house trying to regularly fly real world rotary…
@@damcopter I live near Odiham, love watching you guys fly!
Dear Sir, what a honour! Many thanks for your passion and support. Kind regards, Nick
Non combat aircraft like Chinook bring so much potential to DCS. Great work guys!

This is so cool! I talked to a CH-47 pilot the other day at an airshow and he was telling me how much this thing has been upgraded. With an all glass cockpit, auto takeoff, auto hover, and more
As a former chinook mechanic I've been waiting for this day since I left the Army 8 years ago.
Well I hope we do you proud, and I hope you give us feedback where we need it! Thanks! -NineLine/Norm

But as a mechanic the urge to fly this must have been way way bigger!

I see so much more coming to DCS than just a new helicopter! ❤ Transport and logistics look soooo promising.

It sorta sounds like they are teasing troops being able to board and disembark the aircraft 🤔 I really hope that makes it into this module and to the rest of the aircraft that can carry troops. Either way this is going to be an important addition to DCS world and I can't wait to do some escort missions with real people behind the 47.

One of the best sounding hells for creeping up on you at first light,,We had 2 come in and surprise us on an exercise in Germany, many years back, Always prided myself in shouting out what was coming when hearing the different hells, but all I heard was a ripping noise, and they were low, ..on the ground in seconds .. beautiful……we lost that one lol.
I have spent many hours, geared up in the back of these, during my time in 11AMB Royal Netherlands Army. This was our taxi. Our main way of infill and exfill. And yes, i pre-ordered it.
Love ED but I think a lot of us just want our beloved Eagle issues to be settled and to move on to a bigger and better DCS in the future. Can't wait to see the Chinook in the skies.
Razbam developers quit Razbam recently. I think it's dead jim
Nice helicopter. But i want a full fidelity blackhawk!
I trained in the Army National Guard. to work on the Chinook rotor hub, 68D Aircraft Powertrain Repairer, the size of it compared to other helos in the army was astounding. The sad thing was that once at my unit, an avcrad, I never got to work on one again. I have always wanted to fly and did in college, but never did in the military as I dreamed, I put love and life in front of my dream. My wife now bought me vr, and I adore the huey, the Apache, I can not wait for the Kiowa and the Chinook. Thank you for bringing flight to my life again, even if it is simulated. Thank you.

Judging by the fact there are three simultaneous pre orders, probably not.

All things considered, no way I'm pre-ordering anything from you guys, but I'm still pumped to pick this up as soon as it hits early access in 2028!
I’ll need to see some tangible proof that my f-15e will actually be finished before I spend any more on DCS.
2 different companies my dude.
@@matthewjackson5325 yeah. But the problem is a joint effort between razbam and ED.
@@audunskilbrei8279 It's Razbam, what did you expect when you bought it? They're by far the worst company in DCS. They take absolutely forever to fix things, make shoddy models and now a crap map, and they don't announce when they change things half the time and just leave you to figure out how to get your controls set up again.
@@matthewjackson5325 irrelevant. DCS devs have a long and storied history of not finishing their products. Look how much is still in early access, years later.
Keep defending this trash
It's rare to find something that's not problematic in some way. Falcon4 is great (if you love Vipers). Il2 is great for ww2 only (if you like questionable flight modelling and sub-par visuals).
Msfs is fine if a to b is your thing and you don't want Rotary Wing which is awfully modelled (Prepare to buy new sim every few years).
DCS has its problems also. Right now, for me and a majority - its the best near modern day combat sim. I've been at this gaming lark a long time so I've seen where we've come from to where we are.
If you're that unsatisfied and feel your critique falls on deaf ears, maybe give it a break. Come back when you feel it's standards match your requirements. Haranguing people who love their hobby is counter productive. Best wishes.@Rokaize
The sound is spot on! i cannot wait to take this beast up! Rotorheads will never be the same so much logistics

Not buying this one until we have dynamic campaign and a fledged out logistics network
Things we are working very hard on, but they will take time. We hope we meet your expectations once we deliver. Thank you - Scott / bignewy
doing logistic run in DCS is much more satisfying in the Chinook!
How’s about we finish that super carrier first before releasing yet another cash grab, I mean early access module.
The Supercarrier is going hard, but its bringing some brand new gameplay features to DCS, some of which are waiting on full implementation of Vulcan. You should see a new report on the work we have been doing with flight directors soon. The CH-47 in no way will impact that work and is just the natural progression for the Helicopter teams. I'm honestly surprised the Blackhawk wasn't the cargo helicopter selected as ED's next one after the Apache, but I'm definitely not mad. My Dad was a door gunner in one back in Vietnam and it'll be fun to fly the thing around myself.
The Blackhawk would be a great helo to do one day, but this one made the most sense for us right now. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm

Would love to see a bomber like the b-1 or b-52 that a player can fly with others and can improve teamwork (edit: would love to see the f-111 bc it could work with the f-4e in Vietnam)
What a beast. When I was a US Army photographer back in the 90s, I was on the ground next to an MP vehicle being picked by a Chinook. As it hovered overhead, the dirt from the prop wash literally sandblasted all the coating off my Nikon lens. Great times.
This with the Herc....whole new avenue of missions open up! Looking forward to seeing this beast in the digital air!
Are we going to get all 3 sling load hooks use or will it be as sling loading is now . i only ask as you never showed any vehicle lifting like a hummer or multi hook loads .just the 1 cable gun load .really hope its just overlooked in the vid an not in the finished product ?
We want it to be the most accurate representation of the CH-47F possible, if we can do it we will do it. The video is an in development build, things are changing and growing all the time. Kind regards -NineLine/Norm
I see Chinooks flying over occasionally, and you can always tell when one is coming from miles away purely because nothing else has that kind of thumping rotor noise. I love that they've managed to capture that exact sound perfectly.
All we need now is the UH-60 Black Hawk to the collection.
My older cousin flew Sea Knights in the Marines for his entire career; I wonder how well those skills & knowledge would transfer over to a Chinook-Under other circumstances I'd be satisfied with just the Huey & Hip as enough transport choppage for both Red & Blue, but as soon as I saw this module announced I imagined it might be something neat my cousin and I could enjoy together from across the country.
That is very cool, let us know what you and he thinks when you get to try it out! Kind regards! -NineLine/Norm

First of all the Phantom is being developed by Heatblur as many people have said before. Second, would you rather have a rushed module or a delayed but good one?
I hpoe ED rework the logistics system
We know that this is a big demand for this type of gameplay and while we appreciate the communities hard work and support to bring these features themselves, we also know we need to take the load off them and build some of this into the sim. Thanks! -NineLine/Norm
Now the real question, is there new mechanics that we can use this with or do we have to rely on scripts still?
We hope to chat more about upcoming improvements planned for this, but we do appreciate the work people have done to add to DCS via scripts, there are some amazingly talented people out there. Kind Regards -NineLine/Norm
@@EagleDynamicsTV Copy that. Thanks for the response. That's the one thing that is getting very hard for me to stay engaged is just the new aircraft, learn it, fly the same servers doing the same thing where everything is predictable, repeat. yes it getting old this no real troops in the back thing if arma 3 an 11 year old game can sync real players in the back of hellos with old as netcode surly we can get a bunch of ai to sit still for a trip . we also need to just be able to hover over a vehicle that's within weight limits an net it an sling it to anywhere .any thing not just pre scripted in the editor then we can really be affective in a dynamic way .scripting is nice an we can build sam sites an so on but it should be a filler not just how it is. if we could actually carry a folded launcher or ammo truck would be soooo much better
